No, I do not think that it is important to have different role models because every human being

The way our heroes and idols act has a strong influence on how we behave as well. This can be seen in many circumstances with the most obvious being celebrities setting trends. The caricatures we create can also be very harmful to ourselves. Another example of negative role models is kids growing up in a ghetto often idolise local gang members. This tends to lead to those same kids replicating gang member behaviour, murdering, stealing and raping. The end result is some of these kids either in jail or dead. This is a huge problem in our society. We value people with self centered and lack of empathy not because we value these qualities within the person, but we look up to the people that are revolting against the systems and cycles of poverty and pain that we are trapped in. Young children in impoverished areas look up to gang members because they see that even though they started from nothing, as they did, they became part of something that stands up to the idea that all they will ever be is at the bottom of the food chain, picking up the scraps others have left behind. For this reason, it’s easy to see why these common thugs are idolised, they have respect and this is something that every person wants, especially people that aren’t given any. However, it does not do us any good to look up to people that slip through the cracks of the system, but rather we should try to change the system so this build up of resentment between different facets of society does not

A positive effect that role models will have on society is that they can teach us life lessons. An example of this is to work hard and never give up so you can accomplish your goals and dreams. This is a positive effect on society because it will help motivate more people and make people work hard so they can reach to the top and accomplish their goals and dreams like their role models. This could motivate people around the world to try to become just like him so they can one day be the best just like usain bolt. Unfortunately there a negative effects that role models will have on society. An example is that if an athlete/role model gets caught cheating or doing something bad. It could paint a really bad picture on the country and the person. This could also start fights with fans of countries that got caught cheating with other fans. This will bring up the crime rate and the sport will be mostly ruined. An example of this is in 2012 it was announced that in shot put Ostapchuk who failed a drug test and was caught cheating. This put a really bad image on her country and the country was mocked because she cheated in her

My point is, why would athletes even be suited to be role models? Because they're on television? In the words of the great Charles Barkley, "Just because I can dunk a basketball doesn't mean I should raise your kids."

The definition of a role model is a person whose behaviour, example or success can be emulated by others, especially young people. Their values, actions and behaviours are upheld as an ideal and to be desired. Being a role model may not be taken in its entirety. It can be broken down allowing a person to be a role model in one area and not another. Being a manager is not a guarantee to be a role model. Good leaders will model behaviours that encourage employees to endorse organisational goals and objectives. By modelling the behaviours you find desirable and that will help reach company gaols others will also begin to model said behaviours.

A role model is someone who lights the way you can’t, and inspires people to create their own path. They ignite your truth, and know how to turn that flame into a wildfire. A role model doesn’t have to be famous or a hero because they are your hero. They are your familiar face in a sea of unfamiliar souls.

True role models are those who possess the qualities that we would like to have. Role models are those who have affected us in ways that influence us to be better people. They are people who others imitate, emulate or look to for guidance. There are good role models who inspire greatness in others and bad role models who are bad influences. There are even anti-role models, pegged by the media as "bad girls" or "bad boys" who serve as good examples of what not to do if you want to become a successful, respected person. With the majority of my time spent as an athlete throughout high school and college, I believe athletes should pose as role models.

Do celebrities make bad role models? I believe they do. Kids see celebrities in the news everyday and mimic what they do, thinking that they should be like them. But that is wrong. Most celebrities don’t know what they are doing in their life because they have a hard time telling reality from fantasy. They are like you and me, but people think that they are more than that. Most magazines and movies have pictures/videos of airbrushed celebrities and when teenager look at these they start believing that looking like how celebrities do is the only way to be popular and loved.

Charles Barkley once stated, “I'm not paid to be a role model. I'm paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court." This quote is a perfect example of the traditional paradigm illustrating impersonal and a competitive mindset. Mr. Barkley felt no obligation to society and demonstrated that his success was only about him and what he was paid to do. An alternative paradigm for such a public figure would be LeBron James, The LeBron James Family Foundation focuses on children, with James donating around $41 million in 2015 sending 1,100 kids to school. Most people would say that in order to be considered a good role model, you first need to be considered a good person. A good person is typically a person who has empathy for others, tries their best to make good decisions, and follows the law. After reading this description, of what a good person is, celebrities would not typically be the first group of people that would pop into your head because of their bad reputations, but that doesn't mean that all public figures are known for their bad choices. Celebrities should be famous for their talents and skills in some sort of field, or they could just have a great life story and have done great things in their life which inspired people to do the same. After all, everyday people run red lights all the time and no one would ever know, but the moment a celebrity gets one traffic ticket, it will be instantly posted all over every single magazine and news station. Public figures should be considered role models because, many public figures can serve as inspiration to do great things and a great example of what can happen if you make bad decisions.

Role models have an astounding effect on the lives of young people in our society. A role model has the ability to shape the views, ideals, and actions of a young person. Role models help youth to discover how they wish to become in the future. The influence that role models have over young people is tremendous. It is important for role models to be positive and responsible in instilling good morals and values because future generations are directly dependent on the role models of today. By examining the influence of role models, role models in the community, and role models in the media, we will be able to determine the true effect that role models have on the lives of youth.

The celebrities that kids are looking up to are adults that partake in adult and illegal behavior such as partying, drinking, and drugs that lead into violence.
