Isabela is now an adult, that came from an abusive family. After leaving her family, she then started her own life and got into a serious relationship. Little did she know that the abuse would follow her into her relationship. The guy she was dating had also come from an abusive childhood. Isabela stated "But because violence was all I knew at that point in time, it appeared to be normal and fine for me." This statement shows the mental damage that a child can receive from maltreatment. Isabela didn’t know a life that didn’t involve violence so she thought that it was the correct way to. This cycle seems to be never ending for the victims. The chain needs to be broken when entering adulthood.

The assumption that Rachel is a victim of abuse can be verified by comparing the signs of abuse with the list of “classic symptoms” provided by her teacher and is the teacher qualified to make these conclusions about children in her class. Furthermore, other information needs to be collected by investigating when and how the child’s behaviour has changed, also a closer look at physical signs such as bruising, and behavioural signs such as aggression that a child would display if he/she was physically, emotionally or sexually abused. When analyzing the symptoms provided by Rachel’s teacher the conclusion can be disregarded because it lacks conclusive evidence of abuse. Many normal children in the same age as Rachel are hyperactive while finding it difficult to sit still, many displays disinterest in subjects that they may find boring.
The safety and security of many children across the world are in danger due to physical abuse. Child abuse has been linked to an assortment of changes in the brain which result in psychological, behavioral, and academic problems. While it is unclear whether the population that had been maltreated as children is accurate, physical maltreatment in the first 5 years of life places a child at risk for a variety of psychological and behavioral problems during adolescence. The following three literature reviews attempts to prove and support the premise.
Research indicates that 1 out of every 4 children will be the victim of sexual abuse before reaching age 18
