Romeo and Juliet were two young people from feuding families, who fell in love. Their love was so strong, that they ended up dying for each other. The ironic twist at the end of the story surprised many who had read it. But who is to blame for this tragedy? Many characters in this play could be to blame. We believe that some of the characters to blame are Capulet, Friar Lawrence, plus Romeo and Juliet themselves.

In this essay I will be exploring the reasons as to why some people would argue that a certain person or people are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

Many have said that romance brings love and affection, but when taken to the extreme, it can lead to tragedy and despair. Among the great literary tragedies, Romeo and Juliet may be the most famous of them all. The eternal feud between the Montegues and Capulets prohibits the love of Romeo and Juliet and ultimately results in their unfortunate deaths. It may be difficult to truly determine who is to blame for the tragedy, because their lives had been influenced, criticized, and controlled by many figures. Among the most important characters, Friar Lawrence enables the forbidden marriage of the two lovers and devises a plan to ensure that they end up together. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a book of fate and how everyone in the world affects the happenings of this world. The author of this extraordinary book is William Shakespeare. Although Romeo and Juliet killed themselves, there were many people responsible for their deaths. It is arguable that the parents of the two lovers, Friar Laurence, and Romeo and Juliet themselves were the most responsible, some could say that the other main characters like Mercutio, Benvolio, Tybalt, the Nurse, and Paris were involved as well. There were many people responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, although they took their own lives, they were not all to blame.

The first mistake that Friar Laurence made was to agree to marry the two in secret and without the permission of their parents. If any of these events did not take place, their deaths could’ve been avoided.

When choosing who to blame, you have to look at who drove them the most. The best choices would be Juliet, Friar Lawrence, and Romeo. These people were picked because they play a big enough role in the deaths because of how much they were involved.

What is most responsible for the two lovely lover-Romeo and Juliet’s death? In my opinion, there is no one particular person to really blame on their death. However, it is every single person are should be blamed for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. If I was answering the question of who were the few most responsible people for their tragedy-it would be three people. Because of people’s decision and different point of view, the people most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are Lady Capulet, Nurse, and Friar Lawrence.

I think the one most responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths is Tybalt. The main reason I think that Tybalt is the cause of their deaths is that if Tybalt would have listened to Romeo. ‘Tybalt- “Boy, your words can’t excuse the harm you’ve done to me. So now turn and draw your sword.”’ ‘Romeo- “I disagree. I’ve never done you harm. I love you more than you can understand until you know the reason why I love you. And so, good Capulet-which is a name I love like my own-you should be satisfied with what I say”’

First reason is because it was his job in this plan to make sure that Romeo got the message he sent, but he never made sure that he actually got the message and knew what the plan was. Romeo did not know that Juliet was using a fake drink that will make it seem like she’s dead.

In the play ¨Romeo and Juliet¨ by Shakespeare, there are several people who are responsible for the lover's suicide. Although many family members oppose the marriage, the real blame only belongs to a select few. No one is 100% responsible for their deaths, and a tragedy was inevitable. But if there's one person to hold most of the responsibility, it's Friar Laurence.

In the Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, there are many things that certain characters could have done to prevent the entire ordeal. While most of the characters were not involved with it at all, there are a few people that could have prevented it. The person that i blame the most for all of this would have been romeo. Romeo knew that he was not supposed to go to the party because he is a montague. And because he went to that party, he met someone that he was not supposed to meet. He had so many chances to turn around and not do what he did, however he persisted. While romeo was on his journey, the servant came up to him asking if he could read the list with the names on it, and had romeo read it. While romeo was reading it off to the servant, a name caught his attention, and he asked the servant where the party was, and the servant told him the information assuring him that he could attend as long as he was not a montague. Romeo, knowing he was a montague, accepted the invitation, and then attended the party.
