I have brownish blonde hair and brown eyes. Sadly, I was not blessed with the tallness gene in my family so I am pretty short, around 5’2, but I kind of like being short because it has its advantages. I am 17 but am excited about turning 18, but am scared and excited for my future. I think the most positive thing about my character is that I am trustworthy. I trust that my friends can come to me with their problems and they know that I will not tell anyone if they do not want anyone to know. I am very hardworking but only on things I think are important in my life and for me. If I do not think it will benefit me, I do not spend much time and energy on it. I love to spend with my friends and my family. My parents, Steve and Amy, have been married for 23 years and have three children, and I am the middle child. I have one older sister, Emily, who is a sophomore at Ball State and she is majoring in Finance. I also have one younger brother, Justin, who is a freshman at Pioneer. My sister and I are very different. She is very soft spoken and does what she is told when she is told. On the other hand I like to share my opinions, and not let people treat me badly. My brother has the same attitude as my sister, but looks more like me. My dad is a farmer and my mom works as an accountant at Westminster Village. My favorite family member is my Grandma. She is my best friend and we spend a lot of time together. I love just going to her house to spend time and talk to her. We are
My family consists of my mom, dad, two sisters, and one brother. I am the youngest child of the family. With my siblings being a good deal older than me, I tended to feel left out when they got to do things that I didn’t. The age gap left me feeling like an outsider sometimes. As we grew older, the bond between us grew much, much stronger. I think of my siblings more like friends now. They are people that I can tell
My family is always there for me. My mom and dad support me so much. You would think that if one of your parents owned a business he would want you to work there, but my dad is the complete opposite. Yes I work there, but when I’m out of high school he wants me to go to college and do what I’m passionate for. My dad's business is a family business, so it has been passed down to him. My mom is just the best you could ever want. She keeps me organized and has lead me to be a good kid. She was always pushed me to be the best I can. I would be so different if my mom would have not kept me in line. My sister is sometimes supportive, but like most siblings she is most of the times not my favorite. My sister is very good at basketball so I try to support her the best I can with her when it comes to sports. We are very close to both of our grandparents and our cousins around us. My cousin lives about five minutes from me as well as my mom's parents. My dad's parents live about two minutes away from us. Every holiday we and my cousin's family are always up at my dad's parents house. My cousin's mom and my dad are brother and sister. I always have a great time with my
I was raised in a middle class environment with an unorthodox family. I have three siblings, all of us adopted. My brother is named Ethan and we are two years apart from each other. He is also a mix of so many different races that I cannot keep track of how many there are. After him, there are my sisters, Jackie and Josie. They are African-American twins who are five years younger than me. They are very sporty and athletic, while I try to avoid sports as much as I can. I have both a mother and a father, Robin and Paul Schlegel, who were both born and raised in Indiana. I was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and moved to a town called New Palestine, Indiana when I was only a few months old. New Palestine is an average-sized town where everyone knows
My immediate family consists of myself, my little sister, my little brother, my dad, and my mom. My sister, Julia, is thirteen years old. She and I are very different, as she loves to perform and be the center of attention. Julia loves to dance, sing, act, and play volleyball. She is very dramatic and always seems to be trying to pick a fight. Julia is also very pretty! My brother, Aidan, is nine years old. He is very friendly and excitable, without being annoying. He loves to play sports, basketball being his favorite, and loves to play video games. I love to spend time with my brother; I get along much better with him than I do with my sister. I believe it is because we have more similar interests and more similar personalities. My dad recently turned fifty years old! Like my brother, I am more similar to my dad personality wise. He works at his own law firm and attempts to spend as much time with our family as possible. He comes home late on week days, but keeps the weekends free, and will always leave work early in order to catch one of my sibling’s games. My mom is forty-nine and is more similar to Julia, which is probably why they clash so much! My mom is very loud and outgoing around people she knows, and loves to have fun. She works a part-time job as an assistant teacher for Special Ed children and Hicksville
There is a lot that can be said about me and where I come from. I like to describe myself as a kind, open minded person that can be easy to get along with, that is always seeking to gain higher knowledge. I have many interests that include theatre, tennis, reading, Science fiction, games, and debating. I try to make sure that I am involved in my interests in some way, examples are school productions that I am apart of, the Fresno High School Senate, Sci-fy club, and the tennis team. I come from a low income household with my parents, 6 younger siblings, and my uncle, who pays a small amount of rent. My family is very close and each of us supports each other with what they want to achieve and being the oldest I want to lead a path for each of my siblings and demonstrate that anyone can achieve their dreams.
I am Kinsey McCloud from Corpus Christi, Texas. I lived there my whole life until I moved up to Wichita Falls, Texas for college. My natural hair color is blonde and I am five foot five inches tall. I love watching movies, and I have seen the Harry Potter movies and the Marvel movies over 20 times. I love reading and sleeping, those are my favorite hobbies. I have three fish, a dog, and three cats. I’m hoping after college/school I can become a librarian or do something that works with animals.
Everyone has negative character traits passed on by a parent or a family member. These traits are used to define our character for this reason Sula follows in her mother foot -steps. They both love men and have a steady stream of lovers, most of whom are married to friends and neighbors. In a similar way, the two times that she has a relationship she fell hard and becomes obsessed, leaving her heart broken and devastated. Like any dysfunctional mother-daughter relationship, Hannah is similarly detached from her own daughter. As stated by Hannah, "she love Sula, but she doesn 't like her". In other words, she loves her daughter unconditionally but her attitude could be hard to bare. As a result, there relationship became distant. We can all agree the lack of communication is a common challenge with mothers and daughters, such as Sula and Hannah. They both have mutual hobbies and traits yet struggle to bond with each other. Many think the only way to improve the relationship is for the other to change their ways which is accurate in most cases.” You can’t change their actions; you can only change your own reaction and response”, stated Mintle. Specifically Sula struggle with expressing her love to her family
while creating my family genogram, it became apparent that there is a remarkable similarity of personality traits among my grandparents and my parents. Each wife is seen as strong-minded or strong-willed while the husbands’ personality trait is described as being more laidback. I found it quite humorous to think about because I can see it in my own relationship as well, whereas I find myself to be the strong-willed one while my boyfriend tends to be more relaxed.
The family is a truly special thing. What makes a family so unique is that unification of a group of people with so many different characteristics. In fact, each and every one of our relatives contributes to that extraordinary bond families share in their own individual way. Our blood may define family, but it’s those unique relationships with the controlling grandmother, that crazy aunt, or even that inappropriately laid back relative that genuinely gives the family a special essence.
Most people have family whether it’s huge or small. Families include relationships such as marriages, which sometimes falls under exogamy and endogamy. Which is the difference between marring someone of a different social category from you or from the same social category. These types of relationships can fall under two different theories. Which include Structural-Functional and Social Conflict/ Feminist theories. Each family is differently structured and defined by these theories including my family.
I have 3 siblings; two brothers and one sister. My sister “Isha-27”, Little brother “Ishmael-10”, and my older brother “I.B-18”, we all grew up and spent the most of our lives with each other. I think I’ve always known that I was a little different from my brothers and my sister, but it's okay because we are all different in many ways. Now my story on how it's like living with 3 siblings with personalities are all different and how we all like certain things but we all manage to live together in harmony , my older brother is more into sports and my little brother is more into video games; my sister is more into reading a writing and more i'm more into math and science. At times it gets extremely annoying living with them
This chapter addressed the different characteristics of families and how we, as teachers, can support these families.
Looking back three generations, I can see how my values I have learned through my immediate family have been passed on from generation to generation. Both of my mother and father’s sides, would be considered a nuclear family. My grandparents were both married when they had children. My mother’s parents stayed together until my grandfather died in 2000 at 68 years old. My father’s parents divorced after all four of their children had graduated high school and were adults. Both parents had multiple siblings and all of them grew up in an authoritative parenting home where discipline was used to reinforce the family rules. My parents siblings were extremely close growing up, partly because they all had to share their rooms with each
When I was five years old, my aunt was involved in a really severe car accident. The accident left her in a rehab for a couple of months so she could learn how to walk and do daily activities on her own again. I would always love to visit her every weekend. Being only five years old and not really knowing the main purpose of a hospital, I thought it was a fun and magical place. They had a colossal courtyard where my sisters, cousin, and me would play. They also had an indoor playground where other children my age could run away and play with too. Let’s not forget the amazing food they would serve us during lunch time. However, the whole image of a hospital for me was tainted due to one thing, the elevator.
I have always been obsessed with advertisements and food ever since I was little. For instance, when I was younger, I used to study the way the subway commercial man pronounced, “Subway eat fresh.” Also, I was fascinated with New York because I knew that it was packed full of ads and delicious foods. So, my sweet, down-to-earth mom, my prissy half-sister, and I took a family vacation to New York to visit my aunt and uncle and to explore. My dad could not make the trip to New York because he could not take vacation time from his job. My aunt designed cereal boxes for major cereal companies, and my uncle was the producer for all Mercedes –Benz commercials and some Tic-tac commercials. Knowing I would be spending a week in an ad filled city
