There are a lot of things you must do to become a childcare provider. Providing for a child isn’t that easy to do without the proper training. These nurseries took care of children of widows and working wives. Most families that were involved with day nurseries were a part of an economic deprived group of sailors. The Kaiser Child Care Centers were established during the World War II by the Kaiser company for their female workers and were operated 24 hours a day. The Kaiser Company built these facilities in the shipyards so that the working mothers wouldn’t have to worry about the safety of their children and would be motivated to work more. Not only did these centers provide care for the children, they also provided the children with medical attention, and hot meals. We currently have centers like these now. Most centers now a days take care of children day-to-day so their parents can go to work and sustain their families without having to worry about their safety and well-being. Patrice is 53 years old and is a mother to four girls ages 15, 18, 23, and 24. Patrice was born into an American Catholic family with Irish and British descent. She identified herself as a middle-class American. Patrice attended college and got her Bachelor’s degree so she is highly educated. These facilities offer a nurturing and fun learning environment to promote curiosity, innovation, and continuous growth in developmental abilities and positivity in children, and they also have the ability to provide encouraging and engaging activities that endorse emotional, social, and academic development (Phillips 1987). Within these facilities, high quality care calls for each child reach greater levels of learning and can develop skills at their own pace under supervision.
