I consider and know that children are the future of our world; we have to know how to teach and educate them adequately so they could be prepared to lead future generations. I consider that each child has its own way of learning; there are multiple ways in which a person could be intelligent and capable of completing tasks. I want to be able to help children with everything they need. I want to motivate them to do and be the best in every task and area, everything that they dream and think about, to persuade their dreams and never give up no matter how hard they think it is or how difficult becomes trough the way. I don’t want to be the type of teacher that goes through the school year teaching what I have to and limit my capabilities to show them things and lessons useful for their lives, I want every child that goes to my classroom, leave it at the end of the year with instructions or lessons that make them better persons. Additionally, think that it’s important to have a good balance between discipline and kindness with students, it’s important to have a good relationship with the students because in that way is easier to communicate with them; if they have any problems or trouble learning a lesson or something in the content, if they have a good communication and relationship with you, it will be easier for them to tell you about what is causing them trouble. In some cases, when the educator is strong and teaches with hard discipline, the students tend to evade them and
Emerson and today’s theories of education view discipline as necessary for the progress of students in the classroom; however, Emerson’s beliefs differ from modern-day theories of discipline in "respecting a child" encompassing "patience", "the receiving mind" and "discovers for himself his goal in life." Emerson realized that progressive learning is not a dictator relationship. "Respecting a child" will enhance the student’s ability to achieve their goals.
The teacher must know how to set the tone for the classroom and ensure that it is a productive learning environment. The teacher wants to avoid anything that would provoke them negatively as well as the students. At the same time, they must know what is needed to reinforce good behavior.
All teachers want that perfect classroom were the students feel safe and feel like they actually can learn in there, but first you need classroom managements. You cannot teach students if they do not cooperate with you. You need to be on the same level. Love your students. Understand them. Get to know them. Teaching is not only getting them to know the material but you need to always learn from them. Ask them questions . Make sure their opinion matters. I notice that mrs priester was very involved with her students and actually wanted to be there and that's what makes a classroom so mantane because if you and the kids are on the same page and understand each other, everyday will go smooth and you will see improvements from the students. I think being apart of the kids life is very
Many teachers are faced with the difficult task of managing their student’s behavior. Even if we
A strong collaborations and good relation between the adults will encourage the good behaviour in children. The adults working within the school must aim for creating an optimistic and positive environment which holds high but practical expectations of every child who attends the school and highlights the significance of being respected as an individual within the school. By encourage the children through example like truthfulness and politeness, having a relationships based on fairness, kindness and understanding of the needs of the other children within the school.
In The Best Discipline Is Good Curriculum from The New Teacher’s Book, Kelley Dawson Salas talks about how hard she used to try to get her students to behave in her first year of teaching (Burant, 2010, p. 241). Salas tried everything from behavior charts to “pleading for sympathy” (Burant, 2010, p. 241). However, Salas learned that you do not have to wait for your students to be “under control” to teach them something worthwhile (Burant, 2010, p. 242). Salas learned that her students’ behavior improved, when she focused on the curriculum she was teaching, instead of their behavior (Burant, 2010, p. 242). Once she started focusing on the curriculum, she did not have to worry about the student’s behavior anymore. I believe that this is the most important aspect of this article because I believe that a good curriculum is the best discipline (Burant, 2010, p. 241).
During my time at Shenandoah Elementary School I observed Mrs. Fiol’s 2nd grade class. Her class is an inclusive class. I noticed that some students that seem to be advance still have behavior problem, which made teaching difficult. I learned a lot during my time in her class. I learned that you must flexible because the class must go on, and just because part of you lesson does not happen the way you expected it to go does not mean that you should give up. I learned that while it is trying to create an inquire lesson it is not impossible. With the correct resources and modification any student can perform an inquire lesson. I learned that an inquire lesson is better than the traditional way of the teacher just talking at the students. I also
In today’s society, children encounter many different troubles, and they struggle with things than most people actually don’t notice, but who does a person refer to when they suspect something is troubling a child? Whose responsibility is it to help the child whenever there is a problem in need of addressing, and how would they go about solving the problem? Sometimes it can be a challenging task to figure out what can be troubling a child. Because children in modern society are exposed to and involved with so much more than past generations, it makes it difficult for adults to connect and understand what the children go through because they don’t experience the same things that the child does on a daily basis. The youth today are the future of the world, which makes it a major priority for them to be provided with basic needs for living and also for them to be mentally and physically healthy, as well as keeping them happy during the time of their life where they should have very little responsibility and live carefree. Many children have a hard time when dealing with things troubling them and a harder time talking to someone about those things that are causing troubles with them. School Social Work deals with children and their families throughout the course of adolescent education. Children in today’s society experience many troubles that can go unnoticed a majority of the time. Fortunately, when a child is showing strong signs of a problem, there are school social
Schools must foster an environment in which students may not only learn, but teach. In order for students to develop the desire to learn, it is essential that they respect those that they are learning from. I have found
And it is the only tool that one can also use to fight against poverty, harassment, difficulties, violence and discrimination in our society. If a student is disciplined and educated, he or she can then become successful in their later life and society. Therefore, our students must maintain discipline to earn dignity and success. If the student is not disciplined, all the teachers will not like him/her and if teachers dislike any student, then they will be reluctant to give the student the knowledge they have. A particular situation does not favour the student and it will hinder his or her progress. So therefore, it’s important that students listen to their teachers and family’s advice and take their rightful place in school and society at large.
I as a teachers am committed make my future classroom safe for all my students as well as engage my students through the curriculum as well as getting to know their likes and dislikes. I believe meeting the needs of my classroom, as well as the individual student by one on one interactions. Knowing I will have children with disabilities or language barriers, I will make it were students are comfortable with one another through interaction. Talking will be the highlight in the classroom, along with group work, authentic learning will be key to classroom success. My goal is to encourage all students to participate in class so everyone can learn from one another, and me the teacher as well. I know I have a very silly calmness personality in my
When it comes to using positive guidance strategies with young children, I find that discipline, guidance, and punishment are all teaching or learning skills necessary to be a productive teacher. As stated in chapter 5, “when talking about discipline, keep in mind the differences among the three words and be precise in your choice of words.” (Marion, 2015, p. 124) in which case discipline is Latin for “teaching and learning” versus punishing a child with physical aggression.
One of two outcomes will occur for every child in the United States: graduating or not graduating from high school. This outcome dictates each student’s future in areas including finances, occupation, medical insurance, criminal history, and health. Factors contributing to the level of success each student experiences in school ranges from the level of their motivation to conflicts at home, pregnancy or behavioral issues. These and other contributing factors can be countered by increasing the amount of support students receive from parents and other caring adults. Research has found that, overall, parental involvement and support from other caring adults increases the chances of students graduating from high school.
Children are an important part of the continuation of humanity, both as a species and culturally. However, there are few references, outside of the instances where laws in relation to orphans or widows or introduced, that discuss children in the Old Testament. There are times where the birth of a child is mentioned, as is the case when Eve bore Cain in Genesis 4.1. However, there is no mention of his childhood. Rather, the story continues when he is an adult farmer. The New Testament includes references to children other than as a reference to genealogy or to celebrate a birth. These are very important to understanding the shift in tone from the previous books of the Bible.
Let children be children, is not only a popular phrase heard in education, but it is also my motto. Yes, it is true, today’s children are tomorrow’s future; but how we choose to raise our children determines the outcome of our future. Many believe academics should be stressed more in schools, taking away from children’s playtime. I feel that play is what molds a child. Play allows not only a child’s imagination to run freely, but builds and strengthens children’s motor, language, cognitive, and social emotional development skills. I believe that play; along with parental involvement forms a child’s identity. Play is what makes children: tomorrow’s future.
