A Christian worldview is a theistic worldview in which it is believed everything that exists in because of God. Everything as we know it was created by God himself. Right off the bat the bible says “In the Beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1 New American Standard Bible). The Bible says “God created man in his own image” (Gen 1:27), again showing God is the creator of everything, including humankind. In Rev.4:11, John gives glory to God for creating all things. God created everything, and it is through His will that we exist. Once again, humankind was created in the image of God and were given the responsibility to rule over animals (Gen 2:15), which would insinuate humans to be on a higher level than animals. Mankind

Today, in modern day living, people are talking about either of the two worldviews, and the importance of that chosen worldview. However, one can choose to live by the principles of a secular worldview or a biblical worldview. This study highlights the distinguishable difference between a secular worldview and a biblical worldview, the incorporation of belief and doctrine, and the theories of vocations and the efforts for living righteously.
A worldview is a set of beliefs that a person has that shapes their behavior and how they view the world. It is “an individual’s or group’s perceptual framework” (Johnson, Hill, & Cohen, 2011, p.2). The Christian worldview is like no other because it does not try to pretend that humans are perfect and should be appalled at their behavior or thoughts. According to the Christian worldview, mankind is sinful in nature and there is nothing that can be done to change that. The grace and base in this worldview comes from knowing that the God that created mankind has so much love for it that he sent his only son to die and bear the punishment in place of man so that man would be restored from sin and live an everlasting life with him. The Old Testament of the Holy Bible gives many examples which provide modern man with guidelines for the use of scientific method. Millam (2008) explains that there is an underlying order in nature demonstrated by the patterns and regularities of God’s creations. These regularities can be seen in the forces of nature and are stable throughout space and time (Millam, 2008). The original classification of species, use of precise measurement, and even the first account of scientific research, are all included in the Old Testament of the Holy Scriptures. God gives scientists some clear frames of reference for seeking knowledge and truth in science.
Chapter one discusses what a worldview is and more specifically a Christian worldview. A Christian worldview involves believing in God and that he created the universe which has laws. It also includes finding the ultimate truth in the Bible. God has written his truth in the Bible for us to read about. Not only does the Bible tell us truth, it also shows us what ethics we should have. The character of God shows the moral laws we should believing. Lastly, the Christian worldview states that God created humans in his image, but due to sin it has been temporarily ruined. Since Jesus died on the cross, though, humans can be reconciled to God again. Although, this basic break down of a Christian worldview is helpful, it does not give all the answers.
How did the earth and everything on it come into existence? This is a question, that for the Christian worldview is answered by the Bible, in Chapters 1 and 2 of Genesis. The Bible makes clear to it’s readers that God existed before anything else. The creation account in Genesis 1 splits creation into 6 days and a 7th day of rest. The first day God created the earth and Heaven as well as day and night. The second day God separated the earth from heaven to create the sky. On the third day God separated the waters on earth so there would be dry land. He created plants and trees that could bear fruit and seeds. God made theses plants so that they would be able to keep growing from the seeds that fell from them. On the fourth day God created the
My name is Asia Harvey. I am eighteen years old. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I am a freshman in college majoring in communications. Worldview to me means how everyone in the world interprets reality. I believe everyone has a worldview and it is influenced by our ethics, morals, and family values. It can also be influenced by what we hear, what we read, what we see or who we associate with. Worldview is mostly influenced by religion and science even though, a worldview can and do change. Truly everyone has a worldview, but I have a Christian worldview. My personal worldview is that God has a plan for us even though mankind did fall. God has provided a way for us to be redeem and forgiven. When you have that in mind you understand that man is not perfect and have to be grateful for our savior grace Jesus Christ. Due to the "highly subjective nature of most scientific theorizing... [we should] let the Bible speak for itself and modify our scientific view of origins accordingly." (as cited in Downey, D., & Porter, S., 2009).
So your first question, what is a worldview? Well, Doug, a worldview is what defines a person. So a Christian worldview you learn that sinning is bad and that Jesus is the only way. We use these truths or belief, if you will, to defy our actions, decisions, and even our personality. Of course not everything, it doesn’t defy what you’re going to
Ultimately, a worldview affects a person’s views on history, politics, philosophy, law, science, the world, and especially God. A Christian’s worldview also affects these thoughts and beliefs, but through the lens of Christ.
