Islam and Christianity are two distinct religions, both believe that God is the source of each religion from which their beliefs are derived. Both religions believe that their belief system is the only true way to paradise or heaven. Even though Islam and Christianity believe that God is the source of their beliefs, Islam and Christianity have several similarities as well as many distinct differences.
According to the book Popular Encyclopedia of Apologetics, “The History, doctrines and ethics of Islam are explicitly linked to its founder, a Saudi Arabian tradesman who rose to wealth and prominence, Muhammed” (p. 277). Islamic beliefs were recorded in the Qur’an, Allah’s holy word, and those who follow the Islamic belief system are referred to as Muslims. Muslims believe the purpose of the Islam religion is to communicate the corruption of the Bible to all of mankind. They believe that all of mankind must follow the Five Pillars of Islam; the confession of faith, daily prayers, giving Alms or the poor tax, fasting through Ramadan, and the pilgrimage of Mecca. The purpose of Islam is to do an abundance of good deeds to satisfy Allah so they can earn their place in Paradise and avoid the pits of Hell. Every man who contributed to developing the bible had different lessons and stories of their own with different meanings. The purpose of Christianity according to Weider and Gutierrez (2011) is to “Know God by following His commandments” (p. 60). Christianity believes a person must accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and once Jesus Christ is accepted into a person’s heart, he or she will follow His word in order to lead others to Jesus Christ. Christians worship in churches and listen to the word of God being spoken by the preacher and also have prayer before and after the

Without listing all the common points between Christianity and Islam, we can summarize that Christianity and Islam have the same common aspect in terms of their conception of God, Jesus, sin, faith, forgiveness, God's Word and the Holy Spirit, God’s providence, in the worldwide community of believers joined together by common faith and purpose, in the sharing of God giving possessions, and in the final judgement:
Christianity and Islam are wide spread religions which impact the lives of believers spiritually. Both religions have had substantial impact on the course of history and have formed the basis of many countries laws and are highly recognized by governments. Though Christianity is more widely known, they both pose the same challenges to each other. Considering the similarities and differences of Christianity and Islam, it can be said they are both very different.
Islam and Christianity seem to have very little in common; however, the two actually show strong likeness, principally in the central areas. Both Muslims and Christians are monotheists, believing in one God. While both believe in the same God, He is called by two completely different names. He is referred to as "Allah" by Muslims and "God" by Christians. Although Islam and Christianity are two different religions, their similarities in beliefs and prayers make them comparable in many aspects.
Islam and Catholicism Religion is a collection of beliefs which people can choose to follow. Many people believe in a religion as a way to maintain structure in life. Islam and Catholicism share many similarities in the way they worship. Monotheism is the belief in one and only one God. The followers of both religions believe that their Gods have already laid out their life and they just need to be obedient to Him.
Many religions have impacted the thoughts and beliefs of millions around the world. Two of these religions are Islam and Christianity, both of which are similar, yet, incredibly different. Christianity, which had come long before Islam, is known to be the root of Islam which makes sense since the two religions share much in common. They are both Abrahamic and monotheistic religions which means they share the belief in only one true existing God and are rooted to have many similarities. Their differences, however, are what make them two distinctive religions, which is why they are recognized and classified for being so. Similarities and differences arise in many topics and situations, but differences take over and divide them into
Two of the most practiced and widespread religions in the world, Christianity and Islam, share many of the same ideals and views on God; however, they differ in three distinct ways. Whereas Christians believe in the holy trinity of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, Muslims are strict in their belief of only Allah. In addition, there is dispute amongst the two religions on whether Jesus was actually crucified on the cross. This point ties into the differences in the doctrine of salvation between the two religions. Finally, Christianity and Islam differ in their holy book and practices upon which to become closer to and fulfill his or her duty to god.
Around 64 AD both Paul and Peter were killed for their tireless efforts, to preach and spread the teachings of Jesus, by the Romans under the lordship of Nero who saw Christianity as an affront to the Roman religion. After the deaths of Paul and Peter there were no big names in the Christian religion for quite some time. The Christians had to remain hidden with no outwardly observed celebrations that might shed light on their continued existence as this would swiftly lead to a brutal death. Mainly early Christians would meet in the homes of fellow believers using secret codes and symbols to organize their beliefs which for many reasons over the centuries would seep into the hearts and minds of those in the Roman empire and its official religion. While many had their own specific reasons for joining in worship with the Christians, it is believed that the idea of God being an approachable “Father” figure won over many minds within the Roman empire (Curtis).
Believing in the existence of one God or the oneness of God is monotheism (Theodorus P. van Baaren, 2018). Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all monotheistic, Abrahamic religions meaning that they link back to Abraham. God promised the Jewish people a father figure called Abraham, who is regarded as the first patriarch of Judaism. In Christianity, it is believed that all who have faith are called children of Abraham. Abraham is known as Ibrahim in Islam. He is regarded as an important prophet. Ibrahim's first son Ishmael, is the father of the Arab people (BBC, 2009). Sacred practices are essential in all three religions as through them a belief in one God is demonstrated.
Islam and Christianity are alike in many ways. They have interacted with one another for hundreds of years. Islam and Christianity most likely originated from a single religion that gradually separated as different people viewed things differently and developed different beliefs. However, they both still have many similarities.
Christians believe in one all Holy God,the Holy Book, and God knows all. This religion is monotheistic. Christianity and Islam are alike because they both believe that practicing their faith brings peace and harmony, brings blessings in life and practicing their faith is good for them
There are many different types of religion out there. As a fact, Islam and Christianity do not share the same belief. I believe Islam and Christianity are two different religion. What I’m trying to prove here is the difference between Islam and Christianity.
There are many similarities of the basic beliefs involving both Islam and Christianity. As many may already know, both of these religions believe in scripture, prayer, and have a place of worship. The difference of these facts are how these religions refer to the similarities mentioned. In example, the Islamic scripture is called the Qur’an as the Bible is the scripture used in Christianity. The place for worship is called a Mosque for Muslims were the place of worship for a Christian is referred to as a Church. In addition to these similarities, both of these religions have a worship day. Sunday is the day of worship for Christians as Friday is a day of worship for Muslims.
