Ladies and gentlemen, Chrissie, well, Christina Clark to give her her Sunday name, although she never used it, always known a Chrissie. Chrissie was a bubbly, positive up-beat character, a very sociable character with lots of life long friends, although at 91, I imagine she has outlived a lot of them.

A very family orientated woman who had dedicated her life to taking care of her own, and others, in fact anyone who crossed her path, weather they needed her help or not, she was a very caring person who was very much in the heart of a very large, ever increasing family, who will all miss her very much.

I am John F Brown and I have the privilege to be your Civil Celebrant for our time here today.

Chrissie’s story starts way back in 1926, on the 3rd of March to be precise, and right where she belonged, in Browns Buildings in Westmore, she never really left Westmore, and Browns Buildings was the name of the Colliery Houses her mum and dad were living in at the time she was born, and she was born at home, as many were in the 1020s.

But Chrissie wasn’t the first to come along because her mum Alice, and dad William, although he usually got Will, already had Dougie, her older brother before she came along, and he was quite a bit older than her I believe.

Chrissie’s dad was a miner working at several different mines arround the area over the years, but if you ever asked him where he worked he would always say, under the North Sea, which was true, because many of the coal
