Christmas Eve, oh Christmas Eve
What a magical night
Kids lying in their beds
With sugar plums in their heads
But me I’m in no hurry for sleep
Listening for Santa’s sleigh bell jingling
Looking at the snow outside glistening
Yawn it seems to be getting late
But I won’t go to sleep
I won’t I won’t
I’ll stay up all night on Christmas Eve
Zzzzzzzzzzz
Wake up wake up my sister yells
Its Christmas morning
And Santa’s been here
The presents he left surround the tree
Stockings hung one by one are filled up high
The cookies on his plate are gone
Please tell me it’s a dream
Nope it’s not
Oh man I slept through Christmas Eve
Christmas Carol How does Charles Dickens convey the character of scrooge in the early pages of a Christmas Carol? Charles Dickens, is best known for his host of distinctively cruel, repugnant characters. His father was sent to a Debtors prison taken his son Charles with him
There are those who are quick to get into the holiday spirit, and there are those who blog angrily about how they saw candy canes on the Wal-Mart shelves before Halloween. To satisfy those in the former group, radio stations have been jumping on the 24-hour holiday music train since the mid-1990s. To the disappointment of the latter, the trend is gaining momentum and starting earlier than ever this year.
This show can be seen on TV every Christmas season. Then Ron Howard takes this short film and draws it out to be a two and a half-hour long movie. The worst aspect of the movie is that it makes a mockery of Seuss's main message: “Christmas doesn't come from a store.” This movie is all about selling, from those furry talking Grinch dolls to endless fast-food tie-ins.
Never have I ever seen a car park so busy, but I wouldn't expect any less for christmas eve. Last minute shoppers and people going crazy after the last loaf of bread. Luckily for me and my wife, Molly, we have all of the twins' presents in and wrapped up ready for them to wake upto tomorrow.
The last Thursday in November, also widely celebrated as Thanksgiving in the United States. The smells of sweet corn, stuffing, and mashed potatoes with gravy swirl around the households of many Americans. Thursday night the family cleans their leftover turkey and mashed potatoes off the table while listening to the radio station. An all too familiar genre of music starts to play on the radio. Christmas music has been a tradition for many years in the United States. Radio stations often start playing the catchy holiday jingles the second the average Thanksgiving dinner has ended. However, one song stands out in particular among the rest. Anyone with a radio during the Christmas season has heard this overplayed, subtly disturbing song.
Santa Claus may have come and gone on his yearly journey to reward the well behaved children of the world, yet those who found their way on the naughty list got to answer to Krampus. In the latest video of the the re-worked J Dilla track, "Last Donut," Ensemble Mik Nawooj, bring Krampus to life in the modern era to see that the children aren't terrified of the mythical counterpart to Mr. Claus, and merely a joke to what he once was. The video's perspective is the other side of the Christmas world that isn't in the norm for Western Civilization, and it's otherworldly visuals and concepts tie in perfectly with Ensemble Mik Nawooj's classical track.
“Actually, Grandfather said that no one was having Christmas today.” At Sarah’s blank stare she elaborated. “Grandfather said that no one was happy and that we couldn’t have Christmas until everyone was happy and at home… including Little Sparrow.”
Hurricanes are one of the many natural disasters that can devastate entire cities and even states with their destruction. With that in mind it is extremely important to know how to prepare for a hurricane so people can stay safe. People need to know how and when to evacuate, prep their house, and what supplies they will need.
Merry Christmas! It has been a while Morgan! I’m sure you must miss me – how long has it been? Twenty? Thirty years? Do you remember me Morgan? I was your neighbour back in Townsville and we went to Manorfield Primary School together. I’m sure you don’t know (or remember) a lot about me, but lately, I’ve been hearing a lot from you! Rest assured, its good news. You were promoted to ‘Constable’ just a few months ago right? Heard you’re doing a damn good job. Must be nice, having a good income, a nice little family and generally living a happy and enjoyable life. Brings me back to our days when we were just kids who didn’t know or care how the world revolved. I’m sure you don’t remember me (I already said that) that well so I’ll give you a little
The scent of fresh pine and baked turkey dominates over all senses, surging into the crisp air of the kitchen. Presents are stacked to the brim of the Christmas tree, while a toy train intermittently passes by. Effervescent ornaments sparkle with the memories of past years. Rooms are full with aunts, uncles, distant cousins, all of who push their troubles aside to celebrate this day once a year: Christmas . It is chaos, but the good kind.
As A Christmas Story appears to be set in the mid to late 1940's, during what I must presume is post World War Two due to the lack
It was a cold winter day. I was just trying to keep warm in my living room as I took another sip of hot chocolate. Christmas was just around the corner and we had everything all set up: our lights, our tree, and hot chocolate for at least a month. My mom and I have a tradition of watching christmas specials every night of December, while my dad watches sports in the basement. It’s the same movies and shows every year, but it’s nice spending time with my family.“Scrooged” with Bill Murray was the movie playing. I’ve always been a fan of Bill Murray and the movie was great, but I had homework to do. I migrated to my room where I got comfortable, turned on some christmas music, plugged in my christmas lights, and started my essay. I had to write an opinion piece for journalism. My teacher wants me to write for the newspaper so i really wanted to do well. After about an hour I finished, and was ready to finally go to bed. I jumped into bed and curled up in my blankets. I heard a loud crash come from my closet. “Something probably just fell,” I
I chose to do my multi genre project on the Twenties. The Twenties have also interested me and that unit was by far my favorite this semester, so it only seemed right to go deeper into and expand my learning on it even more. To portray the different changes and new inventions that came about during this era, I did a drawing. In my drawing, there is a young flapper girl and a large thought bubble. Inside this bubble, it shows her reflecting on what has happened during the past ten years.
Imagine a staged production of A Christmas Carol set in 1843. See the stage set in the exact time it was written by Charles Dickens. The foggy, crowded streets abuzz with carolers and shoppers, the children staring wide eyed into the shops and bakeries. Hear the bells ringing as a round of “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” fills the gaslit streets with joy. As a child, going to see A Christmas Carol was one of my fondest Christmas memories. To witness Scrooge 's’ transformation from a mean, greedy old man to a joyous, loving benefactor always left me smiling and filled me with hope.
This Christmas I'm 13 years old. I have been good this year. This year me and my family are going all out for decorations, so maybe you will see our hard work on Christmas eve. Have Candy and Fritz been good this year? I hope you will let her have a much needed break and come spend time with me. I will leave you and your reindeer a special treat if you guys come to my house this year.
