Cloud computing comes into focus only when you think about what IT always needs: a way to increase capacity or add capabilities on the fly without investing in new infrastructure, training new personnel, or licensing new software. Cloud computing encompasses any subscription-based or pay-per-use service that, in real time over the Internet, extends IT's existing capabilities. (Knorr, Gruman) With cloud computing, the company can save on time with the system not becoming overwhelming. I have talked to people in the IT department and every six months they have to dump old files to free space on the main server. Because of this, sometimes the system, our production tools, slows down and causes a chain of decrease work. A lot of the time, the server has to be service because of the increase of files. Due to the fact that our facility is the hub or central located facility, our server is overwhelmed with many files.

In statement, Alijabre writes “Cloud Computing can help business shift their focus to developing god business applications that will bring true business value.” To prove his point Alijabre, uses statistical data gathered from one of big leading providers in Cloud Services. “Although cloud computing has been recognized as a way to improve business, not all businesses are the same. So, is cloud computing for all businesses or is it more beneficial for a certain type of business with certain infrastructure already in place?” To make his argument, Alijabre uses Amazon Cloud Service to give us a better idea the use of cloud computing in business, and what can they do to improve it. What is cloud computing? Cloud Computing is storing and accessing applications and data over the Internet and not locally of your computer’s hard drive. The concept has been around and in use for years. To put it more simply, cloud computing means providing processing power to electronic devices (PCs, tablets, smartphones) via a remote infrastructure. There are some advantages and disadvantages of using cloud computing in a business environment. I will be describing three advantages and three disadvantages of using cloud computing in everyday business.

Cloud computing will cut costs on the front end; but, in the long-term, we will see other expenses. Access control is more difficult due to the external location of the system. Compliance with data storage policies can be a tremendous concern in a cloud computing system; meaning administrators will need to conduct scheduled cleanups of the network.

Also reliability is essential and any potential cloud provider would need to ensure they had distributed systems to ensure if a server failure occurred our company would not come to a standstill. Some vendors do allow options to export data and back this up, however if we were to store the data on our own servers also, this would minimise the actual cost savings and almost nullify the need for cloud computing.

Cloud Computing allows the company to set up what is essentially a virtual office to give you the flexibility of connecting to the company anywhere, anytime. With the growing number of web-enabled devices used in today's business environment, access to company data is even easier. There are many benefits to moving Cameron's Coffee to the cloud.

Cloud computing is an internet based computing which provides various applications and services like storage, servers, infrastructure, networking with low cost, on-demand self service, pay as you go model, location independent resource pooling, reasonable price , rapid elasticity etc. Cloud computing is one way to increase the capacity add capabilities without investing in new infrastructures like computer hardware involves storage memory, licensing for new software, training for a person and in a dynamic way.

Cloud computing is vast and so are the security threats. When a company opts for cloud computing, it will consider the advantages, but some of the companies fail to consider the vulnerabilities that might lead to data lost and misuse.

The definition of “Cloud”, also called cloud computing, is an Internet-based computing that storing, accessing and processing data, resources, and programs on a free or pay-for-use basis to computers and other devices. Late in 1990s, the term “Cloud” was used to present shared resources and data over the Internet between the provider and the end user.

Take an example of a software organization where a customer asked for an application with java platform to fulfill the customer requirement. We cannot by the whole software investing so many bugs instead we can rent it online using cloud. Which is cost effective.

This is one of the biggest pros of having a cloud-based server. Most companies who have switched to a cloud-based platform have done away with their hefty servers, thousands of wires and bulky physical storage units.
