Narrator: For example, as Georgia overcomes various troubles and grows up, she becomes a grown-up woman. This is shown by her costume and makeup. She wears a party dress, which is in contrast with the funny costume at the beginning of the film. She also wears a makeup, which she did not before she meet the male protagonist. According to BAFTA Guru interview with Jill Taylor, the costume designer of the film, she stated: Whatever the directors want, I give him. It’s his film. The director Gurinder Chadha stated in citychanie: For me, I just feel this film really is for anyone who has been a teenager or is a teenager. It takes you back to the roller coaster of being a 15 again. Thus, it shows that the costume definitely shows the coming-of-age

In the 1995 film Clueless, which is loosely based on Jane Austen’s Emma, shows the lives of stereotypical high school teens. This movie entails many interpersonal communication concepts. This movie included interpersonal concepts such as stereotypes, non-verbal communication, self-concept, interpersonal conflict, persuasion, verbal aggression, intercultural communication, perception, and physical appearance.
Movies have the ability to transport people to different times and places and distract them from ordinary everyday reality. They allow for a range of emotions to be experienced. At their core, movies examine the human condition. There are plenty of deeper truths woven into screenplays and plenty of lessons to be learned, even when an individual is solely seeking entertainment.
Although the best reasons for “going to the movies” are to be entertained and eat popcorn, understanding a film is actually quite complex. Movies are not only a reflection of life, they also have the capability of shaping our norms, values, attitudes, and perception of life. Through the media of film, one can find stories of practically anything imaginable and some things unimaginable. Movie-makers use their art to entertain, to promote political agendas, to educate, and to present life as it is, was, or could be. They can present truth, truth as they interpret it, or simply ignore truth altogether. A movie can be a work of fiction, non-fiction, or anything in-between. A film is an artist’s interpretation. What one takes away from a film depends upon how one interprets what has been seen and heard. Understanding film is indeed difficult.

The Filmmakers used a pattern of medium shots followed by closeups at eye level. They then used a cut and a still shot to set the location for the next scene. One of the best examples of this is combined with an appeal to Pathos. Gaudet and Pullapilly start the scene with a still shot of the Bangor Hospital to set the location for
In the essay, “High School Confidential: Notes on Teen Movies,” David Denby argues that teen movies reflect each other and lack originality. To prove his argument, Denby illustrates the majority of teen movie’s typical characters and events such as the antagonists that are the popular rich girl with long blonde hair, a dense quarterback, the geeky protagonist who is usually an outsider with family and/or friends struggles, and the importance of prom night. His purpose is to expose teen movies for having a pattern of cliches and in order to convey his this, Denby addresses the stereotypes and lack of creativity. Denby addresses teenagers and others who had similar experiences in their high school career and appeals to them by using a casual,
The camera follows her at eye level, with just a few steps behind her in which we see how she constantly shifts from left to right and back again in her pursuit. The camera also follows her eye line, quickly reacting by panning or tilting to show the audience what she’s looking at. With shot composition like this, the editing clearly follows the director’s mindset towards this sequence. The transitions between shots vary and are somewhat unexpected. The editor uses a mix of tracking shots and mainly centers around going from widely composed shots to closely composed ones. An example of this is the tracking shot in the scene that shows the path of the cocaine, in a sense. It’s first put into a teddy bear and we then see dialogue serve as a bridge to bring our eyes up to the bunk bed where the woman is working on her contribution. With the woman’s passing of the scissor we then see a man reaching for a suitcase that transitions us down to the woman in the blonde wig yet again. It seems as though objects serve as the transition between shots, continuously connecting rapid cuts and the use of frequent jump

What attracts us to the movie theatre on Friday nights? Is it the commercials we see? Or is it all the gossip we hear from friends and TV talk shows? Well for many, it is the critiques we read and hear almost every day. One who specializes in the professional evaluation and appreciation of literary or artistic works is a critic. The profession of movie criticism is one of much diversity. Reviews range anywhere from phenomenal to average. Not only are movies created for the entertainment and sheer pleasure of the audience, they create a market of jobs and open doors to the world of financial growth. The success of these films, whether they are tremendous or atrocious, is not only dependent of the actual film, but
Clueless is a movie about a young snob, rich, and over confident teenage high school girl named
What is all about life if an individual can’t be able to enjoy, relate well and have fun within his or her social boundaries? The social aspect is what makes a person to expound on the other aspects of life such as the economy, technology, and politics with minimal barriers. Movies connect the living generation with real-life situations, giving ideas on how to embrace it and live well when subjected to such circumstances.
In service of this argument, the essay unfolds in three parts. The first section sketches an appropriate framework for understanding how cinema marshals and moves viewers by engaging them in a fully embodied experience.4 The second section offers a brief overview of the film's plot before turning to an analysis of its triptych narrative and affective development. The third and final section considers the methodological, critical, and theoretical implications suggested by the preceding analysis.
If “seeing is believing”, then how youth is represented in popular films is all true, right? Partying hard, drugs, promiscuity and sour attitude – wrong! The problem is not the unacceptable and risky behaviour, because it only applies to a minority. The real issue is that the way teens are represented on movie screens is unrealistic and over-dramatized which benefits film makers, not the reputation of teens. Right now all we’re seeing are the fictional teens and the false realities that seem to be attached to our popular films.
When a camera angle depicting the action is cut to a differing angle the action is immediately picked up where the previous shot left off showing one continuous action using many different camera angles (Giannetti, 2011) .
