Working in healthcare requires an overall ethical compass to keep the law and order. As a healthcare professional, I rely on Consequential ethics, Normative ethics, and Applied ethics to influence my morality. Consequential ethics, one of the theories that center around achieving the greatest good for most of those involved states that the overall benefits should outweigh the risks. Healthcare is an industry that is patient centered. Organizations such as The Joint Commission apply these ethical standards when surveying facilities and hospitals to give accreditation or penalty. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mission is to collaborate to create information and tools for people and communities to protect themselves through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and the preparedness for new health threats The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention seeks to accomplish its mission by working with partners throughout the nation and the world to monitor health, detect and investigates health problems, conduct research to enhance prevention, develop and advocate sound public health policies, implement prevention strategies, promote health behaviors, foster safe and healthful environments, and provide leadership training. In order for the Centers for Disease to achieve their mission, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relies on external partners including public health association, state and local public health agencies, schools and universities, and volunteer organizations. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a created a set of four health protection goals. The goals are all people especially those at a greater risk of health disparities will achieve their optimal life span, the place where people live, work, learn, and play will protect and promote their health and safety, people in all communities will be protected from infectious, occupational environmental, and terrorist threats, and people around the world will

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay” (St. Jude Research Children Hospital 2017). Subsequently, their mission statement clearly identifies the organization’s reason for being; as a result, they successfully guide and inspire moral conduct. Their mission statement combined with their core values form the core ideology; “Core ideology is the central identity or character of an organization” (Johnson, C. E. 2016).

Today, many Americans are affected by health care decisions made without their prior knowledge. More than likely most Americans are unsure how those decisions are decided and who is responsible for making those decisions that ultimately affect how health care is administered. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the United States government’s principle agency for protecting the health of all Americans and for providing essential human services, especially to those who are unable to help themselves. HHS administrators over two hundred programs and it accounts for almost forty percent of all United States federal government spending. HHS mission is to keep Americans safe and healthy through effective health and human service programs. The department has five strategic goals: strengthen health care, advance scientific knowledge and innovation, advance the health, safety, and well-being of the American people, increase efficacy, transparency, and accountability of HHS programs and strengthen the Nation’s health and human service infrastructure and workforce (Department of Health and Human Services, (n.d.).

One of the subtitles from the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is Modernizing Disease Prevention and Public Health Systems. The National Prevention, Health Promotion and Public Health Council, in consultation with the relevant authorities, are mandated to “develop and make public national prevention, health promotion, and public health strategies and evaluate and revise such approaches occasionally” (Authenticated U.S. Government Proclamation, n.d.). Further this specific part of the Act seeks to promote health goals, along with specified-based initiatives to achieve the measurable goals indicated in Health People 2012. The team of workers in this organization work together and with other centers around the world to collect vital information to help fight and control disease in the human population. This organization also goes an extra step and continues to find cures for diseases that are labeled incurable. There are scientist, doctors, and researchers working around the clock running different test to try and eliminate these diseases. There are centers all around the world that help their local health systems out by funding them and or giving them the resources they need to provide the best quality care to their clients (ZZZ). The Center of Disease Control and Prevention works to control, prevent and treat disease worldwide by using evidence based research. This research is then given to health care systems for nurses and doctors to treat and care for their patients. This gives future nurses as myself reassurance that no matter how bad the world gets, there is a group of workers working to find the results us nurses can use to make our clients

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides us with knowledge on diseases that we have never seen before. They help us determine the next step to prevent the disease from getting worse. Sometimes they are unsure what the next step is. This represents our current state of healthcare in the world. Thee are certain diseases that are catching our attention, for example, the Zika virus, which is a disease that has never seen before in the United States. According to McNeil, the virus is linked to brain damage and causes small heads in infants. The test used shows us results that are unreliable. The current state of healthcare that we have isn’t up to date in figuring out if she has the virus or not. Some women don’t even show the symptoms

Of ethical consideration for public health care professionals (PHP) is to be vaccinated or remain unvaccinated. The ethical principles for vaccination of individuals are based on autonomy and personal feelings. As public health professionals we have a responsibility to protect the public we are serving from infectious diseases and an obligation to serve as roles models for vaccination. The public expects that health care workers (HCW) and public health professionals are responsible in their behaviors and serve in the best interests of the public at large. Best practice evidence confirms that PHP have a moral and ethical obligation to reduce exposure to infectious disease in the populations they are assuming responsibility for. Individual autonomy is sacrificed for the greater good of all whom HCW and PCP are required to protect (Velasquez, Andre, Shanks, & Meyer, 2014). When health care entities such as hospitals and nursing homes implement policies that require mandatory vaccinations for employees they are doing so to safeguard patient care.

The American Marketing Association’s (AMA) Statement of Ethics provides a framework for organizations based on the following core ethical values: honesty, responsibility, fairness, respect, transparency, and citizenship. I believe that The Honest Kitchen is a great example of a highly ethical company that embodies every one of these values. The Honest Kitchen sells high-quality, dehydrated food for dogs and cats. The trust that our clients, communities and our people place in HRTC’s are high standards of ethical behavior. Our Code of ethics guides us, no matter where we are or what we do. It 's how we do business. Our Code of Conduct reflects the significant changes in our world, the very nature of our work and how we do business. We are trusted professionals that understand how to continue to behave ethically in all business affairs. That Code is our tools that guide our decision making.

These two organizations have a similar functional and structural governmental level; both organizations tend to overlap on health care issues, diseases, preventions and education. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention overlooks researches of new vaccines on a specific outbreak. It maintains static information of a given outbreak within a population and maintains up to date information of the progress and outcome of such outbreak. When an outbreak occurs, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention starts an investigation on how the outbreak began, the near by population is informed of such outbreak; the CDC takes preventive measures to ensure that the unaffected population is not affected. Once the outbreak is under control and the source is identified the CDC works towards providing the community with enough information about the preventive measures. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also gives information about the source of the outbreak. This information is forward it to the Food and Drug Administration in order to start a recall product if the source is food or drug related.

A breach is a failure to do what is required by a law, an agreement or a duty. It is a failure to act in a required or desired way. This means that breaches occur when legislative requirements are not complied with.
