For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been told that attending college is the best thing I can do for myself and my future. My parents were very adamant about furthering my education and had me thinking about college and my future the second I was able to comprehend what they were talking about. While they have always been supporters of earning a college degree, not every parent is, and it’s not just parents that don’t think it’s worthwhile. There are many different types of people that find college to be a waste of time and money and that it doesn’t do anything for those who desire to be successful. So what’s the right answer? Is there one? Across the country, opinions on whether college is worth it seems to be divided and is a constant argument about who is right. The first side of this argument is those who favor college and think it is worthwhile. To begin, the biggest concern with college is that it’s too expensive, but Forbes.com states that it doesn’t have to be an expensive experience. Anyone is able to attend a community college before a four-year college and anybody is able to apply for the hundreds of thousands of scholarships that are available. It’s also possible that your college will work with you to find different ways to be able to pay for college and graduate with less debt in student loans.
