Communication and Professional Relationships: One of the most important roles of teachers is helping children to develop positive relationships with others. For children, this process involves learning cognitive skills while at school and learning how to work and play in collaboration with others. In order for teachers to pass skills on communication and professional relationships with children, young people, and adults; they should be good role models. This involves demonstrating an understanding of the boundaries of information that can be communicated and the significance of adhering to school policies around confidentiality. Therefore, communication and professional relationships with children, young people, and adults require an understanding of certain principles, how to communicate, and policies for confidentiality and information sharing. Principles of Developing Positive Relationships: The process of developing positive relationships requires effective communication, where an individual expresses and models proper communication skills. Effective communication only occurs when there are positive relationships as parents and other adults are likely to provide beneficial support in school when there is strong and effective communication.
