Communism is a philosophy and form of government that has been used all over the world. It was created by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. For the most part it has failed to build stable and prosperous nations. What factors caused communism to fail? Can we identify those factors and avoid it entirely? We must try to, and preserve our successful form of government.
The creators of communism are Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. Karl Marx was born on May 5, 1818 into a well off German family. He eventually attended university and this is when his interest and critique of religion and government began. When he went to university he joined the Young Hegelian movement, and he produced a radical critique of Christianity (Kreis, 2000). After the critique in the Young Hegelian movement he became an editor for Rheinische Zeitung powerful liberal newspaper. After some controversial articles by Marx the Prussian government shut it down. He then went to France. During his time in France he "became a communist and set down his views in a series of writings known as the Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts (1844), which remained unpublished until the 1930s." (Kreis, 2000). The writings explained his disdain for capitalism, and how he thought communism would fix all of capitalism's problems. He moved to London where he wrote “The Communist Manifesto” and “Das Kapital” which explained his ideology.
Maybe the failure of the communist model of government is based on the fact that humans have become more and more materialistic. Many humans believe that the more they, the richer they are, and the happier they will be. The truth of the matter is that, obtaining that “material” leads to most ethical and moral problems in other political systems. Hence, bringing the crime level to high and making ethics and morals a big issue. People have the impression that communism government equals a poor society and being poor signifies unhappiness.
After being expelled from France for exhibiting communist traits, Marx was drafted in 1847 by the newly founded Communist League in London, England, alongside Engels to write “The Communist Manifesto,” published the following year (History.com Staff 2009). They predicted that the upcoming proletarian revolution would sweep aside the capitalist system for good, making the workingmen the new ruling class of the world (History.com Staff 2009)..

I don’t know what to write. Karl Marx essay, Communism, he was an atheist, he was once a Jew. He wanted everyone to be equal. He believed in the power of money. Government? Did the government control all the wealth? Was it the people? Trade? Wow that really helped. Maybe I should try this in my writing. Anyway, so Karl Marx wanted us all to be equal. No poor people. Religion is a cover up. So is democracy.

After that Marx moved to France, where in a few months he became a communist. He developed his ideas in his writings, which he titled Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts. It was in Paris that Marx met his partner for life Friedrich Engel’s. Both of them moved to Brussels, and visited Engel’s family in England from time to time.
