A community based project that I would like to start would be on the effectiveness of assistance programs for low-income families in rural areas. This project would analyze and compare the current status of the population being studied to its pervious status. Participants may include local community members who have utilized the assistance programs, and those who work or collaborate within the assistance programs. The main objective of this project would be to identify the effectiveness of this assistance program, its usage rate, any deficiencies or errors, and if it has had a significant impact on the status of the population being studied.
The first step of the research process would be to identify the focus area. After identifying this focus area, clear goals and/or objectives that researchers aim to meet would be developed. Development of research groups, leaders, recruitment of participants, and decisions about what and when methodologies should be utilized to collect and review data; follow the development of objectives, and format the action plan. Implementation of those methodologies and collection of data are performed during the action plan phase of the research project. The evaluation phase may involve researching data collected during the action plan phase, noting positivity’s, errors, and/or

Researcher’s encounter difficulties during implementation and/or while performing methodologies may also reference action research findings for clarity or solutions. Researchers may benefit from previous action research findings when attempting to determine what has improved or decreased in their action researcher findings, while performing evaluations. While revising action research action plans, researchers may also reference previous action research findings to determine if any alterations or revisions need to be

I plan to use the input and assistance of my principal, administration, and other colleagues to assist me with necessary portions of my action research project. I will develop a written plan of action further in the project, monitor the project reflective, and prepare a research summary research report of the results of my action research project addressing the effectiveness of the implementation of the PBIS program at Otter Creek Middle School. My plans are for my research to be implemented further along with my principal internship after I have completed the course as well.
The organization I choose is Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center Redding (MMCR), located in Northern California. MMCR 2014 Community Health Needs Assessment Report is easy to read and understand. They provided the picture of the community they are serving and what are the problems that need priority. The hospital catered on communities in Shasta, Tehama and Trinity County. What I noticed is that the community they are serving is mostly Caucasian (79.6%), only 11% Hispanic. Out of the 209, 900 population, 17.3% were uninsured, 21.7% on Medi-cal with 10.9% unemployment rate. Most of the people seeking medical help go to the Emergency Department for non-acute medical services. MMCR priority is to have a community-based collaboration with other non-profit organization will address the existing problem the community is facing and to provide a long-term plan that will benefit the community in the future.
In order for a researcher to conduct an action research analysis several factors must be determined. The specific purpose for the research, the components, and stakeholders. My action research project is to address a specific problem my agency has with employee retention within the patrol division during the past three years. In conducting a critical mass analysis it is important to determine who has influence and can assist with making suggestions on changes or give necessary data. Stringer (2007) states, "action research is a systematic approach to investigation
The objectives and scopes of the research are also defined. This chapter also describes the methodology to carry out and accomplish the objectives.
