America is most prevalently associated with the opportunities that the country has to offer its citizens. From the early times when America was just a mere land across the Atlantic Ocean, It was still a mere land but the Europeans found hope within the land. Hope that also lead the Great Migration, which consisted of desperate Europeans in a boat crossing the treacherous Atlantic ocean in a hope for a new beginning. The Europeans worked hard and turned America to one of the greatest nation. From the start gaining its independence from England, which at the time had one of the best military power, was an amazing feature alone. By overpricing post secondary school, we make it so that education is not as accessible. Currently a bill has been proposed to make for a free two year community college program. At this time this program is being tested in Tennessee, and it is believed by many that this can be extremely beneficial for our country and economy. The program is already showing great promises “In Tennessee, almost 90 percent of graduating high school seniors have signed up for its new universal community-college program”(Kahlenberg). America at this given moment is a country faced with thirteen trillion dollars debt; it is believed that the installation of this program could help to manage that debt. Also, it is believed that a benefit could be the elimination of inequality. Finally, this would immediately help current college students so that they could obtain a proper post secondary school education. Conclusively, the bill proposed to grant students free two years of community college proves to be beneficial in the respects that it helps Americans receive a college education, will help the American economy, and will help bring equal opportunities to …show more content…
