Downtown buildings surrounding the court house appear to be of older status while construction of new buildings surrounding these are in process. Most of the county operated buildings are located in downtown Green Bay. Many of the recent houses built in the county over the past 10 years are single open concept brick homes with poured foundations while most of the older houses are single or multifamily stucco or vinyl homes with block foundation. Over the past few years it has become increasingly popular to utilize solar panels. Many of the homes, duplexes, or apartments downtown and surrounding the downtown area are older, rundown, and cost less to buy or rent. Windows are cracked, broken, or missing, doors have chipped paint, sidewalks cracked, yards are cluttered with junk, and many potholes are present. Houses, duplexes, and apartments further away are newer, cleaner, nicer appearance, and cost more. Yards are well maintained, sidewalks are undamaged, no broken windows or doors, and paint is intact. The county has streets both with and without sidewalks. Throughout various parts of the county, walking and bike trails are present. Many bus stops are available for transportation, however individuals do like to travel by bike and walk when weather permits. City signage is present throughout, as well as community signage. I did my study for this assignment in Stokes County, North Carolina which is where I recently moved to from Iowa. Stokes County is made up of several small towns but King, which is where I live, is the largest town. Stokes County is in the middle northern part of the state near the Virginia border, a mountain chain, and a lot of wilderness. Some of the towns are incorporated and some are not and a few only claim to be villages. Using the Population Economic Status Assessment, I looked at the State & County Quick Facts last revised: Feb-2015 and found that the county population is at about 46,588. Assessing the reasons for starting university and choosing Mental Health Nursing I have to reflect back on my past. Through my two years at college I had to overcome barriers which I feel contribute to the qualities which will allow me to become an effective Mental Health Nurse. In my first year of college I had to emotionally support my family due to my father being ill. This put a strain on my college and I was only able to do work in the hours I was in college. However, I found a way to make it work to ensure everything I did was too a high standard and of good quality. During this period of time I had to construct an effective way of managing my time. On average one individual will use thirteen different strategies for time management, (Dovico.com, 2015) the strategies found most effective was a study guide which helped me plan out how many hours of coursework I needed to complete to ensure my work was off high quality and standard, I found the Open University websites the most useful resource for time management.
