The bear have evolved along time ago and now there is only eight species existing. They evolved from early canids during the late Oligocene and early Miocene, about 25 million years ago. The earliest ancestors where the Dormaalocyon Latouri. An intermediate ancestor was the short faced bear, very similar to the modern day bear. It lived through the pleistocene period. It grew to thirteen feet long and was a herbivore. The ancestors to the modern day bears lived in the same climate and ate the same things. The modern bear contrast from the ancestor because the ancestor was more skinny and was smaller, and it was more cat like. The eight species of bear that still exist. They are the Polar bear, Brown bear, American black bear, Asian
The trophy hunting of at-risk grizzly bears is a controversial topic in Canada. It is part of the Canadian cultural inheritance. Hunting grizzly bears are considered to be a legitimate recreational activity in some parts of Canada. They inhabit in the forest and near the costal line. The numbers of bear reached tens of thousands before, but because they are fierce and threatening human beings, they are being hunted and killed. Also, the low mortality rate of grizzly means low population, but they play a critical role as a predator in the ecosystem. The problem is over-hunting and industrialization will cause extinction of this rare species, and lead to disharmony between the government and First Nations. I mainly support the ban of grizzly
Hello, you are probably wondering why do I want to learn about the Kermode bear.

The entire state of Alabama thought “[Coach Bear] was wonderful,” (Bragg). Coach Bear got his nickname by wrestling a carnival bear when he was a boy, making Bear not only like a hero, but a figure to look up to as well. Coach Bear was Alabama’s head coach for a 25 year span, from 1958 to 1982. During that span, he led Alabama to 323 total game wins, including seven national championships and 15 bowl wins. Not only was it just Tuscaloosa, Alabama that praised Bear, but it was the whole state of Alabama itself. The entire state has record of families naming 350 children after Coach Bear during his 25 year coaching span. When Cole Mathews was sent to the remote Alaskan island he viewed it as a game, but it isn’t. Upon arrival Cole started off by burning down his shelter by using the white gas for his lantern and a match, which doesn’t serve him well in the long run. He has also encountered the Spirit Bear many times in the first few days and he even created weapons to try to kill it. After trying to throw a homemade spear at the Spirit Bear from point blank a lopsided match occurs between Cole and the suddenly ferocious bear. The Spirit Bear beats Cole to the edge of death and leaves Cole desperate to survive on the ground. Cole fights to survive by scrounging up anything he can find to eat, he starts by eating worms from the wet soil and slowly progresses.

Black bears are the smallest North American bears however; they are the largest land mammal in New Jersey. Black bears evolved in thick forest and live in mixed hardwood forests, dense swamps and forested wetlands. They naturally like to eat fresh leaves, berries, fruits, nuts, roots, insects, bird eggs and small mammals. Black bears are generally solitary animals, with the exception of a sow and her cubs. They tend to be crepuscular, meaning they are most active shortly before sunrise and again after sunset. Black bears are typically not aggressive and tend to be wary of humans.
A partnership requires four simple rules, “It must be an association of two or more people, carrying on a business; of co owners, and for profit. (Cheeseman 2006, pg 374) In the case of “Bears Are Us” they qualify as a partnership. Paul and Pete have verbally agreed to share responsibilities in the business and are doing so by sharing roles and responsibilities. Pete and Paul are more than one, have equal say in management decisions, the business has grown into more than a “spare time devotion,” and they receive profit and salary; therefore, they have reach all qualifications of a formation of partnership.
When most people hear the word black bear, they think about the cute little cubs, running around and playing with each other, and not what makes them such intriguing animals, considering they are only found in North America, and are the smallest of the bear family.
The black bear is one of the most common bears in the U.S.A. Even though the black bear is one of the three smallest bears, it has great claws and amazing climbing ability. Experts estimate that about 80,000 black bears die each year in the U.S.A. This animal, the black bear, is threatened and should be saved.
Despite the stereotype of black bears being a threat to one’s safety, Animal-zone explains how black bears are actually very gentle, joyful animals that have a predictable behavior. Black bears live all around the world. Black bears, like all animals, have unique characteristics, behave differently as male or female, exhibit special adaptations and live in several types of habitats. Black bears have various characteristics to help them flourish in the wild.
Grizzly bears have had to adapt when the weather is off like having a warm winter it sets their internal clock off to where when they should be hibernating they are still out or cold weather comes late they are already awake from hibernation or cold weather comes to to early and they aren’t hibernating. They also have to deal with man made disasters like oil spills or fires, both can kill bears and kill what they eat like fish which could then kill the bears if they can not eat enough food because their immune system will deteriorate and kill them. Grizzly Bears are divergent because recent studies have shown that some grizzly bear’s mothers are polar bears and fathers are grizzly bears. This means that the fathers travel long distances to mate with mother polar bears. The most recent studies have suggested that they have been divergent from about 150,000 years ago. (Tia Ghose) Past research revealed that brown bears on ABC Islands, off the southeastern coast of Alaska, had mitochondrial DNA that look just like polar bear DNA.(Mitochondrial DNA comes only from the mother and is carried in the cytoplasm in the cell’s energy-making structures called mitochondria.) (Tia

The polar bear, the largest land carnivore in North America, one of the largest animals in the world and a favorite at zoos worldwide, has, over the years, adapted to its harsh Arctic environment. The appropriately named ‘ursus maritimum’ or sea bear usually lives between 15 and 18 years in the wild and spends most of its life on ice. It is the most recent of the eight bear species. The first polar bear was a brown bear subspecies, with brown bear dimensions and brown bear teeth. The polar bear evolution was rapid due to the small population and extreme pressure to survive. Even today, the polar bear continues to evolve to better adapt to the harsh realities of Arctic life.
