America’s love affair with pickup trucks is a strong one. During the last recession it looked as if the segment might not recover from its beat down as sales fell to less than half their historic highs. But don’t tell that to the millions of Americans who cannot imagine life without their Fords, Rams, Chevrolets and GMCs as well as their Nissans and their Toyotas. Pickup trucks are the most versatile vehicles on the market, doing triple duty as a family carrier, a truck hauler and as a trailering maven. There are no other vehicles on the market as versatile and when some models are also outfitted with advanced technologies and high-end cabins, there is yet another reason for people to consider one. GMC Sierra Double Cab GM has been shipping a variety of GMC and Chevrolet pickup trucks to me, especially in the past year. I’ve driven the …show more content…
Perhaps the most fascinating matter about the Sierra is that it was dressed entirely in black — including the bumpers, the side mirror cladding, the door handles and the wheels. A sporty look no doubt and quite unusual for a GMC. The upgrades were apparent too, what took the base $30,695 sticker price and added $5,425 worth of options. Those options included replacing the base 4.3-liter V-6 engine with the small-block 5.3-liter V-8 engine ($1,095). Both engines come paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. You have to choose the 6.2-liter V-8 to get the eight-speed automatic. A spray-on bed liner added $475, but it was the Elevation edition ($3,855) that added the special goodies. Such goodies included 20-inch, black painted wheels, halogen projector headlamps, front fog lamps, power heated side mirrors, and all the black cladding spoken about earlier. That blackness extended to the grille and with the LED lights on, they provided a distinctive

What do you drive? Americans have loved vehicle for almost a hundred years and everyone has their favorite brand. Mention trucks and people’s favorite brand becomes very evident. When it comes to trucks people have several options that will get the job done. Two of the most popular trucks are Fords and Chevy’s.
There are more than 253 Million cars and trucks in the U.S at this moment. That sounds like a lot but really it isn’t that many. For every 1.3 cars or trucks there is only one person in the United States. With this many cars and trucks in the U.S. there is bound to be some controversy about which one is better. Many people may prefer trucks over cars and in vice versa. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. While trucks are better at hauling or towing things, cars have better gas mileage and can hold more people.
Chevrolet has added many options to the lineup for the new trucks this year. A new and improved traction controlled system has been added as well as Stabilitrak Electronic Stability Control System and power side view mirrors. As far as the interior goes, there is always the option of having leather seats but this year Chevrolet added heated seats for the driver and passengers of the vehicle as well as satellite radio. Axles on the new Silverado’s have been upgraded to 9.5 inch axles.
A $2,270 in essential options is a must if you are really after the all American Sports car: 17-inch alloy wheels with high performance rubber, black leather sport bucket seats, stereo upgrade, all speed traction control (defeatable), and convenience package. The grand-total including destination is a reasonable $25,140.
The most visible change in telling the difference in a 1968 from a 1967 was the addition of side-marker reflectors on all fenders. Also, the small rear window cab was no longer available. Another addition was the Custom Comfort and Convenience interior package that was better than the Standard cab and more low class that the CST cab options. C10 or K10 models could be manufactured with either a 115-inch wheel base with a 6 1/2-foot cargo box or 127- inch wheelbase with an 8-foot cargo box available in Fleet side or Step side models. Standard Features included Full-width seat with vinyl trim, deluxe air heater/defroster, backup lights, painted front bumper because chrome bumpers are not considered “standard”. Also the 1968 Chevy trucks came with a 2-speed windshield wiper and directional signals. For about 160 dollars more, the CST (Custom Sport Truck) package could be ordered which had all of the features listed above, plus Western style vinyl seats, roof rim molding, carpeting for the floor panels and also for the gas tank, and break and gas pedal
I own a 1979 F150 XLT Ranger. Before the Ranger became a compact truck, it was full size. Mine happens to be 4 wheel drive. I love it. I have been the proud owner for 15 years. I will never sell it. It is too easy to keep runnin'. Parts are affordable, and it is EASY to work on. Any of you who own and older Ford truck know what I'm talking about. So here is my tribute lens to the Ford truck.
Have you ever wondered what is the best truck? Is it the Ford F-150, Ram 3500, GMC Sierra 3500 or Chevy Silverado 3500? I think it is the Chevy Silverado. Although the Ford GMC and Ram has some things that are better than the Chevy.I think the Chevy is the better truck. The Chevy Silverado 3500 is better than the Ford F-150,GMC Sierra 3500 and the Ram 3500. The Chevy Silverado has 420 Horsepower, it has 15 to 21 miles per gallon, and it can tow 23,200, it can tow 23,000 lbs.
I've always had this love for huge trucks. And my favorite line so far? Kenworth, perhaps. That's why when a friend asked me if I can make one more review of another used Kenworth vehicle, I immediately said 'sure'.
for a powerful and dependable truck that will meet the needs of the hardest working-man.
An upgraded engine option is available on some packages. This turbocharged 1.4 liter in-line 4 produces 138 horsepower, 148 pound-feet of torque, and gets an estimated 24 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on the highway. This engine model is available in a 6 speed automatic
In fact, a plush interior combined with a full box frame gives you a comfortable and stable ride. The suspension system helps the truck hug the road and the Electric Power Steering offers solid command of the truck regardless of the road conditions. The interior has 41.4 inches of headroom and 45 inches of legroom, which is three more inches than the competition. Add cockpit style instrument panels and you get comfort and styling. In order to reduce outside noise, General Motors added thick glass in the windshield and side glass, doors that have been triple sealed and a sound deadener liquid. That type of noise reduction only enhances the great sound system from
