Ritu Kumar’s USP is aari and zardozi work.
Ritu Kumar implemented this embroidery heavily in some suits and sarees. In deep, rich colours like dark fuchsia, maroon, and orange, this gold zardozi work makes for a heavy ensemble.
Her established forte is the blend of traditional Indian designs with the lines of international fashion which targets the young global Indian woman with a modern lifestyle.
She has sought to redefine age-old Indian traditions in the contemporary era/creating a style that is both rich in Indian aesthetics and modern sophistication.
Manish Malhotra is an expert in designing sari. The series comprises of fresh and very elegant designs of saree with eastern culture blended with some western touch.
Not only women, but even the outfits worn by several male Bollywood actors have been innovatively designed by him, which has made him an iconic fashion designer.
His collections for both men and women can be donned during any season of the year, as they can mold well under any climatic condition.
He has successfully maintained the delicate balance between designing for films, as well as haute couture.
Mughal architecture, traditional craftsmanship and the rich cultural heritage of India has always inspired Dongre and all her collections reflect this love and admiration. She keeps going back to her roots i.e. the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan, India in search for her design
In 1930, a group of French-trained artists, combined the design of the five-panel gown and French fashion dresses, which transformed in today’s Ao Dai.
The art depicts to me the Indian life cycle and religious perspective when she poses in different forms which she depicts with her hands and feet (Shiva). According to MFAH bulletin board, it explains the nonverbal poses that “Shiva Nataraja” makes such the little man underneath her feet is “Apasmara” resembles the human race “ignorance, forgetfulness, and recklessness”, and one of her hands depicts holding a “…drum…beat of this drum signifies the sound of creation” and her large third eye resembles the looks between “truth” and “illusion” (Shiva). Also, it amazes me the vivid image the artist presented from this bronze statue of “Shiva Nataraja” which depicts in a live and dynamic form.

Torrid is all about the fashion for Plus-Size style and trendy clothes for women. Box Lunch has apparel, gifts, gadgets, & more that also helps provide a meal to a person in need with every purchase and finally Lovesick is young, trendy, affordable fashion & accessories for curvy girl’s sizes 10-26.
Dinnigan possesses a common trademark of femininity, with dresses of chiffon, lace and tulle, eloquently tailored to perfection. Her designs regularly feature beading are constructed from the finest delicate sheer & lace fabrics. Silk organza and other lightweight silks are a favourite of Dinnigans. She manages to achieve all this with a suggestive rather than revealing style, which enables her garments to communicate a sensuality and individuality. Dinnigan depends heavily upon her own imagination, creating and materializing fashion in ways her imagination wants things to come to light.

The fashion industry is rapidly growing and constantly generating new fashion trends almost weekly. Fashion for some may seem ridiculous and unnecessary; but fashion is not just a meaningless usage of article of clothing or farcical materials sew together for coverage. There is more to fashion than meets the eyes, fashion is precious and significant. It is a reflection of self-image, it speak the ream about who we are and how we review ourselves. Not only is fashion the reflection of self-image but also the reflection of our history as Coco Channel have said, “Fashion is not something that exist in dresses only. Fashion has been around ever since ancient times, since the time of the Romans, it survived the world wars and is yet today a business with rapid changes. Fashion started off as an art form, a way for the riches to show their social status with unique and innovative designs that only they could afford. It was a way to separate the social classes of the society. In this paper I will include the creator of haute couture, and how the following designers developed couture, as well as having leading names in today’s ready-to-wear industry. The list is long, but I chose to focus on the three most important designers of the modern fashion industry.
Elie Saab developed an interest on fashion starting from early ages. Built his first atelier only at the age of 18. His passion for fashion and haute couture grew in the following years and has dedicated himself to his brand from design to brand and customer communications .According to him :“Couture was a creative engine for the entire brand, a marketing tool for foundation of an image on a profound long term level.”
The Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM) is a tool that compares the firm and its rivals and reveals their relative strengths and weaknesses (Competitive Profile Matrix, 2013, October 29). These factors are influenced by external and internal challenges. The illustrated CPM below compares Domino’s Pizza with two of its top competitors, Pizza Hut and Papa John’s. The results of the CPM give Domino’s Pizza a 3.3, which is above average in its respective industry. The firm also has high market share. There is an opportunity to improve areas of product expansion and effective advertising. A strong social media presence will also help increase brand loyalty and give the firm the competitive advantage.
This work is an introduction to the fashion industry of Pakistan which has made quite a lot of progress in just a few years. Ten to fifteen years from now, this industry was still unknown to actually exist to the masses. Later with the formation of fashion councils and education centers under the enthusiastic few who wanted to make a difference and promulgate this very institution of fashion, did the very fashion industry took its concrete contour from the old tailor culture that formerly existed. Today it is one of the most progressing industries in the country.
