The Corvette From Beginning To Future
The corvette was first introduced in January 1953. To experiment with the car, they only made 300 cars, which were all made by hand and powered by a 235-cubic-inch 6-cylinder engine. The corvette was designed to show the world that General Motors could make a sports car that was a stylish two seater. All 1953 corvettes were polo white with red interiors. The engine of the car generated 150 horsepower and had a 2-speed power glide automatic transmission. Researchers have found that the first corvette has been known to go over 150 miles per hour.
In 1956 the corvette received its first major styling update. The major changes are an all-new body style with “scooped out” sides, outside door, handles,

The 2003 Caravan is the highlight of the Corvettes future. This car is being made in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Corvette. Right now is car is so secretive that there are no pictures of it and very little details about it. All that I know about it is that it is coming out in June of 2003. Also the 2004
Another reason that this car is a beast is that this is a car that came late in the muscle car game. The Mustang, GTO, and the Camaro are already
This paper is an evaluative look at why the Chevrolet Corvette is one of the greatest sports cars in the world. Sports cars can be judged in three areas; cost, performance, and comfort, each area will be evaluated as to why these criteria are important, with examples shown to for definition. The Corvette will be shown how it compares in regards to the measurements, and in some cases exceeds them. Showing why it should be considered a great sports car
Engines. Unlike mustangs Camaro had appearance and performance. The first model of Camaro was the SS or the super sport it had a 350 cubic inch engine with 295 horse power which is about 14 more than the
The third aspect to consider is comfort, whether cruising the boulevard on Saturday night or stuck in traffic on a Monday morning, pony cars have always been about comfort. Getting from point A to point B cannot include a jarring ride or an assault on the senses for the more mainstream small-engine cars. This is an area where both Camaro and Mustang have made great strides, equaling the best midsize sedans for front-seat room and ease of access to
One interesting fact about 60’s Corvette is in the 60’s it could hit up to 350 HP, which is a lot for the cars back then. The base engine included plain painted steel valve covers with the same parts as a Chevrolet. Harley Earl was the creator of The corvette company from 1893 ~ 1969 (VetteFacts.com). The Corvette used the same exact parts as the regular Chevrolet
Over the past sixty years, the American car scene has been dominated by two completely different vehicles and the entire communities that believe in them. Both designed, founded, and rooted in Detroit, Michigan, the Ford Mustang and the Corvette have continued to fuel the chase for the label of America’s true muscle car. The question over the years has been, why and how do consumers choose which to own, and which one is our “bald eagle”? Investigating deeper into the roots of each American superpower, it all began with introduction of something that would change the automotive industry forever. “Corvette: Dream Car Come True”, is an article that highlights the beginning of the car movement in the United States: the birth of Chevrolet’s Corvette. “Born in 1953 at the General Motors plant in Flint, Michigan, the Corvette grew up on the raceway and has ruled the road ever since” (Seiden 14). The article also goes on to mention that “the Corvette is not for racers only. True car lovers own Corvette cars for everyday driving… and the highest performance standards have been built into every model” (Seiden 14). Early dominance of Corvettes on and off the racetrack, led other competitors such as Ford Motor Company wonder why and how the Corvette could be out-driven and out-sold. Directly opposing the release of the Corvette and its multipurpose ingenuity “Lee Iacocca, then general manager of Ford Motor Company, challenged his design team to create a car that could be driven ‘to
Like the Mustang GT, the Camaro SS has a huge fuel-injected V-8. The engines on each of these living beasts, pump out well over 250 horsepower. Both muscle cars have excellent 0-60 times in the five-second range and with quarter mile times within the fourteen-second range, give or take a second. There are drawbacks to every good thing. The Camaro and Mustang are primarily two seaters with minimal room in the back for an adult. Children are perfect fits, although adults can ride in the back, it makes for a very cramped ride. Both of the muscle cars are excellent examples of competitive pricing, with the Mustang GT retailing for $25,140 and the Camaro for $29,656. This just goes to show that you don't need to spend more than $75,000 for a top of the line sports car. The Camaro and Mustang out perform some of their more expensive brother and sisters like the Viper.
Next, came the Chevrolet Camaro. When the team of specialists and engineers at GM got there head together, they formed one of the best sports cars to date: The Chevrolet Camaro. When the Chevrolet Camaro was first introduced back in 1967, it was not thought very much of. The Ford Mustang had been out on the market now for quite some time and had made a very good impression on its buyers and the spectators. After General Motors pushed the sales campaign and got the first few buyers to commit they were hooked from day one. The word of mouth quickly spread of the sheer enjoyment of the Camaro vs. the Mustang. The Chevrolet Camaro provided a cheaper and better all around alternative to the Mustang. The Camaro came with loads more options and not to mention the stand features alone out did the Mustang's. The biggest reason for sales increase was the power delivered by the Camaro. The Camaro was able to astonish the buyers with loads of power, given the time period, for a cheaper price of the Mustang. Chevrolet too competes with Ford in the bigger and better race to a super sports car. Once such creation is a 600 HP Big Block Camaro. The Camaro was developed as more of a show car to show people what can be accomplished with aftermarket products as well as the time and effort to put into a car. The horsepower that the Camaro develops is unbelievable. "Horsepower builds with straight-line progressivity from 2,000 RPM (187-HP) to 6,000 RPM (600 angry ponies)" (Karr 48 -
The most visible change in telling the difference in a 1968 from a 1967 was the addition of side-marker reflectors on all fenders. Also, the small rear window cab was no longer available. Another addition was the Custom Comfort and Convenience interior package that was better than the Standard cab and more low class that the CST cab options. C10 or K10 models could be manufactured with either a 115-inch wheel base with a 6 1/2-foot cargo box or 127- inch wheelbase with an 8-foot cargo box available in Fleet side or Step side models. Standard Features included Full-width seat with vinyl trim, deluxe air heater/defroster, backup lights, painted front bumper because chrome bumpers are not considered “standard”. Also the 1968 Chevy trucks came with a 2-speed windshield wiper and directional signals. For about 160 dollars more, the CST (Custom Sport Truck) package could be ordered which had all of the features listed above, plus Western style vinyl seats, roof rim molding, carpeting for the floor panels and also for the gas tank, and break and gas pedal

I own a Ford truck. So I know what I am talking about when I speak on this subject. I agree with the Ford Truck commercials. The best selling, best built trucks in America. I really can't speak to the quality of today's Ford truck, however. With all the changes in the industry, changes within Ford itself, not to mention today's disposable society...
The Mustang got its name from the World War II P-51 Mustang fighter plane (Harris). The “five generations” evolved each year model until, in response to the 1971-1973 models, Ford returned the car to its original size and concept in 1974 (Bowling). The first generation of the Mustangs appeared in 1964 and lasted through 1973. On March 9, 1964,

You have agreed to buy a new Subaru from a dealer. The down payment you will need to make on the new car is $9,400, which lets you take out a loan with manageable (but steep) monthly payments. You are low on ready cash, so if you can't come up with the down payment by selling your Volkswagen Jetta, you will have to borrow it at prime plus 5% interest. You are supposed to pick up the Subaru first thing tomorrow morning, so you want to sell the Jetta today.
