This reflective memo has been composed to discuss my experience with developing a new resume using the information I’ve learned in a Professional Writing course. With this assignment, I was encouraged to explore beyond my comfort zone, and as a result I located a job I may actually consider applying too. While the position in sales is a bit out of my reach currently, the only obstacle is the distance as the company is located in Texas. In order to find sources for my paper, I used several websites and two books. I also used a scholarly journal I found through Library databases. I actually gathered a lot of research on the topics of rhetoric and political campaigns, but the sources I used were ones that were related to my thesis. This is to inform that I have received information that the home where Mary Kate was supposed to be residing 4550 Teasdale Street with her Resource Parent has not been certified due to the fact that Mary Kate and her Resource Parent, Ms. Heidi Boggs, moved to different locations. Later, Ms. Boggs informed me that she assisted Mary Kate with obtaining and apartment located at 3054 Richmond Street. Although I was able to see Mary Kate at this new place, I informed both, Ms. Boggs and Mary Kate that this was not part the court agreement nor was this an approved SIL apartment.

A well written resume contains a summary of responsibilities and a duty of a positon held and holds the success of finding a job. According Portal.csuglobal.edu (2015) a resume contain highlight of an employee qualification, skills, experiences, knowledge (QSEK) and accomplishment in a concise outline. Resume is a selling tool used by applicants and for Human Resources Officers, hiring managers and potential employers to see what positons were held and are used to review the QSEK. This assignment contains two sections first this is my personal job search, building of a resumes and the second section contains developing an interview questions and how the interview questions applies in a real-life interview.

I am very excited and honored to recommend Inanje Mintz for Graduate Studies in Public Health. I am employed with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at the Quarantine Station at Philadelphia International Airport. I am the Officer in Charge and had the great opportunity to supervise Inanje for her first year in the Public Health Associate Program (PHAP).

In my mid semester report the area that identified that I could improve on happened to be working in Excel. During the second half of the semester I was able to improve in Excel by knowing what functions and information to use to record and graph accurate information. Improving in Excel helped prepare for the Lab Practical. Another area that I stated that I could improve upon was when collecting data to make to record the correct amount of significant figures needed for the data that was being recorded. I was able to improve on this when recording data and carefully examining the amount of what was being used in the experiment. By doing this I was able to make sure I was not forgetting any significant figures that would be valuable when reporting the end experiment.

In this course, I’ve learned the appropriate audience, purpose, structure, and voice for a cover letter. A cover letter accompanies a resume and is written formally. It is used to convince the company that you are fit to be hired, and to introduce yourself to them. The audience of a cover letter is the manager of a business or company. The purpose is to introduce yourself to a potential employer and to highlight any relevant skills you possess. The structure of a cover letter includes your address, the date, the recipient’s address, and a salutation. The opening paragraph states why you’re writing, establishes a point of contact, and gives a brief introduction of yourself. The body paragraphs highlight some of the more important points from your resume. The closing paragraph should politely request an interview at the employer’s convenience. Identify what supplementary material’s being sent, such as a writing sample or a portfolio. The reader should be thanked for their consideration and you should indicate that you’re looking forward to hearing from them. There should be a complimentary closing followed by your name and signature. The voice of a cover letter should be polite, formal, and concise.
