Designed as a superior gripping boat shoe, the Beach soon gained a legion of followers who wore Crocs shoes at work, at play and even in Hollywood. Movie stars including Al Pacino, Kate Winslet, Jack Nicholson, P Diddy, Whoopi Goldberg, Helen Hunt and Matt Damon have been spotted wearing Crocs shoes. Why the name Crocs? Because crocodiles are tough, strong, equally at home on land or in water and live for a long time - qualities and

Comfort is a soft gushy shoe that makes your arches collapse. “Crocs are popular because they're inexpensive and interchangeable”, said Arnold Ravick, a doctor of podiatric medicine in Washington, D.C., and a spokesman for the American Podiatric Medical Association. For people with certain problems, they can be a good shoe. However, the question is, are they good for your foot, in general? According to Dr. Arnold Ravick, the answer is: “No!” (O'Rourke, 2007)
Moreover, Crocs use ownership material called “Cros-lite”, a molded plastic resin to create a clog design that somehow looks like pierced holes and “Cros-lite” also causes feet to smell after a long term of use because it does not absorb water or sweat! (Winthorpe, 2011)
Another point is that the shoe causes pronation of the feet when walking, as they are way too spongy. This is evident by the uneven tread wear over time; because of their spongy characteristic they do not stabilize the knee or ankle causing long term chronic damage.

Crocs Inc. is a U.S based shoe designer, manufacturer and retailer. It was founded in 2002 by three friends - Lyndon “Duke” Hanson, Scott Seamans and George Boedecker. Crocs shoes are manufactured from “Croslite”. They are comfortable & light weight, odour resistant, do not skid, easy to wash and do not mark surfaces. Owing to the properties of the resin, Croslite, the shoes could be manufactured in any colour. The company, however, chose bold colours.
Traditionally, the shoe industry was seasonal and based on projections of future trends. Retail stores would need to place orders several months before the shoes would even hit the shelves. As orders were made early in the year, manufacturers would begin production for shipment later in the year. Since inventory supply depended on expected sales, stock could not be quickly replenished as it ran out. The executives at Crocs decided to branch out from the traditional production schedules and develop a lean production model. As sales increased or decreased, Crocs managed to speed up and slow down production throughout the year to quickly replenish depleted inventory. Since the shoes were easily made with the foam mold design, rapid production and order fulfillment came easily for Crocs. This approach attracted the attention of many footwear retailers. With Crocs shoes being made to order, stores could more easily control inventory without worrying about a

Exporting has become a very important business strategy nowadays. In order for firms to expand to the international market, and also to maintain and grow their share of market in whatever industry they are in, depending on their goals and objectives, any company must at least explore this possibility. A few and important advantages might come into place, in that they can extend their sales potential of their existing products, increasing margins through a larger customer base. Also, these small to large businesses can consolidate by gaining global share of market, they can reduce their dependence on their existing markets,
It all started with a Jumpman and a swoosh, it was more than just a shoe it was the start of a culture. What most people look at as just a shoe to protect their feet has a story behind it and a deeper meaning to me and many others than “just a pair of shoes”. Don’t put on a pair of shoes unless you know how to wear them right. For every pair I own I could explain the troubles I went through and the people I met to get each sneaker. The best feeling was opening that fresh shoe box and taking out that paper wrapping. Putting on each new pair of sneakers is like taking a breath of fresh air each pair crisp as bacon. I am one among many sneakerheads, people who love to buy, sell, trade, and collect rare shoes. There is a culture, lifestyle, and history behind sneaker collecting. Most people would think dropping hundreds if not thousands on a pair of shoes is crazy but I believe sneakers are essential.
The dresses may also turn into flared shirts once your child has outgrown it. Crocs may not be the cutest sandal around, but do they come in handy! Children are often seen playing on playgrounds in the summer heat wearing flip flops and open toed sandals. While these types of sandals could be unsafe because children 's feet can easily come out of the shoe while climbing, parents should consider investing in a pair of Crocs for their children. These sandals are basically a rubber type clog that has a backing strap. Not only is the rubber excellent for cleaning, it is also airy because of the ventilation holes that let out feet sweat. If a chocolate ice cream cone drips on the Crocs, it is easily washable and extremely easy to dry with a bit of soap and water. Needless to say, they are excellent to wear in the water as well. Sneakers and sandals made of cloth or leather are considerably harder to keep clean, especially in the carefree summer months. The Crocs are made of a specially designed material called Patented Closed Cell Resin that actually resists feet fungus. Celebrity parent Liv Tyler and her child Milo have been seen sporting the Crocs around town. Crocs come in various styles such as Crocs Athens Kid 's, Crocs Caymen Kid 's, Crocs Crocling, Crocs Disney Kid 's, and Crocs MaryJane. A pair of Kid 's Crocs will cost you right around $25.00.

In the beginning, sneakers were made by Indians in Central and South America. These shoes were made from rubber and were most likely not the most comfortable shoes (pg.54 par. 1). As time swooshed past like an eagle scooping its prey, sneakers evolved and became more popular. They became more popular through sports, and sneaker heads.

Participating in basketball begins with picking which basketball shoes to wear. The purpose of a sports shoe is to improve performance or reduce the risk of injury (Fong, Hong & Li, 2007). While playing the game of basketball I’ve realized it is a sport that involves different types of shoes which help improve jumping, landing, cutting and much more. Basketball has its positives and negatives for every age group; it has good health benefits, but it also consists of moderate to high risk lower body injuries to the lower back, legs and ankles. There are different types of basketball shoes which consist of high tops, mid tops, low cuts, cushioned shoes, non-cushioned shoes, and other different combinations. The high tops basketball shoe will have a collar that goes above the ankle like a sleeve. The mid tops basketball shoe covers slightly above the ankle, but lower than high tops. The low cut basketball shoes don’t have a collar at all and they don’t cover the ankle. Shoes also vary by weight and outsole traction. Through my knowledge picking the shoe to wear is solely on your preference. Whatever shoe that you choose will have different advantages or disadvantages to them. The purpose of this literature review is to explore the variety of effects specific shoe types have on basketball athletes.
