1.In your opinion, what are three main topics of chapter one? How do you know if you have a good foundation?
In my view the three main topics of chapter one are How do you build a Foundation for execution, How does a Foundation for execution create Business value and Do you have a good foundation for execution.
Foundation of Execution basically implies the mechanization of routine business tasks. Doing this permits individuals to focus on enhancing the business as opposed to simply absolutely running it. According to Ross, Weill, and Robertson, the three keys to building a strong foundation are Operating model, Enterprise architecture and IT engagement model. I can say that a company has a good foundation if it experiences higher profitability, faster time to market, and lower IT costs. In any case, those aren't the main reasons you would need to construct an strong foundation for execution. Moreover, developing complexity in an company's system can make inflexibility in the systems, and excessive costs, without included quality. Likewise, business agility relies on upon an strong foundation for execution. More agile companies have their center procedures digitized.

Business models have a huge impact on how an organizations operate. It is crucial that an organization chose a business model before inception in order to succeed. Basically, business models have become the new basis of competition, replacing product features and benefits as the playing field on which companies emerge as dominant or laggards (Plantes, 2013).
