Culture is made up of different elements; symbols, language, values and norms. Every culture has a different perspective of the way individuals should lead their lives. Cuba is known for its cultural diversity that is made up from Spanish, African, French and Asian influences. Cuba is located in the northern Caribbean where the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic Ocean meet. Cuba only shares its borders with only one country, which is the United States. The official language spoken is Spanish. Cuba’s flag is a very significant symbol to its people, Cubanos. Specifically, “the three blue stripes represent the sections the Island was divided into, the two white stripes suggest the purity of the intentions for the people’s independence, while the equilateral triangle stands for freedom, equality and fraternity, as France was once advocating as well. The red color stood for the blood that would be shed in order to claim the independence; with the white, single star as symbol of absolute freedom among its people” (insightcuba, 2017). Additionally, the Toroco bird is another symbol that is a very representative bird because it has the colors of the Cuban flag; red, white and blue. The Cuban Coat of Arms is the official heraldic symbol of Cuba. It consists of a shield, supported by an oak branch on one side and a laurel wreath on the other which represent, strength and honor. To add on, the golden key symbolizes Cuba's position between both American continents
Culture is defined by specific values and belief systems. Culture is who you are, your surroundings, and your traditions. Culture helps shape our behavior, since we're born,a nd raised into a specific culture. The vidoe what is culture, states that culture is learned behavior inspired by people that come from a specific group. I was raised in a Haitian family, and growing up Haitian was definately interesting. Growing up in a strict family, and being the only girl, out of 4 brothers, I grew uo literally walking on a straight line. It was like, if you are a girl, you are looked down on, if you do anything wrong. You are also looked at, as if you've shamed your own family. Growing up in the haitian culture has raised me to be just like my mother.
Culture is a set of ideals and values about life that are widely shared among people and that guide specific behaviors. Differences, as well as similarities, can be seen when comparing world cultures. We communicate with each other, we feed ourselves with food, and when we sleep we often dream. However, we speak different languages, eat different types of foods, and dream different ways. We call these cultural differences. What causes them is not always obvious to the ordinary person (Nancy). I feel culture is what really sets us apart from each other and what makes us unique as individuals and families.
Family, heritage, ethnicity, beliefs, values, knowledge, experiences, attitudes, religion, education, roles, language, and cuisine are all items encompassing culture. Culture is what influences your outlook on life itself as well as behaviors and rituals. Culture is the way different groups of people do things. While some cultures have overlapping cultural behaviors or aspects, most cultures vary significantly. Culture, for the most part, is something you are born into, your innate programming, however, it some aspects can be changed or evolved. "Only part of culture is conscious" (Spector, 2013).

Before the popularization of Son, Cuban music and dance was largely influenced by Europe. Compositions in the early period closely resemble songs from middle-class Europe. These genres include: the creole, canción and danzón (Moore 17). While these genres were seen as the model of Cuban expression at the turn of the century, the Afrocuban music known as “Son” would soon become (and remain) the paragon of Cuban artistic and cultural expression; the previous genres paled in comparison in terms of popularity. Fusing African, Indigenous and European elements, Son exemplified the transculturation that so many of the elites in Cuba were promoting as Cuba’s identity; however, the most prominent elements in Son music originated from Africa, which did
Cuba. The well-known island all over the world and located ninety miles south of Florida is the largest island of the West Indies. The island is popular for its natural beauty and cultural heritages. Many Cubans supported the Cuban revolution in the hope of seeing changes in Cuba; however after Castro seized the power in 1959, many left Cuba to find the better life and live free from the communist government in Cuba.

Since then, every time I've been abroad, I have been required to submit a report of all activities performed during the stay and sometimes warning me that I should not be naive and to be careful with the information I gave any foreigner or while overseas. I emphasize this because in 2003, I had been in the US and I had to do a report, plus I was not the only traveling abroad but my colleagues did not have to do that report, so my survival instinct told me that I am not to even ask them why I must and they do not. Life in Cuba is living with the stress and the worry of being careful of what say or do because they might force consequences simply due to my viewpoint.
The first thing that pop into my head when I think about cultural practices that are influenced by people’s culture is related with the spread of Dengue in Cuba. Dengue is an infectious disease caused by any one of four related viruses. It is transmitted between people by the mosquitoes Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus, which are found throughout the world. In Cuba the most common is the Aedes Aegypti and is by controlling the mosquito population that this disease is controlled. Mosquitoes like to laid their eggs in stagnant clean water and in Cuba an ideal place for the mosquitoes’ eggs is created by a cultural practice. The Yoruba religion, an African religion that came from Nigeria is very popular in Cuba and one common practice of this

It’s considered the second most important city in Cuba, probably because it’s an important sea port. Camagüey is the fourth largest city in Cuba, according to Wikipedia. The symbol of Camagüey is a clay pot, mainly because there are clay pots everywhere. They can be very small, or very big. They’re used to capture rainwater to be
