Damath Introduction: Damath comes from the Pinoys checker board game called “dama” and Mathematics. It blends local culture, education and digital technology that aim to make math teaching and learning child-friendly, challenging and interactive. DAMATH, a patent-pending mathematical board-game invented by five-time national awardees Jesus L. Huenda, is coined from the popular Filipino checkerboard game of dama, (or lady in Spanish) and mathematics. It started in a Sorsogon National High School class in Sorsogon, Philippines and its popularity spread quickly and resulted in the first national DAMATH competitions held at Legaspi City in 1980. He initiated this competition with the support of the Science Foundation of the Philippines. He …show more content…
The game will go on until all pieces belonging to a player have been eaten and the scores computed. Because of the need to solve operations, players must list down all moves during the game so the moves can be reviewed, especially by the judges in a tournament setting. Rules: How to START: * 24 chips should be placed first on the following squares on the DAMATH board Chip Number Position of Blue Chip Position of Red Chip Chip Number | Position of Blue Chips | Position of Red Chips | 0 | ( 5 , 2 ) | ( 2 , 5 ) | -1 | ( 3 , 2 ) | ( 4 , 5 ) | 2 | ( 7 , 2 ) | ( 0 , 5 ) | -3 | ( 1 , 2 ) | ( 6 , 5 ) | 4 | ( 4 , 1 ) | ( 3 , 6 ) | -5 | ( 2 , 1 ) | ( 5 , 6 ) | 6 | ( 6 , 1 ) | ( 1 , 6 ) | -7 | ( 0 , 1 ) | ( 7 , 6 ) | 8 | ( 5 , 0 ) | ( 2 , 7 ) | -9 | ( 3 , 0 ) | ( 4 , 7 ) | 10 | ( 7 , 0 ) | ( 0 , 7 ) | -11 | ( 1 , 0 ) | ( 6 , 7 ) | How to make a move * Toss a coin to decide who moves first.2. * The first player moves a piece by sliding diagonally forward to an adjoining vacant square (no chip is to be placed on colored squares). Example: Red player moves “-1” to an adjoining vacant square (5, 4), thus, to the score sheet the player writes on the first column under the heading “Move” with [-1 ⟶ (5, 4)] to mean “-1” goes to a square located 5 on its x-axis and 4 on its
In this problem I am looking at strategies for a game called What’s on Back?
“Four Directions” is the story of Waverly Jong, the young prodigy chess player who lashes out at her mother because of her constant showing off of Waverly. After returning to chess, Waverly realizes that her skill and determination is gone, along with the support and love from her mother. She beings to understand that her winning was solely dependant on her mother’s boastful remarks about her daughter, the love the Lindo was so openly expressing.
In” Rules of the Game “the Chess board that Waverly gets from her brothers represents the ability
If you were playing there will be a card called named ¨la pera¨ (the pear) if someone has that on their mat then they put a bean on it . so you keep filling in the spaces when the card on your mat is called. Then when you fill up your whole mat you yell out ¨bingo¨ or ¨I win¨ that's what the kids get to say if they win. Also in some games you get to place money in the middle, so when someone wins they earn money.
A combined move of King and Rook permitted once for each side during a game.
The clock ticking on the table reminded Vernon that his time was slipping away rapidly. “Tick-tock.” mumbled Willie, putting more stress on Vernon. As Vernon continues to think, Willie tries to read his face expression. Vernon moves his brook two spaces up the board. “Your a smart chess player Vernon, but I will figure out and defeat your method.” Challenged Willie. He moves his pawn leaving his king just behind his queen. When Vernon notices the mistake, he knows that if he can somehow get his opponent to move his queen he can win the game moving him up to the semi-finals. Getting him closer to being the winner of the chess tournament. As they moved pieces all over the board, Willie looks Vernon right into his blue eyes when he moves his
I would lay down the K♥ behind the A♥ and the 2♥ on top of the A♥ to earn 4 points. In this game, a player is offered with the around the world effect that you see in Rummy and other games out there. A player would earn 2 points for both cards placed and when both cards are suited players earn double the value, so, in this case, 4 points will be earned. Once their turn is done, a player must choose the King ♥ or the 2 ♥ for the next player to play off of. If the player(s) can’t play off of it, he/she can play off of it. If he/she can’t play off the card, and no one else can; then, the top card of the deck must be flipped for other players to play off of it. Also, when cards run out of the deck player(s) turn who is up next would leave the top card that needs to be played off of, and shuffle the rest underneath into the deck and place it down. The
These symbols include all letters of the alphabet, the numbers 1 to 9 and 0, and the words yes and no. A smaller board, shaped like a heart, called a planchette or pointer is used to direct the answers. The game is played when two or more people press their fingers lightly on the pointer. Then one player asks the board a question. The pointer then answers the question by indicating a word or a number. According to believers of the ouija board, spirits move the pointer. Others think the subconsciousness of the players movement move the
Life, like war, compares to the game of chess. There are two sides, and they take turn moving their pieces in play. There is always a strategy for the final goal, victory, or the game could end in a stalemate. An endless possibility of moves exists for each player, keeping in mind the possible future actions of the opponent. This makes the game complex and difficult because each player does not know the intent, or exact move of the opponent. Each player must rely on instinct and judgment of their opponent to estimate the next action of the opponent. One must also account for the losses of pieces and the sacrifices needed in order to achieve victory. A game of chess between the United States and Japan started in July
To play the game you would have nine players a side ,trying to throw a soccer ball in the basket. If a basket was made ,the game paused for a man to climb a ladder and retrieve the ball.If you wanted to set up the game you would need to hang two peach baskets at different ends of the gym.
In 1992, The Elwha River Ecosystem and Fisheries Restoration Act of 1992 authorized the US Federal Government to acquire the hydroelectric power projects of Elwha Dam and Glines Canyon Dam, where are located on the Washington State for demolition for habitat restoration and decommissioning. The dam removals began in 2011 and finished in 2014. I wondering that why government decided to remove the dam and what happens in Elwha River after dam removal. In this paper, I write about the following topics: main purpose of the Elwha and Gliens Canyon dam, effects to the Elwha River as well as ecosystem after constructing dam, reasons of the dam removal, process of the dam removal, and effects after dam removal.
The following is one of the "games" that Dave's mother made him play directly from the book:
Then each player will roll the dice and the player with the highest roll advances to “START” counting the space as one, and advances the number of spaces indicated on the dice.

B. suffered a lot during his time of imprisonment, though he did not go insane as quick as other captives. It was because he accidentally found himself a savior, ‘a wonderful weapon against the oppressive monotony of his own space and time’.7 What he found was a chess manual. With this book, his solitude suddenly perished! He immediately started preparing a chess-board with his sheet, and used bread for the chessmen. But it didn’t work, since he continually got confused about which piece of bread represented which chessman. Then he decided: he was going to play the games in his head. At first it was really difficult, because he had to memorize all of the positions of the chessmen. In time he got used to visualizing the chess-board and its thirty-two chessmen. He didn’t need the sheets nor the bread, for he had already reached the borders of
