DBQ: Impact of the Crusades The crusades was a Holy war between the Christians and the Muslims. It started in Europe and because they wanted to free the Holy Land from Infidels. It sated in the year 1095. I think it is negative because it originally belonged to the Jews. I think it is negative because they did a lot of bad stuff. Document 1 states that “ They left a bitter legacy of religious hatred behind them.” This is important because this tells you that is was a very upsetting and bloody war. Document 1 also states that “In the middle east, both christians and muslims committed appalling atrocities in the name of religion. In Europe, crusaders sometimes turned their fury against Jews, massacring entire communities.” This is interesting
The crusades were more negative than positive because there were many innocent people were killed because of their religion. In document 1 it states In Europe, crusaders sometimes turned their fury against jews, massacring entire communities. They would do this just because they were
The Crusades was a battle between two religions, Christians and Muslims, during the eleventh century and went inside of the thirteenth century. A complex question that is trying to be determined is was the impact the crusades more positive or more negative. Through all of the problems the crusades caused such as destroying churches along with splitting them apart from one another and causing a hatred relationship between both religions the crusades were truly a unfavorable period of time. A cause for the Crusades being a negative time was because during the Crusades the churches that the religions went to and followed were being demolished as well as splitting them apart from one another.
Because of the response the people had to Pope Urban II call to arms a wave of religious enthusiasm swept across Europe. In 1096 Peter the hermit created an army of peasants and soldiers. They traveled to Constantinople, this movement was called the peoples crusade. The outcome of the people’s crusade was tragic because almost all of them died.
The crusades had a negative impact. The crusades was a series of religious wars between the christians and muslims. It started in 1096- 1099 and was caused from muslims because the muslims wanted to take control of jerusalem or they wanted jerusalem back. This caused many buildings to be destroyed and many of people's lives.
From 1095 to 1204, there was a war between the Christians and the Muslims for the Holy Land, Jerusalem. They fought bloody battles all over Europe, and these battles were called the Crusades. In the end, the results of the Crusades were more negative than positive. Two negative results were the bitter relationship between Christians and Muslims and how both Christians and Jews used religion to kill everyone.
These are the reasons, they we're hated by,and they also had a long struggle between the Muslims and Christians. That is why the results of the Crusades we're more negative than positive.
The war between two religions, christianity and islam took place between the eleventh century and the thirteenth century. This event was called the crusades. This event had many impacts, but were they good or bad? I think that it had a negative impact because it caused the churches to split, and the relationships of the religions was very negative.
The Crusades were a fight for the Holy Land between Christians , Muslims and Jews. The Crusade left a very negative legacy because of the hatred and how they left all the land. The result of the Crusade came out more negative because how much land and historical things were destroyed. Document 4 states that a library and relics were destroyed in Constantinople.
The Crusades were a series of religious that were wars fought between Christians and Muslims over control of the Holy Land. The majority of them took place between 1095 and 1291, but that's only because their was big wars and small fight. Some of the big wars were thing that were fought over such as land or anything they could own/rule. The Holy Land was and still is a place that is very important for the two major monotheistic - Judaism and Christianity. Adding on wars are not a good thing, that's why I think the Crusades were negative.
The impact of the crusades were more negative because they had bad reasons and because they fought nine times in the 13 centuries and many Christians were fighting against Jews. After the Christians and Jews fought the crusades still attacked each other. It also made lasting war between two religions.
The Crusades were a group of Christians that Pope Urban II started back in 1095. They also had 9 Crusades, or 9 times when they would attack to get the Holy Land, against the Muslims and Jews, but mostly against the Muslims. During those battles there were both positive and negative. Were the results of the Crusades more positive or negative? The Crusades were more negative than positive because they worsen their relationship with the Jews and Muslims, or religious hatred, they destroyed and betrayed their closest ally, and their towns or cities were difficult to handle.
Religion has played a big part of history around the world. Through religion we have learned so much about different cultures, beliefs and Traditions. Some of the religions that we discover in history are still dominate religions until this day. The Christianity and Islam Religion are two of the most practiced religions around the world today. From Christianity and Islam you get Christians and Muslims. The Christians and Muslims during the Crusades have similar and not so similar views on personal virtues and religious practices.
On the 27th of November in the year 1095, Pope Urban II issued a decree to a
The Crusades was a horrific time. Many people had lost their lives, friends, even family. The Crusades were a battle over the holy land, Jerusalem. The Crusaders, people who had fought in the Crusades, were Christians. They wanted the holy land because they believe that’s where Jesus had died and rose. They had fought against the Muslims who were defending themselves against the Crusaders. The Crusades had its positive outcomes as well as its negative results. Some may wonder, were the results of the Crusades more Positive or Negative? I strongly believe the outcome was mostly negative mainly because the Crusaders didn’t win the holy land, lots of lands were destroyed, and so many people lost their lives in the battle of the Crusades.
There were both positive and negative effects of The Crusades, although the positives did outweigh the negatives. The two major negative effects were anti-Semitism and the orchestrated attacks by Venice. Many Crusaders in Europe were so religiously fuming, that they turned their anger towards the Jews. They would at times massacre a whole community as a result of their religious rage. During the fourth crusade, crusaders began fighting Christians instead of Muslims. After helping Venetian merchants defeat their Byzantine trade rivals in 1204, the crusaders captured and looted Constantinople. They actually ransacked the capital of the Byzantine Empire, the empire in which they began to fight for, not against. There also were many positive effects of The Crusades, one being the increase of trade. Even before the Crusades, merchants began to enjoy some of the luxury goods that were brought from the Byzantine Empire. The crusaders that
