For this discussion, post your draft of Stage One of the unit you have chosen to design for your course project and respond to the following: • Explain your decision-making process in designing Stage One of your lesson. The first task in my decision-making process in designing Stage One of my lesson was to determine which unit I would choose to work with. I chose a new unit for my eleventh grade English language arts class. I chose it because it is a challenging unit that matches my state’s content standards. Next, I looked over the standards and unpacked them by focusing on the “big ideas” in the unit. By unpacking the standards, I was able to concentrate on the desired results of the unit. This led me to my focus questions. • What challenges did you face in: Deciding which standards of learning to address? …show more content…
There are numerous standards that need to be met in a set amount of time. It was overwhelming to sift through the standards. However, when I begin unpacking the standards I was able to break them down into “big ideas” and feasible chunks. Another challenge I faced was the vagueness of the standards. The standards are wordy and vague. However, when I unpacked them, I was able to pick out the “big ideas” and my desired results for the standards. Translating standards into big ideas? At first, I found the task of translating standards into big ideas intimidating. After all, there are vast amounts of standards, which are long, wordy, and ambiguous. However, once I asked myself Wiggins and McTighe’s (2011) guiding question, “What should students learn as a result of this unit (short term and long term)?” (p. 46). How to unpack a standard suddenly became clear to me. Designing essential
To apply the second standard to my practice I have to make sure I ask questions about the work I am supposed to be doing with my students. Once I know what I am going to doing then, it is up to me to make sure that I know and understand what I am supposed to be teaching the students. To demonstrate that I am adhering to the standard, I have to take the time to plan out what I will be teaching the students and make sure that they are understanding what they are learning.
This standard explains that it is important for teachers to understand the content and different instructional methods in order to make the content equally
The representation that the “now” common standards is supposed to reassure not only the teachers, but that each and every student can prosper in an economy and population that is developing at a rapid pace, and that will sustain throughout their lives. Several statistics show that this need to better prepare students for college is an urgent one.
I love teaching students about math, but when I hear the question, “Why do I need to know this?” or “When am I ever going to use this in real life?” it frustrates me. In some cases my students will never need to know how to add and subtract polynomials. Everyday I connect my lessons to real life examples, but some students still do not understand why they need to know some of the topics in math. In our district we spend a lot of time making sure students are meeting the standards set forth, but many times we are puzzled wondering why are we spending all of this time making sure students meet the standards. Why do they need to be proficient in all of the standards; who will in benefit in the long run? I am going to discuss who benefits from standards, and whether the aims of standards are intended to benefit society or the individuals in my classroom.
Right now, as a district wide science department we are in the process of adopting new standards. I was fortunate enough to work on the team that was in charge of creating these standards to fit the needs of our students. This work allowed me to direct my current teaching. I have refocus my courses to align to these new standards. A large part of what that has done is cleared out the clutter of past years. It has focused the course and given better guidelines as to what should the students really get out of the course. I use the standards with my colleagues to create student learning objectives/outcomes, written in student-friendly language, to give the students a clear picture of what is expected of them for that particular segment of the
This paper will Be providinG a memo that includes many Tasks related To project planning and operations management. All memos are present accordingly to the separated tasks discussed. We will be using the case study of “Shuzworld”. As the operations consultant for Shuzworld, we will be following all the tasks and then will provide Recommendations by analyzing the problems given in the task prompts. We will also apply the appropriate decision analysis tool to make reliable and valid Recommendations.

“Business these days is all in the numbers, as franchises tap into the power of big data to customize marketing, select locations and manage staffing. These are the companies leading the charge” (Daley, 2016, p. 133). This is how today’s world works. However, just simply collecting data is not enough. What do you do with it, and how do you turn it into something meaningful? Competition is fierce, and being wrong is never a good option. Using terms like I think, hopefully, and that is the way we have always done it, is a good first step to going out of business and the unemployment line. Using proper business analysis techniques with reliable data will increase the likelihood that a prediction, or a

An explanation of how decision-making is dealt with in economic analysis requires an examination of the main factors at play. These factors amongst others are looked at as a base for decision making. Supply and Demand are the most fundamental tools used in economic analysis. I will explain what demand is and how the demand curve is derived. I will also write about Supply and its relationship with Demand. I will examine equilibrium price (market clearing price) and how we can calculate or plot it. I will attempt to show how market surpluses and market shortages are caused and their effect on product prices. Factors of cost and the decisions regarding cost will be covered. I hope to covey how cost is correlated with price which in turn is
Standards are believed to serve a number of purposes within the United States’ education system. These standards are meant to guild teachers and learning within the classroom (Powell, 2015, p. 105). In theory, having a set of standards which all teachers must follow seems like a great idea, for every student will be given an equal opportunity to learn the same information. In reality, these tight
Supplier or vendor selection decisions are complicated by the fact that various criteria must be considered in decisions making process. The analysis of criteria for selection and measuring the performance of suppliers has been the focus of many scientists and purchasing practitioners since 1960s.
