Five seconds to go on the clock, the ball is inbound to LeBron James from Kyrie Irving. LeBron dribbles down half court then passes the ball back to Kyrie; Kyrie takes a step and shoots a three point attempt. *buzzer goes off* He makes the three point shot and the Quicken Loans Arena is now filled with all fans go nuts, but that is not all who are going nuts. Basketball has been more than just a game in my life, it has always been a big part of my life, but it has been a part differently than what it is to others. I love everything about basketball. I have done everything from keeping the official book for a men's and women's collegiate team to washing a high school team's practice clothes and even making sure everyone has their uniforms and shoes before leaving for an away game. You don't have to be on the court, you don't have to be the one taking the winning shot or calling the play to be part of the team. I want you to think about this instead of feeling sorry for yourself because you didn't make the cut. I hope by the time you finish reading this you will realize
Basketball was my favorite sport growing up. I’ve played since I was little and I still play the game today. I played basketball at my elementary school, St. Cecilia, from Kindergarten till 8th Grade and also played AAU basketball for about 2 years before entering High School. Going into my freshmen year of High School, the first sport I played was basketball. Tryouts began in about the start of November and ended about 2 weeks after. I had made the Freshmen A team. I was excited and as the season progressed, we didn’t win many games but I still had fun playing. Nearing the end of the season, golf was another sport coming up that I also wanted to try and play. I say “try and play” because at the time, I was also going to play AAU basketball. I had set in my mind that I was going to play basketball for all of my four years of high school, but my parents pushed me to tryout for golf. When the basketball season ended, golf tryouts started. Tryouts lasted for about 2 weeks, and I made the JV team. When I found out I made the team, I was very surprised. I hadn’t put in the hard work as others before tryouts came around, but the coach saw potential in me and that I can become a great player. The coach saw so much potential in me, that every week, I kept progressing in skill and fine tuning my mechanics. Halfway through the season, about 4 or 5 weeks after I made the team, my coach gave me the chance to play with the Varsity Golf team for a couple days. I was excited and eager to
Squeaking of the shoes on the court thousands of fan cheering the name of a an Nba all star. The time has come all the hard work, blood, sweat, and tears are starting to pay of as He begin to look at myself in the mirrors as a Nba champion. To watch it all flash before his life the dream of life was finally coming true thanks to all the hard work and dedication.
With less than one second on the clock, NBA all-star for the Portland Trail Blazers-Damian Lillard, chucks up the basketball from behind the 3-point line. In the ball, contains the possibility of a playoff series winning shot. Millions eagerly watching the basketball float through the air like it was in slow motion. Eyes glued to the orange-brown leather ball with black stripes. Almost slowly rotating through the air, gravity does it’s thing and the ball slips through the net; most likely making a soothing sound that no one could hear because of the deep noise that erupted in the Moda Center. Damian Lillard had beat the buzzer just in time to create history.
Sports are played worldwide and are reflective of that particular areas cultural view. This has led to a wide variety of sports that are played. Due to this high level of diversity it has become extremely challenging to define what activities are considered a sport verse a recitation activity. Specialists in this field frequently debate this issue, discussing the criteria that should exist when evaluating a sport. The main goal is to make a list concise enough yet, at the same time detailed so it can be used in every sporting model.
Basketball has always been something I loved ever since I was a little girl. I remember when I was younger, we had a basketball hoop in my driveway and my brothers and I would always go out and play one on one or horse. I also remember losing, a lot. Although it wasn’t about winning or losing for me, I just loved the game. In fourth grade, I started playing competitive basketball and loved the sport even more. Maybe it was scoring points or getting an assist, I’m not really sure the reason, I just knew I loved the game. As I got older my love for the game only grew; until high school hit.
The crowd starts booing at Lebron and he misses the free throw. Then Curry gets the rebound and passes it Klay who then shoots a three. The crowd goes wild. Lebron gets mad and decided to hit the ref and then Lebron got suspended from the next 5 games because of that. Poor Lebron, how sad. It is all up to Kyrie, Kevin Love, Moscov, and Varejo to win the game, but I doubt that will happen. Kyrie then shoots a three and it goes in, the crowd starts to boo. I said “How is that even possible! Bogut was guarding him and he shot over him. The crowd started to get sad.” The third quarter had just ended and the cavs were up 103 - 100. The Warriors needed this win so badly to prove that they aren’t a team that got lucky and won the championships. The fourth quarter had started and Curry quickly shot a three and it went in but Kyrie returned the favor and shot it. Then Draymond alley-ooped the ball to Bogut for the monster slam, but Kyrie being the machine for the Cavs ever since Lebron got suspended returned the favor. I said “Oh my! The Cavs are winning 123-121. The Warriors need a 3 point shot to win the game but there is only 1 second left in the clock.”Draymond passes it to Curry, and throws it full court and it goes
The NBA has had many changes. People enjoyed them some have hated them. Many people have enjoyed the NBA over the years and others have not been so fond of it. We’ve seen greats through the years and we’ve seen flukes. We’ve been with a team or player ever since he’s been in the league. Some fans are super fans some are people who just enjoy the thrill of a game.
Over the years we have enjoyed the evolution of basketball and the transition from the dominating big man, to the lights out shooting guards. Since we were kids, basketball has brought us much excitement on every level, ranging from the NBA pros all the way down to the neighborhood park games. Rather its playing a game of horse, or watching the NBA finals, we love everything about the game.
Basketball is all I have ever known. I started playing when I was about 3 years old. At the time, I was living in a big house in the suburbs of Vallejo with a large backyard as well. My father had acquired and assembled one of the little Fisher Price baby basketball hoops in the backyard for me; it even came with a baby ball! For the duration of all of my summer, I was in the backyard, playing with the basketball, pretending I was as marvelous as a professional player like Michael Jordan. I spent so much time outside practicing, I’m surprised I didn’t get sick of it. Eventually, as time carried on, I outgrew the baby hoop. When I became of age, I started using the regular sized hoop my father had in the backyard. And I fell into the same routine
The NBA today has some of the best players in the world. It is the most popular basketball league in the entire world. The teams are stacked with talent throughout the entire league. The talent has increased tremendously since past years. Throughout the NBA’s history there has been some great teams. Arguably, there hasn’t been a team better than the 95-96 Bulls.
This is a story all about a guy named Alexander richman III. So he was in college and he plays for the texas longhorns and he played basketball and he was the best, he had a 75 overall (for college that is pretty good). And it was also his last year in college. And he had 1 more game this season. It is the last game and it 's the 2nd half 5 more seconds 80-83 there losing. Half court 2 more seconds alex shoots and he scores. It is ot ( which means over time) 3 min 90-85 there winning. 10 more seconds left there still winning. 3 more seconds, he makes shot 93-85. 1 more seconds there still winning. Brrrrrrrrrrr THEY WON!!! THEY HAVE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!
Basketball means more than simply the act of playing for me, I often use it as a social crutch and to escape from the real world for a while. Meeting new people has always been a struggle, and I attribute that to my shyness during social situations. Shooting hoops is to me as golf is to numerous adults. It’s a fantastic way to establish yourself with people without feeling pressured to keep a conversation flowing. As a result, while playing basketball, awkward silences become just silences, because nobody’s primary focus is on the discussion. I actually thrive socially when I’m not being pushed to conduct a lengthy conversation. Loads of acquaintances have turned into long term friends through shooting hoops, and to this day, whenever I need to familiarize myself with someone I suggest playing a little ball.
My first symbol I chose was basketball. I chose basketball because basketball is a fun sport that i learn things from and that i love to do. The meaning of basketball to me is like confidence. when i started basketball i was just a normal kid playing a sport but i learned confidence from it not just on the court and not just in sports but i learned confidence in life and still now 8 years later i still make basketball a big factor of my daily life.
These fans will do anything to help their team win. They will scream chants until they lose their voice and then scream even more. Along with that they jump up and down holding signs trying to distract the opposing team. The way the fans act during, and before, the game pump up the home players which helps them play at a whole other level. The only time an NBA game is this packed is during the playoffs, but the fans do not get as rowdy as the college fans do. At a high school game there are fans that get rowdy, but there are not very many of them.
