This essay has outlined all the current positive aspects of Australian society, but we need to address the future and the sustainability of our environment for our grandchildren. The federal government is addressing this issue by introducing a carbon-trading scheme. This carbon trading scheme, where the tax on carbon producing goods and services go into a positive influence on the environment, for example planting trees. The Australian government is following leads by other countries in this circumstance.

This problem certainly isn’t central to Australia, with deforestation most commonly occurring in Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa, however Australia like the rest of the world is affected by the consequences nonetheless. It’s a well-known fact that rainforests have the ability to absorb immense amounts of carbon dioxide and release oxygen by photosynthesis. Not only do we lose a source of oxygen and CO2 recycling, but when trees are burned or cut down, they actually release CO2 because 50 percent of trees is CO2. According to the Global Canopy Program (organisation of chief rainforest scientists) “If we lose the forests, we lose the fight against climate change”.

The affect of environmental issues occur everyday and in particular deforestation is becoming a highly ranked subject. From animals to the human race, the alacrity of trees that are cut down affects every individual in a variety of ways. Not only do people need to help the planet but they need to help themselves and further generations to come, such as children and grandchildren because these natural resources that are being taken away from society are as well shaping the future. For comprehensible reasons, forests use to make up the world, until man made creatures started to destroy and destruct the most important supply to human kind which are trees. Trees are crucial to every living entity for the reason of providing oxygen to all.

People have finally realized that man and nature should be interdependent and that the economy and the environment must develop together. All of the negative impacts on the environment have either direct and indirect adverse effects on the long-term economy. Deforestation not only affects the environment, but it also negatively affects the long-term economy as seen through impacts on forest ecology, timber production, and intangible goods.

Pollution contributes majorly in harming the Australian aquatic ecosystems. Simple examples include throwing rubbish on the streets. As soon as rubbish is left on the ground, it goes to the ocean thought the sewage system and rain. These days, many plastic materials are used and thrown out. Unfortunately, species assume these rubbish as food chocking themselves until they die. Many species are effected this way. Other global pollution impacts include oil spillage. Deforestation is the destruction of a wide area of forest land into a cleared land that is used for a variety of reasons. The impact on the environment from cutting down, burning and damaging forests is very detrimental and there are severe consequences for the environment and future generations because of deforestation. According to the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization approximately 7.3 million hectares of forests are being destroyed per year in the world (Bradford, 2015). In this essay, I will explore the impact that deforestation on the environment and I will also look at the actions that are being taken to prevent deforestation. There are various reasons why deforestation is occurring despite its negative effects on the environment. Deforestation can cause very serious environmental problems such as climate change, flooding, loss of habitats as well as others.

The impact of globalisation has also changed the structure of Australia 's trade. There has been considerable growth in manufacturing and service industries with limited growth in the rural sector (Table 2). This reflects a combination of changes in world demand and domestic structural reforms.
