What is the definition of bullying? It is getting pleasure from someone else’s pain and not feeling any type of remorse or regret for your actions. Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children and adults that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids and adults who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems. In the same aspect bullying is unquestioned obedience to authority, rootinazation of cruelty and dehumanization of another human being (Services, 2015) (Somante, 2014).
The most important step in research that I felt I needed to use for this paper is working with existing information. I felt it was necessary for this decision simply because the information was presented by a lady by the name of Barbara Coloroso. She has actually researched the topic of bullying in school yards and bullying in the general sense. Children reflect on what the parents present. Children who bully believe that their parents would not forgive them if they did something wrong. Arguably, they learn from their parents to be unforgiving towards others, and feel justified in acting aggressively (Rigby, 2013). For example, at a young age I had my first experience with racism which lead to me personally being a bully. I learned term like “chink”, “cracker”, “honkey”, “spic” and etc. I took these labels to school with me. Certain people they were different than I suffered the consequences of being different. I tormented them, called them names pushed them around, and took their lunch monies. Another example, I had and older brother that tortured me every chance he got.
