Meg is a very smart person. She has an over average I.Q. She is very protective of her younger brother Charles Wallace. She is also very upset about her dad leaving. Her dad left for no reason. Meg and Charles Wallace have a very strange relationship. They are very close and protective of each other. The oddest thing that they have in common is he always knows what she is thinking.m Meg is very interested in how he knows this. Charas wallace never talks outside the family either. Meg has very many physical appearances. She is very protective. She shows this by always defending charles wallace. She is sad too. She shows this by yelling at people when the make fun of her dad being gone. She is brave too. She shows this when she always
Haley was very pragmatic when helping her father with his post traumatic stress disorder. She would stay calm and talk him through tough times and would clean up after him when he was unable. "I fed Spock and put away the tools." "The only way to get rid of them all was to open all the windows and clean the table." She would do anything to make sure he was cared for and that he didn't get into any trouble.
Meg had glasses and
At first, it seems like there is no way for Meg to save her father. She knows that in order for her to save him, she need information on why he’s missing. For instance, on page 58, Calvin said “‘You take it from there. That’s all I know.’ ‘That’s bout all I know, too,’ Meg said. ‘Maybe mother knows more. I don’t know. What he did was well, it was what they called Classified.” Meg don’t know that classified information on her father's mission had to be important. If it isn’t, her family can always contact him rather than not knowing. If her father is still on Earth, Meg’s mother should be able to know where he is. Instead, she didn’t know because the government could be hiding something. Besides, on page 56, it states “Mother, you were going
Meg is impatient but she finds a way to use that to help her defeat IT. In the book Meg, Charles, Calvin, and Meg’s father is facing IT and Meg is trying to convince Charles and IT that like and equal is not the same thing.“But that’s exactly what we have on Camazotz. Complete equality. Everybody’s exactly alike. For a moment her brain reeled with confusion…“No!” She cried triumphantly. “Like and equal are not the same thing at all!” (pg 101). Throughout Meg’s journey she has been trying not to use her flaws, but she turned her flaw in to a positive thing and used her impatience to convince IT and Charles that equal and like is not the same
Early in the book she tells her kitten, “Just be glad you’re a kitten and not a monster like me.” The author informs the readers that when she says this she is looking at herself in the mirror making a “horrible face” and “baring a mouthful of teeth covered with braces.” “Don’t worry about Charles Wallace, Meg,” her father had told her soon before he left to work for his top-secret government job. “There’s nothing the matter with his mind. He just does things in his own way and in his own time.”
have to do anything myself–’” (p191) The protagonist of A Wrinkle In Time, Meg doesn’t
Before she went and met IT, Mrs. Whatsit tells her, "My child, do not despair. Do you think we would have brought you here if there were no hope? We are asking you to do a difficult thing, but we are confident that you can do it. Your father needs help, he needs courage, and for his children he may be able to do what he cannot do for himself." This gives Meg some courage and eventually she fights the powerful IT by herself and is victorious, saving the people of Camazotz. Even people who don’t save entire planets can be heroes, like in the book series, The Octonauts, there is a group of underwater explorers who help any animal in need, big or small. Many characters in English literature can be inspiring and even inspire
In the beginning of the book, she starts off as a troubled teen who gets called into the principal's office a lot, has bad grades, and can barely fit into her society. She gets picked on because of her differences and because of her family. Most of the people in her hometown believe that the reason for her behavior has to do with her father’s disappearance, since no one knows where he went or when/if he will come back. When Meg tessers to the different planets in search of her father, even though in the group of three, she is the second oldest, with Charles Wallace as the youngest and Calvin as the oldest, she acts like the youngest. Whenever she gets scared or nervous about entering an unknown location, she will hold hands with her two boys. Both boys also treat her as a delicate child who needs to be protected at all time. Yet near the end, Meg begins to grow in bravery. When someone has to save Charles Wallace from IT, even though she was to scared, she knew that she was their only hope, and volunteered to go. By putting her fears behind her, Meg was able to save her little brother from
Meg is a girl that acts out. Meg seems to get into fights, and she thinks of herself as a ‘’delinquent’’. Since her father left, she seems to be a depressed person. Meg also acts as though she only cares about Charles Wallace, ‘’her dumb baby brother’’, and her mother. She also misses her father dearly.
In conclusion I acknowledge some accomplishments that Megs family has made with Mug graduating high school and becoming a product as member of sociaty by working full-time and saying no to drug use. Although Mug is increasingly becoming frustrated with the drama that surrounds his sister. Imaginably making mug jealous of the attention Meg has given Midge. It sounds like Mug is jeolous and resentful to his sister Midge.
I like Meg because she is what I view her as a symbol of femininity. Characters like Lara Craft or Mulan from other movies are what women power is all about as such contrast of strength and will from their "petite" appearance are amusing for me, but this doesn’t move me romantically. The reason why is I of course, what to be the boyfriend of well capable women like Lara Craft or Mulan, but I afraid I don't have outstanding abilities like they do. I feel like I would drag them down even if they say I don't hinder them at all. As their boyfriend, man, and personally, I would not be happy as I could be unless I rose to their level. I, however, feel like Meg is around my level. The reason why is while her beauty and personality are great, there
The main conflict in Inkspell is learning how to govern the words that Meggie reads into and the harm these words can and will do. Once all of the harm is done, she tries to lessen the impact in order to ‘’heal’’ the harm she has caused in the Ink World. The role and importance of the ‘’good’’ and ‘’evil’’ characters in a world divided into differing groups hence the importance and value of those who have the ‘’gift’’ of creating beneficial outcomes through their
Meg is very bright. But, she does not act so bright in school. At school Meg acts disruptive. She smarts off to her teachers. She shows no respect for anyone at her school. For example: Meg made a smart remark and stormed out of her classroom. At home Meg is a whole different person. She loves and respects her mother. She also really loves her youngest brother, Charles Wallace.
At the beginning of the book Meg shows that hse does not have many friends and cannot trust many people, but throughout her journey Meg learns how to trust and the value of trusting others. Meg and the Mrs. W’s had just landed on Uriel and even though everything was chaotic and weird Meg felt ,” Mrs.Which, despite her looks and ephemeral broomstick, was someone in whom one could put complete trust.’’(70). Meg is scared of the unknown so she finds someone to comfort her. Meg found Mrs. Which to be trustworthy. It causes Meg to relax more because Mrs. Which is relaxed. So whatever Mrs.Which is feeling or doing will make Meg feel better. This is important because up until this point Meg has not trusted any of the Mrs. W’s. This shows that Meg
First, Meg must learn to overcome her desire for conformity and accept her own uniqueness as an individual. In the begining of the book you can see Meg struggling at school, she feels left out and "awkward". She is always getting in trouble with the principle at school, and explains to her mom that she hates being different. When Meg and her friends arrived at Camazotz, she sees that everyone and everything is the same, and there she relizes how much she appriciates being unique. Another theme within the book is light vs darkness. This is showed through the three W's, Meg and her friends as they battle against IT,the Dark Thing and the Man with the Red Eyes. Mrs. Whatsit is also refered to the "jesus" figure, as she is a fighter against evil and turn into a celestial creature. Madeleine shows the readers to just be unique, just because you arn't the same as everyone else, does not mean you need to conform to fit in or be loved.
