Loud talking, cars honking, and people looking for their family and friends. That is all you hear when you’re at the airport in San Salvador. I was with my mom that day, we were looking for our ride out of the airport. Our ride was our cousin Imelda with her dad Josue. Josue was a tall, dark man with curly black hair and a short beard to go with it, he was also wearing his work clothes which were very dirty because he worked on a farm. Imelda is a short dark girl with long curly black hair. She was wearing a red dress with white flowers. Most of my family has dark skin with dark curly hair, according to them I was “gifted” with light skin. Our uncle took us and gave us a ride on an old bus, it looked like it was from the 70’s. He took us …show more content…
When we got there we were walking around and seeing the attractions like the old Spanish colonial buildings in the old part of the city. After some time we got hungry and ate at a small restaurant. The inside was so colorful and it was filled with pictures of festivals such as El Dia de la Raza, La Resurrección, Dia de San Mateo, and so much more. After we ate there we were planning on going to the west side of the city, but the police would not let anyone in. Instead we went to a different town north of Santa Ana, Texistepeque, this town was a former Mayan or Pipil city. The Pipil were one of the former native people who lived in El Salvador. It was early afternoon when we got there. This time we couldn’t take the bus because the road we took was too narrow, so we took a small rickshaw. The ride there was great, I loved looking out and seeing the countryside with all the animals wandering around. In the town we went to a few stores and bought some things, they got me a woven Mayan bracelet with my name on it. I still have it after almost 6 years. Mom bought herself a Pipil dress, a Mayan dress, a blanket, and a purse. All of these things were very cheap compared to things in the U.S. It was getting dark out, so we stayed with a family friend named Tómas. Tómas looked like he was in this late 20’s or early 30’s, a short man with short brown hair. He had a small house in the east side of the city. We ate some food and after a while we went to
The journey began, the first state we rode through was Alabama, I couldn’t see much since it was night time. All I could see was the clear night sky. No stars were shining that night. The only lights I could see were street lights, building lights, and other cars. Looking around inside the car, everyone was asleep except for my uncle since he was the one driving. I must have been asleep the whole 4 hours and 46-minute car ride through Mississippi because I don’t remember anything, same with Louisiana. Finally, when we got to Texas all I wanted to do was get out of the car, so luckily, we stopped by to eat at Cici’s. My aunt said, “To enjoy this last meal since it was the last fast food, that we would be having for a while.” After we ate, it took us about 5-hours to get to Matamoros, Mexico. That was where we had to drive through the border to get into Mexico. Once we got into Mexico, there were lines of cars everywhere from people trying to enter and leave at the same time. The lines were slowly moving, like a turtle, inch by inch. There
A couple years ago, on Cinco De Mayo, we had a soccer game. We went to the game and afterwards Taylor’s family and my family wanted to go out to eat. Because it was Cinco De Mayo, we decided to go to La Mesa, a
I was borned in a small village call San Bartolome Quialana located in Southeastern Mexico. It is best known for its indigenous peoples and cultures. Here, in San Bartolome Quialana, women proudly cover their heads with multicolored chews and protect their satin dress with their gauze blouse and bib garments, each made with their own hands. The fabric is reserved for the women who also work in the fields. I mostly grew up with my mother Guadalupe,Smirna and Friedy. My brother being 14 years and my sister 12. In San Bartolome Quialana I grew up speaking an indigenous language call Zapoteco. I lived in a bigger house there but didn't have any warm water, nor a shower. Our kitchen didn't have a stove we made our own tortilla in a comal. My
The dragster car is a race car that is for drag racing, racing that is two or more cars racing for a short distance. Also, they give a chance for the students to be able to design their own car, thus making for
A recent four-day day trip took us from San Salvador, the capitol, to the mountains, small towns and markets and ancient sites that feature glimpses of pre-historic life within a stones through of a golden statue of Che Guevara. Along the way we even got to mingle with the spirits in a cemetery that caters as much to the living as it accommodates the dead that was filled with opulent decorations and candles in honor of deceased relatives and friends.
We walked through the hallways, visited the garden area where there are still in place steel pots, carpentry machinery, and lots of documents from the era. My favorite place is the Guadalupe church, which is a temple dedicated to the Catholic Lady of Guadalupe. It is a peaceful place where you can meditate and pray. I give emphasis to this place because I am devoted to her. Not because religion was implied to me by the Spanish regime, but because of my personal beliefs and experiences. As soonest I entered the church something magical happened! My knees bent and dropped on to the floor, I cried because I was so thankful for being there. I bought some souvenirs like rosaries, books, and special oils. I also entered the Blacksmith place where the carriages are made out of steel; there are several carriages on display. Some of them were used as transportation for the city majors, and fire department. The Mission also has a small room which was used as jail for those who committed minor crimes. This room only contained the prisoner stripped uniform and a bed. The area was surrounded by landmarks, water, and lots of animals like coyotes, eagles, and deer. Today, The fault of San Andres rides along El Camino Real where the Natives used to travel and the spanish used to built the different
Our issue is that we need a new vehicle because ours was wrecked and the rental car we were given to use after the wreck by the insurance company is about to expire, leaving us no mode of transportation. We are looking into buying a used vehicle from an advertisement in the local paper. We weren’t sure if the vehicle was still available so we have called the owner and inquired. We do not know who we are buying the car from but we are interested in purchasing the Volkswagen Jetta because of the advertisement in our local newspaper. Just from reading the car ad; we deem that the car fits all our needs and we need to get in touch with the owner fast in order to make sure they don’t sell it to someone else.
Every spring break my family and other family’s go to Mexico. Whall we are there we go to this incredible restaurant called Tap Anco and their slogan is why not. When you walk in you smell fresh tortillas and salsa all coming at you at once it is extraordinary and you see that the walls are covered with sticks it continues through the restaurant it sounds is so intriguing. When you turn to the left there are dinner tables scattered all over and in the center there's an old stove and a lady rolling out dough and cooking on an old brick stove cooking is fresh tortillas. When you keep walking you start to hear rushing water you look around the corner and there's a ginormous table and lanterns all around the room. You keep
Most of the time my mom and I ate at the “authentic” Mexican restaurant at the hotel it had mediocre food and a live band. My mom being a strange person made me (a loud exhausted little boy) accompany her around the town after dinner. There were many small shops that wouldn't even exist if thousands of tourists didn't like little trinkets and my mother wasn't any different. Walking around the town was where i learned about pesos. Which was weird cause at that time i thought the only currency in the world was the United States
It was a cold December night shortly after dusk, a likely setting for an event that would prove to be life altering. As fate would have it, this would be the night that I lost the material possession that truly meant the most to me. I would lose the one thing that gave me much pride and joy and excitement. I often think back and liken us to a newlywed couple, for we had only been together for 18 months and were still very much honeymooning. It was a night, a moment, that even now scoffs and mocks me as I travel thither and yonder with her replacement. But she can never be truly replaced and to call my current fix a replacement seems like a sort of blasphemy.
You have agreed to buy a new Subaru from a dealer. The down payment you will need to make on the new car is $9,400, which lets you take out a loan with manageable (but steep) monthly payments. You are low on ready cash, so if you can't come up with the down payment by selling your Volkswagen Jetta, you will have to borrow it at prime plus 5% interest. You are supposed to pick up the Subaru first thing tomorrow morning, so you want to sell the Jetta today.
Since I was a child, I have always dreamed I could have a car which belongs to me. I still remembered when I was four years old, my parents gave me a remote control car as my birthday gift. After that day I started to fall in love with cars.
Buying a car can be one of the happiest times of a young adult's life, but when they find out the cost of a new car it gets scary. As a young adult, he or she may not be able to buy a brand-new car so they will need to buy a used car. I remember buying my first used car very well, it was About three weeks ago. I was very excited to be able to be my first car, but I quickly noticed that the amount of money that I had saved up was not much. I did not have many options when it came to cars. My parents wanted me to get a safe and reliable car but I went against that and bought my dream car a Ford Mustang GT. It was very hard for me to find a good condition Ford Mustang but with the right resources and help, I was able to buy my dream car.
I could feel the cold brisk air brushing up against my skin as I ventured through the darkness in this vacant parking lot on a dreary Sunday night in November. I could see a car in the distance and began to approach it. The car appeared to be an old rusted out vehicle with extremely tinted windows that were dark like death. As I looked inside the vehicle I noticed that the car was as clean as a crystal. Not a speck of dust could be found on the interior and the floor mats were completely spotless. It was as if the vehicle had never been driven before. I then put my hand on the door and proceeded to step inside of the vehicle. As I did so I felt a sensation through my whole body that made me tingle. It was an unwelcoming sensation as if I was entering a whole new world. As I sat down there's was a smell, a sheer clean smell similar to that of a fresh load of laundry. Goosebumps came about all over my body as adrenaline rushed through my veins. I put my hands on the steering wheel and my mind took me into another dimension. Taking a glance in the rearview mirror I could see a mysterious person approaching the vehicle. As I examined the person I came to the conclusion that this must be the owner of the vehicle. I noticed they were dressed in all black and carrying what seemed to be a grocery bag of some sort. In panic, I got out of the car and looked at what appeared to be a male figure. The man was very masculine and tall. His mere presence was enough to strike fear into
Whether it’s a lifted truck running a hemi or a suped up WRX, your dream car embodies what you desire, the life you’d like to live, and the kind of person you’d like to be. Your real car embodies what you have, the life you live, and the kind of person you are.
