Celebrity Cruises are known for its Celebrity Distinction which is, “Extraordinary destinations. Culinary excellence. Intuitive service. Luxurious accommodations. And stunning design.” I was able to experience their cruises with my mom during the week of August 20 and it lives up to their word. Our cruise visited three ports of calls: San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.; and St. Maarten, all of which are in the eastern Caribbean. Even though these places are so close to each other, their customs and culture vary dramatically which we got to experience. In San Juan, we embarked on a city tour to explore the two different sides of San Juan: Old San Juan and New San Juan. We learned about the early history of the area through a visit to Castillo de San Cristóbal, the largest Spanish fort in the New World. Its towering site over the city made it the ideal place for protecting the area and today, for panoramic views of the city and the coast. The other destinations on our tour were short stops that allowed us a glimpse at notable places in the city. While the tour was interesting, much of the tour stops seemed like fillers. St. Thomas is famous for its snorkeling and its beaches. We joined a tour that took us out to two spots: Buck Island and Honeymoon Beach. Buck Island is a protected area is home to diverse aquatic ecosystems which attracts many visitors to the area. We visited a section filled with countless Green turtles and the occasional stingray. The
During the last decades, Madrid has surfaced as the heartbeat of modern business, art, technology, and fashion. Traveling to Spain on a tourist travel will only show me a glimpse of what Spain’s history treasures are, but this program will unveil many aspects of the Spanish culture that are unique and exclusive to the country. In addition, it will be a great opportunity to learn about my own culture a little better. As we already know, Spain conquered a vast majority of what is now the American continent. While in Madrid, and since I will be only a few hours from Seville, Spain; I would love to be able to visit the General Archive of the Indies which holds the records and complete documentation of the historical administration and discoveries made by the Spaniards in the New World during its prominent years in exploration. As a native Guatemalan, it would be fascinating to learn about my own roots from the accounts of the Spaniards who set foot on my country and many of the other American countries that were conquered by Spain. Sometimes, we get a better appreciation of history when it is viewed from both perspectives. It’s not the same to learn history of a country based on the narratives of a textbook, than to be actually experience it from its culture and people. The study abroad program will consist of a total of ninety classroom hours of interaction with native Spanish students and professors. In addition, one of the courses will be taught fully in Spanish, which will benefit me greatly by strengthening my Spanish speaking, reading, and writing skills. While in Spain, I hope to be able to interact with Spaniards and exchange information in order to compare and contrast their culture from my own. I’d also like to explore the city of Madrid,
I`ve been on planes, cars, and many things in my life but I have never been on a cruise, and on this Alaskan Cruise I was able to try new things. In our ship they had swimming pools, ping pong tables, casinos, and a extraordinary ice cream bar. One of my favorite parts of this trip was holding two baby sled dogs that were two weeks old. I also liked kayaking, plus I shared a kayak with my sister, Mia, and I controlled the kayak from the back. After that my family and I went on a bus ride to see caribou, bears, and glaciers. I also went on a hike and float with the Kendal`s (who are my cousins), because there daughter Annie was sleepy. I saw cool trees and fascinating wildlife. I even was allowed to eat berries that tasted like watermelon, but
Choosing vacations destinations can become a stressful process. However, if the goal is to find locations outside of the United States and wan to travel to countries in the Caribbean and Latin America I have a few suggestions for you. Negril, Jamaica and Cancun Mexico are among the best vacations spots I have ever visited. The beaches, the accommodations, and the food is amazing in both countries.
We will go on a chronological trip through the history of the city of San Diego. First covering the Native Americans. Then we will discuss the Spanish colonization. Followed by Mexican rule. We will finish with Current
On Friday I had the honor to visit the historical Rancho Los Cerritos House; also known as Rancho Los Cerritos or Casa de los Cerritos, in Long Beach, California, it was the largest and most impressive adobe residence raised in southern California during the Mexican period. The structure of the house was built in 1844 by merchant Jonathan Temple, a Yankee pioneer who became a Mexican citizen. Los Cerritos means "the little hills" in English. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970. I wasn’t lucky enough to visit this phenomenal and historical place until I took advantage of my history assignment and I decided to visit Rancho Los Cerritos with the company of some of my friends. On a Friday morning we took the chance and we
Born in 1460, Juan Ponce de Leon was made to be an explorer. Coming from a poor yet noble family in Santervás de Campos, Spain, Juan Ponce de Leon wanted to explore and obtain more money. He served as a page on the court of Aragon where he learned social skills, military tactics, and religion. He served in the military and fought using the military tactics he had acquired in the previous years. He became a conquistador shortly after his time in the military. As all conquistadors do, Juan Ponce de Leon sought for fame and fortune; he sought to explore and go to the New World. Ponce de Leon was very determined to explore and discover new treasures and riches. In this essay, we will discuss who Juan Ponce de Leon was and what he did, what Florida was like in the 16th century, and why the public should know more about Ponce de
The Disney Cruise Line also utilizes the rhetorical appeal of pathos in almost every one of their pictures to appeal to the reader’s emotions. Most of the pictures that are shown throughout the book contain elements that relate to people having a good time and smiling. For example the first page of the booklet shows several families gathered together to watch fireworks on the deck of the ship. This image appeals to the reader’s emotions as the reader sees several families having a good time and truly enjoying themselves. Seeing a large group of people so ecstatic, the reader cannot help but feel happy as well.
Mrs. Sparr, have you heard of Spaniard, Don Juan d’Aquila? Well, he fought in the battle of Kinsale in 1601. The Spaniard Inn was named after him so you should go there on your trip. Since you can’t decide over which place we students say to go to, why don’t you go get food instead of sightseeing. After all, you still need to eat right. In my opinion, even if you do pick someone else’s place to go still eat at The Spaniard Inn.

The only sound that filled my ears was my keyboard clicking as my fingers raced across it. I had been procrastinating from finishing this assignment all evening, but I knew I needed to get it done. The burning sunset was shining through the windows as I was finishing up. It was a peaceful silence, until I heard the soft whispers of my parents that ignited my sense of curiosity. I was concentrating hard; doing my best trying to make out the hushed words that were being spoken.

In addition Rivalry is at a peek because getting rid of a cruise industry cost more than to just keep into development.
I remember planning for this day for about two years. When I would finally get the chance to be with my best friends and take a road-trip to California to go to Disney Land, and now that the time to take that trip has come and gone I would like to talk about my most important journey.
Like it was yesterday I remember my first vacation on a cruise. My Dad and I went on a three- day long cruise to The Bahamas. I had never been on a cruise, so it was a new experience for me. We needed to be in Tampa for our departure, so we drove the two hours from Orlando, Florida to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My Dad and I used this time to talk, make plans for the trip and think about our upcoming adventures on the cruise.
Cruising has become popular in the UK and throughout the world for holidays. Breaking travel news states that, ‘Cruise holidays are on the rise and the cruise industry seems
Over the last few years, the cruise industry has been going through a number of changes. This is because there are more players in the market and many firms are offering aggressive pricing / packages in an effort to lure travelers. In the case of Celebrity Cruise Lines, the company had made a reputation for itself by reaching out to a core group of American customers. This accounted for 85% of the firms business, with 49% of clients as repeat travelers (who had used the company's services before). ("Celebrity
