To begin the interview the first question asked was, “In your own words can you please explain to me what PAL is, what you do, and why you chose to work for this organization?” We were able to get a better understanding as to what exactly is PAL. The police activities league is a non-profit organization. Melissa stated, “You see athletic league but, we are moving into activities because not all kids like sports, so we want to make sure we service many kids as possible.” They serve kids from 5-18 years old in the greater Danbury area, so any town that touches Danbury. Melissa Fracker is one out of the three staff members that work in the office. Melissa is the assistant director who is in charge of programing and operations. When we asked Melissa why she chose to work for this organization her face lit up, it was clear that she is very passionate for what she does. She has been involved with PAL for 8 years as stated earlier. Through her years at PAL she saw what the programs do for the kids and how many kids come through. Melissa implied, “If we didn’t do what we do then a lot of the programs we offer wouldn’t be available and an out reach to the community, it’s just seeing

Having no experience working on a real project before that involves the community or event management knowledge, this community-volunteering placement gave me an opportunity to explore my career field in marketing. It was all new to me and I had no idea of how it would be like or what to expect. I was provided with some background knowledge and guidance about community volunteering and what to expect when working for a non-for-profit organisation. However, I did not have a specific plan about how I was going to tackle this project or how I am going to manage my time, I thought I would take it as I go along as always I do with my other assignments.
I believe that I am a qualified candidate for this position because I am a very well-rounded person. I am a talented singer, pianist, and artist, I play tennis, figure skate, and swim, I enjoy and do well in science, and I am taking a math course three grades higher than my current grade. Recently, I have volunteered at my school and helped out incoming sixth graders. I communicate well with children as I am able to get them to listen and pay attention. I have also been to the Thinkery quite a few times, so I am familiar with the area.
When I first started in the non-profit sector I had a positive experience; however, it was a challenging time. Dynamic determination was evident; I made a choice to have self-development by taking a position that felt "too big" for me. I was young and I was offered the opportunity to manage all the business aspects of a foster care facility. In order to be successful in that position, intellectual flexibility was a must. Admitting

Her time came to an end with Chase when she started to have health issues. She did work a couple short term temporary roles that are not listed on her resume because they were very short assignments. She is very interested in this position at First Internet Bank of

I was encouraged to apply for this position as the staffing at that time was low. Before and during the interview, Paul and Mark told me I was capable of performing this role well and would be given support and coaching where required. I had no reason not to believe this as I had been working in my previous role for 17 months with the same manager David Osborne, who were fully aware of my abilities and development needs.
