Did Othello Love Desdemona

When Desdemona and Othello got married they loved each other. Othello's love for Desdemona did not begin to fade until he started believing every lie Iago whispered in his ear. Towards the end of the play Iago's lies corrupted Othello's trust completely. Which led Othello to kill Desdemona which obviously shows Othello no longer loved his sweet Desdemona. In the beginning of Othello, Othello showed his love for Desdemona. Othello gave Desdemona his mother’s handkerchief, “...She, dying, gave it to me,/ And bid me, when my fate would have me wived,/To give it to her. I did so; and take heed on’t;/ Make it a darling like your precious eye” (Shakespeare III.iv.63-66). The handkerchief was important in the play because it was the key to Othello's heart because his mother gave it to him to give to the wife of his dreams. “Othello should have trusted Desdemona, for she didn't sleep with Cassio.” (William). Othello starts to believe all of Iago's lies throughout the play. He starts doubting, “Damn her, lewd minx! O, damn her!/ Come, go with me apart; I will withdraw,/To furnish me with some swift means of death / “For the fair devil”...(Shakespeare III.iii.476-479). Othello is angry and it clearly shows that he trusts Iago way more than he trusts Desdemona. The whole time he did not want to believe all of Iago's lies but it falls into Iago's trap, which is what Iago wanted. Iago wanted Othello's rank. Othello went mad over this lie and it drove him crazy. It drove him so crazy that he ended up killing Desdemona.”Well, do it, and be brief; I will walk by. I would not kill thy unprepared spirit.
