INTRODUCTION A lot of people diet in order to stay fit and lose weight. I have tried dieting in the past and I loved it. But it also made me feel different. When you diet sometimes it makes you feel like a new or different person. There are many reasons to why people diet. Sometimes they don’t like the way they look and they want to lose weight. But sometimes its not good to diet. Dieting can cause health problems to some people. It could lead to you starving yourselves to stay skinny. In order for you to stay fit and skinny you don’t just start eating healthy and going on a diet. Saulters 2 ENERGY AND DIET Some of our energy comes from the foods that we eat and the liquids we drink. Three main nutrients that we use for energy are carbohydrates, protein, and fats. Carbohydrates are the most important source. Your body can also use protein and fats for energy when carbs have been depleted. If you want to lose weight then dieting and exercising will help you to lose weight. Therefore the best way to lose weight is to eat smaller portions, choose healthier foods, and get more exercise. Dana Joy Altman said “Smaller portions, no seconds, more fruit, less bread and cheese, longer walks”. DIETING Melissa Rifkin says “the body breaks the sugar down in the blood and blood cells use the glucose to provide energy”. Participants completed questionaires about lifetime dieting experiences and provided derrographic info, including heights, and weights. Healthy
