When students or many people want to try to talk, write a sentence, or read some book they will need a word then ot it is mean that they need vocabulary so they can do that things. Beside that, vocabulary also the important component that usually uses in reading instruction beside the text comprehension, how they pronounce the words, phonics, and how the students awarre abouth the phonic in reading. In Oxford dictionary, it explain that vocabulary as a list words that difficult or is not familiar for people and give explanation of that word meaning and with a piece of specialist or foreign language test. Alternatively, there is another argument that said a word has not only included by explanation but also how that word realted into the world and this argument comes from Stahl (2005).
Vocabulary has the important part for students so it makes many teachers should teach about vocabulary knowledge for the begining. There are many ways to teach their

There are two method that teacher commonly use in the class to teach them between reading comprehension and vocabulary. The two method are indirect teaching method and direct teaching method. In indirect teaching method, the teacher will teach them some strategies which are so useful to make them easiest to find out the meaning in the words that they do not know while they are reading. In indirect teaching method, students also should be analyzed words in the reading task and have knowledge to use dictionary to find the meaning of the words. The second method is direct learning method. In this method students will be learnt to use three strategies to learn vocabulary such as cognitive, memory, and compensation strategies by Oxford (1990). Moreover, with direct teaching method, teacher wants students know about direct learning strategies and make their vocabulary increase day by
Some children may not be able to understand the words being spoken to them and/or the grammatical rules of sentence construction. Therefore, when their teacher tells the class what they need to do, or explains a new idea or concept,9 they may struggle to understand what is being said. Having inappropriate vocabulary is

The essential literacy strategy goes along with the standards and learning objectives by using context clues to help the student figure out unknown or unfamiliar words. Students will build reading comprehension skills by using context clues for figuring out unknown or unfamiliar words while they are reading. Then the students will perform the strategies individually. The related skills address the use of prior knowledge of synonyms and antonyms during the hook and transition portion of the lesson. The reading and writing connections go along with the learning objectives, because the students will read their assigned book and picking out words they do not understand. The students will have to write the sentence with the unknown word in it, and use context clues to figure out the definition of the unknown word. The central focus for this unit of study is for the students to use context clues to better their comprehension of what they have read in their assigned books. The students will be able to use context clues within sentences to determine the meaning of unknown or unfamiliar words. These lessons deal with comprehending text by using context clues to help figure out unknown words. The lessons build off each other by adding more detail to learning about context clues. As the lessons progress the students will be more independent when using context clues. The first lesson is learning about what context clues are. The second lesson will focus on using context clues to figure
The lesson should first be introduced to the class through the vocabulary. This gives the students the back ground on the words used to describe what the lesson is about, and allows them to use the words in context with what they are doing.
It is important to develop a basic understanding of concepts and vocabulary before reading simply because if a student does not understand what they are reading, they will not only lose motivation and relevance, they will also learn nothing and benefit nothing. It will have been a waste of both their time and yours as the teacher. Having a basic understanding of vocabulary is key because content and concepts are taught through vocabulary. IF students do not understand vocabulary before reading, they will not
Building vocabulary is an important task in the early grades. There has long been debate on how one should go about teaching vocabulary such as, it is better to teach a limited number of words fully and more intense or expose children to many words to enhance “incidental learning”. Research has proven that incorporating both into instruction is most effective. Read-aloud and teachers increase use of vocabulary have also been proven to help vocabulary and word knowledge. There are three tiers of words that children are presented in their life. Tier one words are those that they are most familiar with such as park, tier 2 are the increasingly hard words such as fortunate and finally the tier 3 words are words that students have rarely been exposed
First, vocabulary teaches pronunciation and the definition of words used in a particular language. If you know the meaning of a word, it is easier to use and understand when communicating. I also learned that vocabulary teaches
In addition to the vocabulary in their readings, students have been expected to learn twenty-five new vocabulary words per week. The focus is not on rote memorization of definitions; students must know synonyms, antonyms, and especially how to use vocabulary words in the context of the entire sentence. They study how to choose the right word for their purpose (diction) and analyze the subtleties of language.
This gives students the words they need to know in order to communicate in a proper way. The two different types of vocabulary are oral and reading; oral is words that are used while speaking or notice when listening and reading is the words that are noticed in text. This concept is important because when children start to speak, they eventually start to understand and notice words in text. Also, it is important for them to understand the meaning of the words in order to understand the text the are reading. This is why the teacher in my class has the children become familiar with the books and reading them by going over the words and their meanings, so they can understand the story in general and they’d be able to sequence things more
vocabulary is displayed in my paper because it is better to keep the reader interested in the paper
Chapters 6 through 9 discuss strategies that aid in comprehension. These chapters dive deeper into strategies that will help a reader’s comprehension while thoroughly explaining strategies that should be implemented in a classroom. One main point is that readers should follow their thinking tracks and explore their thinking and be able to notice when they are straying away from the meaning of the reading. It’s important that students are able to make connections while they’re reading. Another main point would be that questions help clarify and unlock a deeper meaning while reading. Visualizing and inferring is an important aspect for reading because it helps aid in understanding. Comprehension strategies allow readers to know a variety of tools that are beneficial.
Good reading comprehension is a fundamental element that students must have to attain. Through researches, it is clearly stated that reading proficiency has a strong relationship between reading proficiency and academic success at all ages included in the university level. It is definitely important to discuss what strategy is the best way to practice to improve BSIE students reading comprehension for the sake of students’ success in the field of teaching.
Although vocabulary is the sub-skill of a language, it plays a very important role in language learning and teaching. In fact, vocabulary is central to language and is of paramount importance to language learners. On the other hand, words are the building blocks of a language that are used to label objects, actions, and ideas. In other words, people cannot convey the intended meaning without knowing vocabulary. It is widely accepted that vocabulary is a very important part in English language learning because no one can communicate in any meaningful way without vocabulary. As McCarthy (1990) stated, the single, biggest component of any language course is vocabulary. Nation (1990) also affirms that vocabulary can be considered as the most important element in language learning because Learners think that many of their
Use of visual materials. The classroom is full of billboards, flash cards, big images, cardboards which from what I observed are suitable to teach vocabulary. They enjoy visual activities such as pointing things in a cardboard, etc.
Vocabulary plays a significant role in English as second language learning process. For the majority of English as Second Language(ESL) learners, the ultimate goal of learning the language is to understand (read and listen) and communicate (write and speak) with little difficulty and the lack of sufficient vocabulary may be the constraint of such goal (Folse, 2004). As the bedrock of English and as well as language, vocabulary also facilitates the development of other language skills: lexical richness leads to the progress in the use of language, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing skills (Nation, 1994). Reversely, The improvement in such skills may enhance learners vocabulary size as the exposure to more learning materials improves the capacity to acquire new vocabulary.
