The change of the Direct Leaders to Organizational Leaders
Nowadays, leaders has one important function in any organization, mainly in the Army. For this reason, it is necessary understand the dare to them in switch of the junior leaders for the senior leaders, changing their attributes and confront other challenges. Knowing their strengths and weakness, leaders in any level serve as a mirror. On that account, they need focus on the objectives, and develop good communication skills in order to transmit their advices and orders. Furthermore, leaders can work training new soldiers to be leaders in the future and to having an effective organization climate. Thereby, a leader has to understand his purpose and confront the issues during the shift of the direct leaders to organizational leaders.
Firstly, a leader need to realize his strong points and his weak points. This way, he will have more conditions to guide soldiers. Wherefore, strong leaders have to use their features in accordance with the plans and opportunities. In the Direct leadership, they are in a position in the chain of command that they do not receive much attention when commit some kind of mistake. This leadership style is where the leader actually has to plan and synchronize training in order that the small units are able to produce the tactical into the operational action. At the organization level a leader is not in a traditional leadership position when they are directly in charge of soldiers. Leaders in this style are the one whom establish section that develop plans and create orders. When a result is achieved at this level the entire team is responsibility for the outcome. Organizational leaders make decision that affect the long term goal and helps plan the short term mission for their subordinate units.
Independent of the Army and country you serve, leadership is always an important subject. There are many civilian books and military manuals talking about leadership. The United States Army divides the subject leadership in three levels. These levels are Direct Leadership, Organizational Leadership, and Strategic Leadership. In this paper, the focus will be only about the first two levels. According with you rank, you will work more in one of these levels. Because of that, most part of time there is not much interaction between higher-level leaders and lower level leaders. Despite the limited interaction between higher level leaders like Brigade commanders with the lower level leader like company commander it’s not affect a satisfactory mission accomplishment.

The Army measures its leaders by their attributes and their core leader competencies. Also, a leader must be able to train, coach and mentor their subordinates. People desire quality leadership to assist with achieving their goals, albeit personal or professional development. Being a leader is always a challenge, and assuming a new command is challenging. There are a lot of expectations to me as a leader. The organization has selected me to a new position, and they believe I fulfill their standards for their leaders. The organization trust and expect me to lead, develop and achieve. My superiors and subordinates have a lot of expectations. They expect me to lead them in the best way to solve our assigned missions. In my new assignment as commander of 4th Armor Brigade Combat Team (ABCT), the main critical leadership problems are the lack of cohesive teams, ethical and work standards and the level of stress. Communication plays a critical role in leadership at all organization levels. However, effective communication is not an easy task, and any group of people needs to be careful with channels and modes of communication. There are old and new barriers that result in incomplete communication, miscommunication, and broken communication. Any malfunctioning in a conversation resulting from the complexity of communication has severe consequences both at individual and organizational levels.

The director had experience of 15 years of experience as a supervisor and Doctorate in public health, however the director didn’t have any experience as leader. On the meet and greet day, the new director Dr. Grant was introduced to all the staff, and he had his own introduction time where he was able to share his past experience, his inspiration and he also shared that he chose to become leader when saw he had the capability to become one.
