Introduction
On any network, it must be communicate through some form of media. In this world, only human can communicate through sound waves in the air while computers or other electronic devices that can link to each other need to communicated through cables, radio waves, magnetic waves and light. (Gupta, 2012) Transmission media allows computer to send and receive messages among each other but only within the same transmission media. There are consist of two main type of transmission media, they are guided media/bounded transmission media and unguided media/unbounded transmission media. Guided Media/Bounded Transmission Media
Guided media is also called bounded transmission media, it’s linked through external conductor such as copper and

Coaxial cable is easy to install, unlike twisted pair cable and fiber optic cable that need specific tools to install and fiber optic even need professional to install. This cable is also easy to expand. Lastly, coaxial cable has moderate level of EMI immunity, it won’t get much interference like twisted pair cable do. (network, n.d.)
Disadvantages of Coaxial
Coaxial cable has high attenuation rate over long distance. Besides that coaxial cable is bulky as it made up of several material and thick copper. (Gupta, 2012)
Application of Coaxial
Coaxial cable is used on cable tv to transmit channel from the satellite and allow us to watch tv channel. Besides that coaxial cable can be used for telecommunication, it can support up to 10, 800 voice conversation. Lastly, coaxial cable is used on traditional Ethernet Local Area Networks (LAN), it can support transmission rate up to 10Mbps. (Gupta, 2012) Unguided Media/Unbounded Transmission Media
Unguided media is also called unbounded transmission media, unguided media transmit data in the form of waves, and it do not follow specific like guided media do. There are three kind of unguided media, they are microwave, satellite and
The whole thing is usually wrapped in another layer of insulation and, finally, in an outer protective layer. (/coaxial_cable.html)
But of course this is not the most used method to strip cable. It will work if you need it right then.
Data security: Magnetic fields and current induction work in two ways, they just don’t generate noise in signal carrying conductors; they also let the information on the conductor to be leaked out. Since there are no radiated magnetic fields around optical fibers; electromagnetic fields are confined within the fiber. This makes it impossible to tap the signal being transmitted over fiber cable. Thus the fiber cable is the most secure medium available for carrying sensitive data.
When first thinking of fixed line networks they think of the coaxial cable (coax) which connects to their television and twisted pair terminated with a RG-11 plug for their phones and faxes. There two variation of coax that are used in networking, thicknet (RG8) and thinnet
Cable internet is a classic go-to option for broadband internet in Winston Salem. Cable internet in Winston Salem is highly regarded due to the bundle deals. For a flat rate, most people like to bundle their internet, television, and VoIP services. The speed of cable internet isn't necessarily the fastest on the market, but it does go faster than 20 Mbps. If you live in an area surrounding Winston Salem, cable internet is a nice choice because it is available everywhere.
Coaxial cable uses a single conductor in the middle of a cable and the central conductor is surrounded by an insulator which is called the dielectric. Coax cables have become obsolete. Unshielded twisted pair cabling, also known as UTP cabling, has become the most common used network cabling. UTP cabling consists of four twisted pairs of wire, which have a different number of twists per foot, all encased on one sheath. This cabling is graded by different categories. Category 5 is recommended for Ethernet speeds of 100 Mbps. Category 5e, for running gigabit Ethernet or 1000BaseT networks. Category 6 and Category 6a are used to give better performance at higher speeds. Fiber optic cable is wave guided or light guided because it guides the light waves along the length of the cable. Single mode fiber optic cable can operate over long distances. Because fiber allows one mode of light to propagate, light pulses put on the fiber keep their shape much longer. This allows the light pulses to travel much further without interfering with other
This created physical connection between PC’s and the network line. Connected data’s are transporting data’s through the network. Cable is a medium through which information usually moves to one network to another network.
The FCC does not license cable TV as a requirement for operating the systems because the municipal government is the primary regulator. Unlike broadcasting, the cable systems’ legal rights can be controlled by cities and countries, or by local governments that franchise cable operators.
12. Category 5e/6 Cable : cabling is used as a cabling infrastructure for 10BASE-T (Ethernet), full duplex 100BASE-TX (Fast Ethernet) and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet, or GbE) networks. The Cat 5e standard provides performance of up to 100 MHz and can be used up to a maximum length of 100 meters.
In 1950, the use of a single-channel "strip-amp" amplifier permitted the extension of cable systems to homes located
2.What are the following cable types used for and how are they made? How are they different?
But, unfortunately due to the enormous cost and very little public interest and demand Time-Warner decided to pull the plug on its nationwide change over to digital lines. This shows that the cable companies are surpassing the consumer demand for technology, making this industry a very hard one to market.
Televisa maintains a massive cable network, spanning in excess of thirty-thousand kilometers of fiber optic and eighty-thousand kilometers of coaxial television cable. In addition, the company operates four primary broadcasting channels in Mexico City, as well as numerous affiliated stations throughout all of Mexico. In addition to cable services and broadcasting services, Televisa also manages the sale of advertising on its pay-TV networks as well as their online holdings.

The field of communications is one in which the technologies are changing on an almost daily basis. Numerous different technologies have been pursued over the past few years; each designed to essentially accomplish several basic purposes in terms of community service. Three of the most actively pursued application include interactive distance learning, video conferencing, and entertainment. While it is the first two, video conferencing and interactive distance learning, which would serve to the best advantage in terms of education and business; it is the last, entertainment which has the most appeal to the largest number of people. The application of various communications applications in
