It consists of age appropriate, medically accurate content about sex, puberty, contraceptive use, and human development. In many forms, it can be categorized as a helpful way to teach young children about choices they can take in order to prevent many sexually transmitted diseases, teenage unwanted pregnancy, and delay sexual intercourse. The option of whether or not to provide public schools with the opportunity to participate in the present-day trend of separating classes by gender has been debated for years. While many educators, parents, activists, and policymakers argue that single-sex education unleashes academic excellence for both boys and girls, evidence supporting this claim is insufficient. Single-sex education is ineffective as it increases gender stereotypes by reducing the ability for both genders to effectively work together. In all-boy schools, boys who spend more time with boys are increasingly aggressive, while girls who spend more time with other girls are stereotyped. Supporters of single-sex education often point to obvious success in terms of reforming education; however single-sex approaches have failed to produce positive results. Rather than including statistics and research, supporters of single-sex education argue every child is different, and with this type of diversity comes a preference for certain skills and surroundings. The United States, along with multiple parts of the world, have stretched the influence single-sex education has on society, by making it prevalent to one's well-being. There are strong claims for and against single-gender education around the globe. Despite extensive research in developing effective teaching practices for boys and girls separately, there are fundamental similarities between meeting the educational needs of girls and boys. There are more commonalities between the two than there are dissimilarities. Boys and girls seem to elicit different kinds of teaching they need due to the constraints that social norms put on each gender. For countries with European roots in their culture, this is also true. Although certain sex-linked characteristics are biologically inherent, how one learns is not dependent on their gender. Both girls and boys are relational learners, educe the kinds of teaching they need and find greater meaning in lessons they find interesting. It is not what sex individuals are born as that dictates what kinds of teaching methods they require, but rather it is how they are designed by their environments that shape their needs. This is particularly true for girls; and even more so for girls of color.

Just as there are arguments against single-sex schooling, there are also arguments for the use of these schools. One person who supports these schools is Hillary Clinton; an article by Nancy Autin states that “In 2001, in pursuit of gender equity, an amendment bill coauthored by Hillary Clinton allowed provisions for public schools and districts to offer the choice of single-sex schools or classrooms to its students” (1). This amendment was adamant on providing equal opportunities for boys and girls in these single-sex schools, while also using the results as research towards furthering the theory that boys and girls learn differently. As the issue over single-sex schools began to arise, people began to research to prove whether or not these schools are the most effective way of learning; furthermore, many arguments are now being made which support that single-sex schools are actually a more effective way of learning for students.

Single sex schools are common within the fait schools and some schools who believe there association within their faith would work out better within a diverse atmosphere. Some believe that having single sex schools is a good idea because then boys would feel more concentrated with their school work instead of trying to impress or compete for the girls. Parents also believe that boys would participate more and be focus with their education if girls were not in the same class as them. As a result, single sex schools should be banned to give children the opportunity to gain a better education and interacting with the opposite sex. Teaching boys and girls in separate classrooms it’s an old approach in which has recently gained momentum. The reason being is some debate on the fact that it reduces boys’ and girls’ opportunities to work together, and reinforces sex stereotypes while others believe that single-sex schooling results in better academic outcomes. Although there has been multiple case studies to find some common ground or to see which one is more beneficial or affective the results fluctuates.

In the history, many famous females get education from single-sex school. Such as, Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton, Gloria Steinem and Song May-ling. They are Former US Secretary of State, the principal of Harvard University and famous political leader. Absolutely, they come from different countries, even different race, they have the same point which is from single-sex school. It is a very common phenomenon for these people who want to get success study in single-sex school. Nowadays, more and more people try to into single-sex school, and they would rather to pay more tuition to these school instead of coeducational school, and why these school will train a variety of talents? In modern society, most people believe coeducational school is the real school, and only this type of school will give students better future, but another think single-sex school will provide higher education that coeducational school. In my opinion, I strongly believe with the latter idea. Everything has two sides, although single sex school is not perfect, it still have some good points, such as, good teaching facility.
