The Truth Behind Disney Movies
Disney movies are created in a traditional and similar way. Throughout the movies, it can be seen that all Disney movies lots of things in common. Whether it is a based on the life of an animal or human. They all have a certain goal they need to accomplish. Disney sticks to his own style and bases all moves to fit that specific style. In order to make it a Disney movie it must include, the death of a parent or loved one, a villain that tries to stop the main character from being able to reach their goal, and it must always end with an accomplished/happy scene.
To make it into Disney, a villain must be introduced at the beginning of the movie, who makes the journey of the main character seem impossible. For instance, in the Little Mermaid, Ursula wants to take Ariel's voice. Ursula is able to play mind games and truck Ariel into giving up her voice for a pair of legs. This makes it difficult for Ariel because she is not able to communicate with the prince. She can only talk through hand motions, which makes it hard for people to understand. But in Moana, she

In Frozen, Elsa's parents go on a trip and the ship crashes and sinks. Both of their parents passed away. It is a sad moment but Elisa and Anna both become stronger. The death of their parents makes them independent but also causes sadness. Also during The Lion King, the uncle, Scar tricks Simba to go into the jungle of elephants so Mufasa would get worried and go looking for him. And that is exactly what happened and when Mufasa went looking, Scar attacks Mufasa and kills him. Lastly, at the beginning of Bambi, she is walking with her mother as a man shoots her. Bambi has to raise herself with any parents but she does get the help of the animals from the forest. Despite the death of her mother Bambi grew up a wonderful, friendly, and caring friend. Disney movies kill off a parent at the beginning of their
Combining creativity, artistry, and storytelling, Walt Disney Studios is a technological filmmaker-driven animation studio responsible for creating some of the most beloved tales of all time. Disney’s first accomplishment debuted in 1937 with its first fully animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. They were said to have “pioneered a new form of family entertainment” (Walt). Whether it’s a Pixar film or princess movie, children are taught valuable lessons all while they go on adventures alongside the characters they look up to and trust. For example, a little girl may glide through the forest with Bambi, and in the distance hear Thumper say, “If there isn’t anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.” Furthermore, a little boy may play with Pinocchio while hearing the Blue Fairy’s voice announce, “A lie keeps growing and growing until it’s as plain as the nose on a face.” More
For my final paper where we had to pick a topic from current popular culture, I decided to write my paper with the focus on Disney movies. More particularly with the focus on the Disney princess movies. When it comes to the Disney movies they have always been and will always be such a huge part of our society. While growing up most children grow up watching these movies and get the idea that that is what they want to be when they grow up. When you ask a young girl what she wants to be when she is older there is a good chance that she will say that she wants to be a princess when she grows up. I have always been such a huge fan of Disney movies and I have a feeling I always will be. I found it very interesting this semester when we spend the short class period talking about the Disney female and male characters. It is rather interesting and something that I can say that I really never noticed before but the fact that the majority of all the female characters all had the same face shape. Whereas the males there were none two that were the same. However for this paper I will be looking into the relationship to cultural meanings about gender and other identity markers, such as race, sexuality, and cultural norms as seen in some of the more classic well known Disney movies.
Perhaps, the reasons these films are so popular and influential to children is simply because their focus is directed distinctively towards them. Each character in Disney films possesses a distinct personality wherein children who watches these films may tend to characterize themselves as the character also.
The Walt Disney Company had become a powerful source in creating childhood culture all over the world. Its animated films in
All of these combined affects everyday lives. They do not just make movies, but they foster imagination in children and adults alike. Disney stores provide a variety of opportunities for children and adults to parade around in their favorite Disney movie pajama pants and other apparel. One can find many items with a logo of Mickey Mouse or some other character. Disney always releases a movie during the week of Thanksgiving because the filmmakers know that people will be with their families and be all together.
“If you can dream it you can do it” – Walt Disney. Walt Disney, the man who made Mickey Mouse and inspired the World. What do think of when you hear the words Frozen, Jungle Book, Little Mermaid, and Big hero 6. All of these movies are made by the Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney is the man who started the Walt Disney Company. However the original name of the company was The Disney Brothers Studio. With the help of some friends and family Walt Disney dreams came true. Walt Disney who is an incredible animator, made a remarkable and timeless character is named Mickey Mouse. By creating Mickey Mouse he began a journey of impacting America with a few bumps on the way. But by pursuing his dream he created joy and happiness through the great depression and World War II and inspired everyone to follow their dreams.
That’s the biggest shared theme within all Disney movies. Throughout the analysis above, we can see that Disney movies are conveying its value to enlightened the outlook of audience with below points: to be noble and honest, to respect our parents, elders and people different from us, to love our friends and help them in trouble. The list can be continued: always remember that you are absolutely unique; never stop believing in magic; make new friends and preserve true friendships; always learn and discover new things, broaden horizons and to be open and ready for new experiences; follow your heart and listen to your conscience; never let others’ negative thoughts affect your life; never give up on your goals; do your best and work hard to achieve your dreams and potentials; never lose yourself, and be what you are.
Disney struggled for many years before he could create a successful company (Walt Disney). Disney showed many young adults how failure should not stop them from doing what they love. It took Disney many years of rejection and failure before people recognized him as a talented individual. Throughout his career, Disney created many films such as Pinocchio and Cinderella (Walt Disney). Disney used stories like these to show children and adults that they can achieve whatever they set their mind to as long as they try. Characters like Pinocchio and Cinderella were great example setters. Pinocchio taught love for fathers and achieving a goal through hard work Cinderella taught about love and happy endings. Disney took time to appreciate his hard work. He once stood in a spot in Disneyland for one hour greeting guests and taking it all in (Lenburg). The special thing about Disney was that he loved what he did, and his positive attitude inspired others to do what they love. When they saw his happy face and his kindness, they learned that they can also be successful at doing what they love. Disney showed people why they should do the desire in their
You have to grow up a little bit (but not TOO much!) to see that Disney movies have life lessons that are actually more than a child can understand. They are a source of laughter, lessons, and an escape from a life that has enough troubles of its own. Some kids were forced to grow up faster because of the life they were born into. For people whose childhood ended up far less magical than they deserved, it is a way for them to live a fairytale that they never got.
Every movies develop by Disney are solid and very high-quality. In addition to that, Disney has a very good marketing strategy by releasing the
Disney, the home of characters like Mickey Mouse, Peter Pan, Elsa, The little mermaid, and so many others that we’ve all come to love over the years. But here’s my question,
Watching the trailers before movies in the theater and going home waiting for the day the movie comes out. The anticipation would build up and excitement would grow day by day. Finally, the day would come and walking out there would be no disappointment. Disney never fails to make great movies and it’s all due to certain characteristics they apply in the best films.
A young girl with black hair and brown eyes sees a beautiful princess named Cinderella who has blond hair, blue eyes, and flawless skin. She believes she will never be as radiant and beautiful as the princess because they don’t look alike. Like this girl, there are many cases of Disney films having lasting negative effects on children. Disney influences children more than any other age group since most merchandise and movies are geared toward younger audiences around thirteen or younger. Walt Disney Productions have a negative effect on children through stereotypes, violent actions, and sexism presented through its characters’ physical characteristics and actions. Disney has been
These years, many children at a very young age have exposed to Disney movies, and these movies usually convey the Disney ideology to children. However, the Disney ideology in animated films is not completely what people thought it is. Majority of the parents do not know that Disney movies have ruined the thought of many children in some sort of degree; the reason for that is Disney films have shown the racism concept to children, and under subconscious situation. Children are like a sponge; they absorb all of the story tales in the movies and remember them deeply into their heart and head. Those children’s future will be affected without knowing anything else; particularly the questions are related to racism. I am a Malaysian, and I am a Chinese. The population of Malaysia consists of three main ethnic groups that are Malays, Chinese, and Indians. I love to watch Disney animated films since I was a child. Disney films have shown the racism concept under subconscious situation. Disney films have influenced my thinking and behavior deeply towards other races, and I did not realize that my thinking and behavior actually showed that I was racist. In my experience, every time I saw an Indian or Malay on a street, I would become cautious; this is because their skin tone is darker than mine so I think they were bad person, and they would harm me with no reason. Disney usually use color symbolism like black color as evil and white color as goodness to show which characters are bad

The company collects this information and then recycles what it knows works. Every aspect of an animated Disney film is studied in order to ensure that it fits the Disney mold.
