Encourage an atmosphere of trust and respect within the team so that the team members will co-operate with each other effectively (Para 5, Young entrepreneur council, 2013). Integrity is an important attribute of the leader and which is significant for effective team building. Integrity is a characteristic developed by following moral principles. If the team members perceive a high degree of integrity in the leader’s behavior, then greater is the trust and confidence they have in the leader and amongst themselves. Another important aspect for effective team building is culture and value system prevalent in the organization. Teams based on ethical values develop organizations with principles of honesty, openness and transparency. Organizations in addition to focusing on profits should also focus on developing a value system based on good ethics as responsible corporate citizens. Most business leaders focus only on profits and not on values. If profits are the only reason for the company’s existence, then the work environment prevailing within the organization is competitive not co-operative (Para 3, Edmonds, 2014). Such a work environment breeds distrust and selfishness, not respect and teamwork (Para 3, Edmonds, 2014). Sound value system based on good ethics of honesty, integrity, faith, mutual respect, transparency and cooperation within the organization are prerequisites of effective and strong teams essential for company’s growth. Leaders must be positive role models and should always display the values of their organization in their behavior very aggressively and openly.
