Donald Trump knew exactly what he was doing. There are now 15 candidates for the GOP nomination. So, in order to winnow down the number that can be accommodated on the stage, the GOP came up with the "play off" rule for the debates, which are very important for viable candidates. Under this rule, a candidate has to maintain a 10 percent poll standing in the national polls. Before Trump announced his candidacy, he was averaging 2 percent poll in his standing, and he was not among four Republican candidates like Jebb Bush Dr. Ben Carson who are in the play off with the above 10 percent threshold. So, what would Trump do? Play to the Tea Party, right-wing conservative base of the party who are dominant in the primaries, and immigration control is one of their …show more content…
border depress wages, drain the economy without just lambasting a particular ethnic group or indulging racial profiling in the most direct, egregious fashion. But, what Trump said was red meat for right-wing conservatives. They loved it. They devoured and digested. They liked what they heard. So Trump jumped from 2 percent poll standing to 11 points now--second to Jebb who's the GOP primary front-runner for now. But, Trump is paying a hefty price for his loud-mouthedness. Univision,Televisa, NBC-UNiversal: All (television networks) have dumped Mr. Trump's Miss USA beauty pageant organization. The pageant scheduled in my city Baton Rouge, Louisiana for July 12 has taken a hit. Because, of diminished TV exposure or lack of it. But, the show will go on and shown on Miss USA web site. Macy's Department Store has joined the boycotters. It will no longer carry Trump clothing brands. But, the biggest headache Tim Stanley alluded to is the implication for the GOP in the general election, for a party trying to mend fences
Does President Donald J. Trump deserve to be impeached after his first year in office? To answer the previous question first contemplate over what is a president and what makes a good one? According to Merriam-Webster, a president is “the chief officer of an organization usually entrusted with the direction and administration of its policies. (pg.1)” An adequate president is a person that can build a team, create culture, discipline, discipline others, and that knows how to organize. The current president was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York. Previously, Trump was a real estate mogul, entrepreneur, and billionaire and does not have any experience in the political field. Being or becoming a businessman would take a various amount of leadership and social skills, but how does Donald Trump remain the president today with all the ruthless offenses and lack of experience? This candidate would not be qualified as a good president due to his reckless determinations, upsurges and he simply does not meet the requirements.

There are any reasons why hillary clinton should have won. Im am going to state only a few reasons why donald trump should have lost. Hillary even won the popular vote and still lost the election to a rapist a sexist and a racist. And the many other horrible things that donald trump is. Donald trump violates a lot of the constitution not letting people have the same rights. Deporting people who are citizens just because they look wrong to him. He's a jerk and bully he doesn't care what other people want just what he wants. When he says he will “make america great again” no it should be he will “make america bad again”. All he ever does is criticize people around him. He doesn't care what they think all he cares about is himself. He goin got cause a war with someone (most likely iraq).
Now that the President-elect is, as he said, in the “big league,” he appears surprisingly tame, and at times, even dignified. One could even argue that his words and actions are befitting of a statesman. Perhaps he realizes that his obnoxious, cutting remarks would only pour fuel over the fiery resentment of the protesters, ultimately making it unprofitable to him.
Trump victory ‘incredible’ reads the front page of The Journal Gazette, and yes, effectively that’s the way it was. Sad was the final result of the presidential elections 2016. Ever since he announced his candidacy to become president of the Divided States of America, Donald Trump was heavily criticized and was never given credit or remote chances of winning. We were too busy criticizing his incoherencies and dumb ideas he had to become the next president of the Divided States of America. The truth of it is that we did not pay attention that, while he was working trying to enamor the voters of the people that had never participated in a presidential election, we were too busy criticizing, judging and laughing at the images that constantly showed the racial tensions and hatred prevalent in most of his political campaign rallies toward the
It is hard to believe that an individual like Donald Trump would now be the president of the United States of America. Many individuals believed that Trump would have never run until he did. Then, others said he would never win the primaries until he did. Finally, everyone assumed that there were little to zero possibilities that Trump would actually become one of the United States presidents until he did and is our president today, and is currently inside the White House running the country. For most of the society, it was a huge shock, there was a fear of deportation in many of the immigrant families going around. However, for others, they were satisfied with the
What might a Trump presidency look like? With the general elections coming up in November, it is still unsure which candidate will accept their seat in presidency due to the uprising amount of Trump supporters. In the light of his publicity, the chances for Trump’s victory in the Republican presidential nomination has grown significantly since his winnings in early-voting states. Also, Trump’s lead in polls and his ability to put himself in the spotlight has contributed to the large turnout of supporters simply because of that fact that he is not afraid to speak his mind and his outrageous claims to make America “great again.” As Trump gains publicity, people must try to understand and educate themselves of the controversial plans that he intends to carry out throughout his
On January 30, 2018 President Donald Trump was applauded as he made his way down the United States Capitol. In the beginning of President Trump's speech he urged both parties, the republicans and democrats, to have an open mind in order to present unity as a nation to the citizens. President Trump wanted to clarify up front “The state of the Union is strong, because our people are strong.” Throughout President Trump’s speech, he addressed many issues present in our nation such as the economic status, immigration, and infrastructure. President Trump also went on a tangent declaring the accomplishments achieved this past year, such as 2.4 million new jobs, lower tax rated for hard working Americans, and trading relationships becoming fair.
November 8th 2016 is when our next presidential election will take place. Many of us are wondering who we should vote for, the Democratic Party leader Hillary Clinton or the Republican Party leader Donald Trump. Hillary’s email scandal makes her untrustworthy and Donald Trump’s ignorant nature make it extremely difficult to choose a candidate, to choose between a lesser of two evils. We could vote third party, try to make sure no party gets a majority and hope the electoral colleges votes for that third party, but no third-party candidate has won the presidential election ever, all the way back to the first president George Washington in 1789. It would take many people to make it happen now.
With less than a month left in the presidential race, Eric Trump went one-on-one with ABC’s “This Week” host, George Stephanopoulos, to defend the questionable campaign of his father.

“GOP ‘wall of shame’ on display inside Trump campaign HQ” presents a rather objective report about Donald Trump and his “wall of shame” inside his headquarters. This wall contains pictures of each of the candidates that dropped out of the presidential race, including the dates each of the candidates left. Unlike other reports on presidential candidates, this author took a more objective report, leaving as much of his personal bias out of the article as he possibly could. However, the author did not have a selective approach when writing this article, because he went from talking about the “wall of shame,” to Donald Trump’s desire of Kasich to drop out of the race, to Donald

At the conclusion of President Barack Obama’s historical consecutive terms in office there is going to be a large number of candidates that are vying for the nominations of the respective parties. Due to the constitutional term limits imposed on the President, Obama is barred to seek re-election in 2016. While there are about 10 candidates running for the republicans, there are only two still in the running for the Democratic Party. The way candidates are recognized by their respective parties to become a candidate for the United States Presidency is first by receiving an invitation to compete in the primaries, then being included in the nationwide polls, as well as being on the ballot for at least 75% of all states. At the conclusion of the February 1st caucus there were 3 Democrats and 10 republicans who were still in the Presidential race, since then one Democratic candidate had dropped out.
