Not knowing what to do for a job interview can be disastrous for anyone. There are so many deciding factors that interviewers look at, and you just have to know a few of these factors. Knowing how to dress appropriately, having a positive attitude, and bringing a résumé will help anyone who does not know what to at an interview. Going to an interview in the appropriate attire will show the interviewer that you care about how you look. Dress attire is different for girls and boys. Girls have a harder time with attire because girls have more variety of casual or formal clothing. Girls should dress in a nice pair of jeans, that means no holes; a dress shirt, make sure it does not show too much cleavage; and do not show up in flip-flops, it just does not look professional. Boys only need to wear a dress shirt, like plaid; and jeans with a belt. Be sure to tuck your shirt into your jeans. This report seeks to compare and contrast the characteristics of school dress codes with that of dress codes in the workplace.
I’ve been in many different job interviews. Including the Georgina Leisure Pool. Where I applied for a Lifeguard, and Swim instructor position. I’ve also had an interview with Swiss Chalet where I applied for a waitressing position. Going into the interviews I was a bit nervous I’ve never been good at interviews, and pool interview was my first job ever. When I came to the interview at Swiss Chalet I was more hesitant then the pool interview because it was a new experience from me working in the food and beverage industry. I wasn’t sure of the questions that were going to be asked, and how I would respond to them.
I picked the subject of our school dress code to send to our superintendent for many reasons. I, along with many of my fellow female classmates, feel as if the dress code is unfair. We feel it defeats the purpose of trying to get us to be individuals and by giving us a good education. This is extremely important and I thought it was a topic that needs to be addressed. Having a closet half full of interview attire clothes I can save money. Since I am applying for a job being a Forensic Investigator I have decided to wear a smart casual attire for a potential interview. It will be consisting of a white dress button down blouse, cream v-neck sweater, gray dress pants, white shoes, and casual accessories. If I had the authority to change my school in a positive way, I would make dress code mandatory, make school lunches healthier, and stop bullying.
