Veterinarians are a key role in society now a day. People don’t realize all the good they do for the public. For example if there is an experienced veterinarian they will make more than one that has only been in the job for 2 or 3 years. Also location is an important thing to think about with this job. Such as, some states in the U.S aren’t as densely populated as others so there may not be as much work there for you to do. The median pay for a veterinarian is $84,460 a year. This will vary depending on different things, so you may make more than this of less, but you will need to do more research if you are seriously considering this job. Clothes don’t seem all that important to a job, but they actually are, especially for veterinarians. At all times they need to be clean and ready to face whatever comes their way, so they usually wear safe protective boots, occasionally scrubs if performing surgery, if on call at a farm they will just wear whatever keeps them clean and comfortable(usually jeans and t shirt), or in the office a white coat with scrubs underneath.

Not only is being a vet tech rewarding and life changing, but it can help the world become a better place by saving one animal at a time. There are two levels of education for entry into this occupation. A 4-year program for veterinary technologist, and a 2-year program for veterinary technician. Both need to pass a credentialing exam to be licensed, certified, or registered depending on the state. Also it is recommended that in highschool you take biology, math, and science classes. Both veterinary technologists and technician typically work in private clinics and hospitals. Sometimes in laboratories, humane societies and universities. There is a higher rate of illnesses than the national rate, this being because workers could could get bitten, scratched, or kicked. This happens because of dealing with aggressive or scared animals. Many clinics are open 24 hours so with that being said some will have to work holidays or weekends. The clinic that I am interning at they are not open 24 hours, they are open from 8-5 Monday through Friday.
