In the century long lifetime of my grandfather (1913-2013) he saw the world transform from a time with blacksmiths, typewriters and cobblestone to a place with iphones, genius bars and hybrid cars. The world he was born into is hardly recognizable compared to the one he left behind. Despite the many changes he saw in his lifetime, the education system has remained relatively constant. Results of the VARK self-assessment quiz indicated that I have a strong preference for kinesthetic and weak preference for Read-Write learning style. Second quiz for intelligence shows I have high percentage for Visual-Spatial and low for Rhythmic-Musical. Being a strong kinesthetic learner and with high Visual-Spatial intelligence, I will likely to teach by demonstration and less on reading and writing. Furthermore, I will have more hands-on and role-play and arts and crafts activities and less on reading and writing assignments. Create projects and activities in which all five senses (sight, touch, taste, smell, and hearing) will be used. This style of teaching will benefit the kinesthetic learners with Visual-Spatial and Bodily-Kinesthetic
In people with Attention Deficit disorder exercise helped tremendously. There focus improved and symptoms subsided. Attention Deficit is caused from a malfunction of the brain’s attention system. A diffuse linkage of neurons that hitches together areas controlling arousal, and motivation and movement is the result. Exercise helps in rewiring parts of the brain that control focus and motivation.
The production line that produces college and career ready students is better known to us as the education system. Francine Prose states in her essay, “I Know Why the Caged Bird Cannot Read,” “Education, after all, is a process intended to produce a product.” Society is the program, teachers are the machines, and students’ minds are the products. This is the way the education system has functioned for decades. Each school system has its own vision for the “products” that it is striving to produce; these “products” will determine the changes that occur in society.
Most people have heard of the term Attention Deficit Hyperactive (ADHD) disorder. "Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurobiological disorder that interferes with an individual's ability to attend to tasks (inattention), inhibits one's behavior (impulsivity), and may interfere with a person's ability to regulate one's activity level (hyper-activity) in developmentally appropriate ways (Barkley 19)". The most important job for teachers and parents is to separate fact from fiction, to clarify what we know and don't know.

Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder, or ADHD, affects many children in the United States as well as young adults. ADHD in young children can lead to difficulty in concentrating and learning in school, as well as becoming a distraction to the classroom (Frazier, Youngstrom, Glutting, & Watkins, 2007). Not only can ADHD cause problems in school, but it can also have an impact on other areas of that child’s life. These difficulties include making friends or listening to instructions told to them (DuPaul, 2007). In addition to the many adverse effects of ADHD, there are treatments and medications available to those with the disorder.

Throughout my time on placement in primary schools over the past four years, I have witnessed a variety of teaching strategies to get students motivated and ready for school in the morning. One approach I have seen in several schools is ‘huff n’ puff’, a morning activity in which students engage in some form of physical exercise, which may include running or active games outside. I believed this to be an effective strategy to release some energy and get the students settled down to learn. However, having a psychology background, I am interested to ascertain whether this morning physical activity has an influence on student mental wellbeing during the school day. I have noted mixed reactions to ‘huff n’ puff’ amongst students at my placement schools and I have wondered whether physical activity could positively or negatively impact student mental wellbeing due to confidence and self-esteem. According to the results of the second Australian Child and Adolescent Survey of Mental Health and Wellbeing, mental health disorders are prevalent amongst Australian children (13.9%) (Lawrence et al. 2016). People who are kinesthetic learning often become distracted and cannot focus due to their needs for more instruction and get their hands on items relating to the material. Kinesthetic learning is also known as tactile learning.
It is a interactive learning, through practical challenges and hands-on experience, developing their creativity and taking in information as they move from one place to another. Claimed by Feldman and McPhee, kinesthetic learners are most successful when totally engaged with a learning activity. They acquire information fastest when participating in a science lab, drama presentation, skit, field trip, dance, or other active activity. Online learning is not able to do this as it is only based on the computer knowledge and what the computer is able to do. Kinesthetic learning can be learnt by all ages from the young to the old as it based on the activities and learnt through those activities. The young or the old may not know how to operate a computer or a smart phone. Therefore, online learning and mobile learning may not be suitable for all the
