.1 INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY Employee morale Employee morale describes the overall outlook, attitude, satisfaction, and confidence that employees feel at work. When employees are positive about their work environment and believe that they can meet their most important needs at work, employee morale is positive or high. If employees are negative and unhappy about their workplace and feel unappreciated and as if they cannot satisfy their goals and needs, employee morale is negative or low. Employee morale is defined by the employee's outlook, optimism, self-concept, and assured belief in themselves and their organization, its mission, goals, defined path, daily decisions, and employee appreciation. Faith in self and faith in their …show more content…
Research design: A research design is the arrangement of conditions for collection and analysis of data in a manner that aims to combine relevance to research purpose with economy in procedure. it is the conceptual structure within which research conducted. it constitutes the blueprints for the collection, measurement and analysis of data. According to Pauline .V. Young. ‘Research design is the logical and systematic planning and directing a piece of research’. The design according to her “results from translating a general scientific model into varied research”. DATA COLLECTION METHOD It is a systematic procedure of collecting information in order to analyze and verify a phenomenon. The collection of information has been done through two major sources: 1. Primary Data. 2. Secondary Data. Primary Data:It is the information collected directly without any reference. Primary data that is collected fresh and for the first time, and these happened to be original in character. There are several methods for collecting primary data, particularly in surveys and descriptive research. Important one’s are: 1) Observation method ` 2) Interviewing method 3) Questionnaires method 4) Schedule method This study covers the data collected from employees using INTERVIEWING METHOD, QUESTIONNAIRES METHOD. Secondary Data: The Secondary
Low morale negatively affects the entire organization on many levels. Ineffective communication leads to poor performance, dissatisfied employees and unhappy patients. If managers are not fully engaged in supporting
Morale in the workplace is an important part of any business. Many businesses recognize that when morale is low many issues will ensue. Low morale in the workplace can cause many problems that affect employees and their ability to get their job done. For this reason, companies often create programs to avoid low morale, but are not always successful. Low morale can happen in any business setting. Whether it be in a law firm or a grocery store, low morale can be damaging to a business by causing discontented employees, which can lead to poor productivity, absenteeism and even high turnover. The causes of low morale differ from organization to organization but the outcome generally follows the same trend. Low morale causes undue stress among employees and management, which will ultimately affect the company and that’s something that no business wants.
Knowing the differences between a thoughtful research approach, design, and their characteristics inform the research
A research design can be understood as the planning of any scientific research from the first to the last step. In this sense it is a program to guide the researcher in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting facts (Bless and Higson-Smith, 1995:63).
Overall, qualitative research design can help give researches options of conducting researching depending on the research topic in question. Further understand the types of qualitative research design can further narrow research method options. Ultimately, qualitative research should continue to be a notable research method since it enables researchers from all fields to examine concepts that are abstract and try to comprehend different
When an employee can come to work, with a lot going on in their personal life, make people around them happy, satisfied that is the real definition of high morale. Being more than content with one’s job and will be taken notice by the customers around you. For example, Vision Critical founder Andrew Reid says, “Customers are starting to recognize their nonmonetary value and in return they expect more than a receipt and a thank you”. The customers will actually respond to the morale in the work place. Customers will more than likely keep coming back if customer service is great.
According to Bateman & Snell (2009), Motivators to employee job performance are centered on extrinsic and intrinsic rewards. Extrinsic rewards are characteristics of the workplace that attract and retain people. They revolve around organization and management policies, working conditions, pay, benefits, and other so-called “hygiene” factors. Intrinsic rewards are motivators that provide employees personal satisfaction in the performance of their jobs such as opportunities for personal and career growth, recognition and the feeling of achievement in the successful completion of a task. (p. 486). Herzberg’s two-factor theory suggests
Research methods provide guidance on designing a study. Research design and use of theory varies per research method. Each design has specific requirements pertaining to issues such as the role of theory, data collection, and the use of variables (Jackson, 2012). Researchers conduct studies when a problem or gap in the literature pertaining to a topic is identified, or when a weakness in an existing theory is identified. The researcher then formulates a research question. The research study should be designed to answer the research
Employee attitudes can be described as their viewpoints by workers regarding various aspects of their job responsibilities, careers, and organizations. Nonetheless, the most significant and widely recognized attitude of an employee in an organization is associated with
The research process is a systematic approach that is carried out with a particular aim or purpose. However, in order to come up to a conclusion based on the objective of the research, the researchers collect a multitude of information that can be analyzed. This is a normal course of action that is applied to all research and evaluation projects, despite of the fact that research method involves a scientific method of inquiry or an evaluation based research or action research.
Through the understanding of the elements involved in a research paper, a person can obtain the ability to complete good research. In research there are two questions asked; what is going on for descriptive research and why is it going on for explanatory research. The research design is simply the theory building approach to research. Although research design is the hardest part of research it is vital for research to be guided.
It also effects how the employee feels about management and the organization for which they work for. Employee compensation is a major concern for most, since it directly supports their livelihood. Finally, employee morale also effects how employees feel about their coworkers and their team. It involves and includes every single event, every thought, and everything said in their work environment. Negative employee morale can become a serious problem and can negatively affect an organization. It can “kill your company’s productivity today, and will lead to significant retention, recruiting, and training costs down the road” (Amanet). It can also “hold back a business from reaching organization- wide goals and increase employee turnover, and loss of profitability” (Snap). The internet has opened this door that has allowed employees to voice their opinions about how they feel about a company that they work for or previously worked for. Employees are using this tool and are not holding back on any information given. This feedback is allowing future candidates to research a specific company before they accept a job interview. “Sites like Glassdoor, Vault, and CareerLeak give interview candidates and employees the

There are numerous research designs that a researcher can choose. Therefore, it is essential that the researcher chooses a research design that fits the purpose of the study. The purpose of this paper is to explore the logic of experimental design.
This study will require Primary data and Secondary data. Data collection will be done by designing appropriate questionnaire and conducting semi structured interview.
